Merry and Bright

Hello, everyone! It is Gloria with you again! Back in June, I shared THIS card and in September THIS card, where I showed you how to use up your leftover ribbon bits. I decided to do it again with the October Ribbon Club Christmas Assortment!

This is such a special card that would be perfect to include with a gift card this year! I love to have a selection of extra-special cards for just that purpose. It makes giving a gift card seem like so much more than a piece of plastic.
I created a 5" x 6" card from black cardstock. Then, I cut a piece of white cardstock to slightly smaller than 5" x 6". I used black ink to stamp a Christmas sentiment onto the bottom right of the white panel. I then added some Scor-tape to the back so that I could wrap short lengths of ribbon around the cardstock panel and secure them.

Note: The Forest Green Plaid in the Ribbon Club is the 5/8", but the store does have the 3/8" that I used. Also, the Christmas Traditions Plaid is NOT in the club assortment, but is available in the store, just use the link above.
Once all the ribbon was attached, I added more Scor-tape and attached the whole panel to the card front.
I created a bow from the 5/8" Red Plaid ribbon and attached it to the area overlapping the the Red Plaid ribbon on the card. Then, I added some flowers and Christmas bells, plus some other Christmas floral items (see list of flowers below). I use hot glue to attach all my bows and flowers to my cards.
I finished the card by adding a few sparkly enamel dots. Have you tried this technique yet?! If you have, please post your link in the comments so I can stop by and see!

This "made from scratch" flip folio is kept neat and tidy, thanks to the Red Plaid Ribbon Closure.  I use 1/2" Scor-Tape to secure my ribbon to the folio cover so it stays put.

Fun Fall Shaker card with RRR

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday to you all! Today's card was designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon and The Robins Nest Creative. Loving the fall colors and working with all fall related items. I will list below what I used and how.

Card base and layers-

  • card base is an orange card stock cut at 6" x 12" and scored in the middle to create 6" x 6" card.
  • Layer 1-cut my brown 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" , then the rust at 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", and DP is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
  • Layer 2- is 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" brown, orange is 4 1/2"x 4 1/2" , dp is 4 1/4"x 4 1/4"
  • layer 3- 2 3/4"x 5" brown, then polka dot is 2 1/2" x 4 3/4"
  • Layer 4- 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" brown, orange is 2" x 4 1/4", dp is 1 3/4" x 4" then cut the end off
  • Layer 5- window shaker, I added lots of The Robins Nest Dew drops in the inside.'
  • Inside Layer is done using 3 layers, brown, rust and white. 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" , 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" , 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
All layers have sewing, dots, and dew drops in the corners. I love how the diamond shaped dew drops look in all corners and give some embellishing to my card layers. I also used dew drops on the window shutters, and top of window.

Flowers-

  • I chose all my flowers from Really Reasonable ribbon, and used several different types. I listed them all below for easy finding. I also added some branches, and dew drops to the floral cluster I made. The gorgeous ribbon is Plaid Ivory , Brown and copper. Love it!

Deck The Halls

Hello, and welcome by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  Thanks for visiting us today as I, your crafty friend Karen, share a sweet little Christmas card that I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's always fun making Christmas cards, and Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect trims for every card and project.   Just look at this sweet little card.
I started with black cardstock and added a piece of kraft corrugated cardboard.  I used an Echo Park snowflake stencil to stencil some brown snowflakes on the background.  Next, I added some Ivory Crochet Lace across the bottom of my card next to a heart border cut from red wool felt.  I also ran a length of Black Seam Binding across my card in that area and tied a bow with it.  I used Scor-Tape to adhere the trims.
I attached an old Tim Holtz Adage Ticket to my card, and I used a Stamp Simply sentiment (Deck the Halls).  I tied some rusty jingle bells with Red Baker's Twine and Solid Red Baker's Twine.  I also attached a few cute buttons to my ticket, and they're tied with Red Burlap String and Ivory Burlap String in their centers.
Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect ribbons, trims, twines, strings and SO much more to help you adorn your cards and projects.  Be sure to stop by the RRR Blog for loads of great inspiration and by the RRR Store for lots of great options.  Thanks again for visiting us today and have a wonderful week.

Blessings,
Karen

Trio of Christmas Cards

Hello, everyone! It is Gloria with you again! I have a trio of Christmas cards to share today! I am still playing with the October Ribbon Club Assortment, because I like to use as much of an assortment as I can before I put the leftovers away!

All the cards are standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" but since I added ribbon I may need a more roomy envelope, or at least more postage on a standard envelope.

I am using the papers and stickers from the Photoplay Here Comes Santa card kit (from 2018). I am not usually one to use a card kit, but if I do, I always add my own twist. I like to add more dimension, and of course ribbon!

For the first card I created a focal sentiment then added some ribbon loops and sequins for "pizzazz"! I used 5/8" Forest Green Plaid, 3/8" Red Checkerboard Satin, and 5/8" Poinsettia Print on White Satin ribbons to make the loops.

The second card has a nice, loopy bow made from the 3/8" Holiday Ornaments on White Satin. I also added dimension by popping the sentiment and berries with foam tape, and of course...more sequins!
This last card is WAY out of my comfort zone! I added the ornament and star stickers to a white piece of cardstock! Yes, stickers! I popped the sentiment with foam dots, and added a foam sticker to the bow! Sequins make everything all shimmery. The bow is made from the 3/8" Forest Green Checkerboard Satin, which is also sparkly when the light hits it.

Christmas Borders and Bows

Really Reasonable Ribbon October 2022 Ribbon Club Assortment Kathy Clement Photo 01

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Isn't it wonderful that we can use our ribbons to make Christmas borders and bows?  Adding a ribbon border to white space on a card is one of my favorite techniques.  Suddenly, we've turned a potentially "blah" blank space into a beautiful spot with texture, pattern and color!  That's why I attached some Poinsettia Printed Satin Ribbon at the base of this rustic Christmas card.

Rustic Christmas Card with Really Reasonable Ribbon by Kathy Clement

It' such a quick and easy technique, but adds so much to a card design.  Simple adhere a length of 1/2" Scor-tape over the area you wish to cover with ribbon.  Let the ends of the Scor-tape extend about 3/4" beyond the edges of the card panel.  Remove the liner tape, then burnish the ribbon over the adhesive.  Once again, let the ribbon ends extend beyond the edges of the card panel.  This way, you can wrap the ribbon around the panel, hiding any raw edges and leaving a nice, neat border in place.

Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon is one of my favorite ribbon styles because it ties such beautiful bows!  The ribbon is not too thick, and easy to work with.  I've tied these big loopy bows on my Bow-it-All Tool using Red Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon.  Both of the ribbons I've used here are part of the October Ribbon Club Assortment.

You can dress up your bow clusters by tucking in a Red Bead Berry Spray.  I cut small sections of the berries off the main stem, then I hot glue them in place between the bow and the flower or button on top.  They really take a bow cluster to the next level!

Have you started making your Christmas cards yet?  I hope I've shared some easy ways to create Christmas Borders and Bows with you in today's post!

Happy Haunting Witchy Bear Treat Holder

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday to you all! Today I have a fun little Halloween treat holder that I designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the beautiful satin ribbon.

For my treat holder I made it like a match book to hold a few pieces of candy. Love how easy these are to make and fun to decorate.

  • to start with I cut a piece of card stock to measure 4" x 8 1/4"
  • Next I score at 3/4" , 4 1/2" and then 4 3/4"
  • now press and fold pieces.
  • design paper measures 3 1/2" high x 3 3/4" wide this is for the front cover piece
  • Now for the fold at the bottom that is 3/4" fold up and staple. I then covered that piece with checkerboard satin purple ribbon and black dew drops, ribbon and a fun little candy piece that was a sticker.
  • for the cover I used scor-tape and placed that on top. Now used the sticker haunted house and sticker bat and tombstone.
  • witchy bear is from kadoodlebug designs and was put together and distressed. I added dew drops to her hat, star, and broom. Lastly I added some white dots.
  • I used 1" score tape on the inside to hold the candy.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a lovely day!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Autumn Wishes & Pumpkin Kisses

Autumn Wishes & Pumpkin Kisses are what I'm sharing today with this FUN Halloween card I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Hi friends!  It's your ribbon-loving friend, Karen, here today sharing a cute Halloween card I created using products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Luckily, we can always count on RRR to have the perfect ribbons, trims, and goodies to adorn every card and every project we make.
I used black cardstock and some patterned paper scraps to create my base.  Next, I used a journalling card, a chipboard piece, and a sticker from My Mind's Eye Trick or Treat collection.  I die-cut a fancy border and topped that with a length of Black Seam Binding.  Then, I used a piece of the Black Seam BindingOrange Seam Binding and Solid Pumpkin Baker's Twine to create my bow.  I tucked in a few Black Double Head Stamens and Matcha Green Double Head Stamens, and then topped the bow with a pretty Dark Green Open Rose.
The stamped sentiment is from Paper Sweeties, and I think that about covers everything I used.  Of course, I used lots of Scor-Tape to hold all my papers and other pieces securely in place.  The little candy corn ephemera is from Jolee's.  If I forgot anything, just ask.  I tend to pile a lot on my cards, so I do lose track of it all sometimes.  It's always a comfort knowing that Really Reasonable Ribbon will always have the perfect trims for every project.
My second card uses more of the Trick or Treat collection from My Mind's Eye.  That includes the ephemera, stickers, journalling card and chipboard cat.  I tied some Solid Yellow Baker's Twine around my card as well as a piece of Black Seam Binding that I used to tie my bow.  A few Double Head Stamens are also tucked in there.
I do hope you'll stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to look around.  There's lots of great inspiration on the RRR Blog along with our Blog Hop information and up-to-date details on special sales and promotions, so be sure to stop by often.  We always enjoy your visits.

Blessings,
Karen
