Butterfly Tri-Fold Card with Dyed Ribbon

Hi friends.  Today I have a card I made while playing with my Color Burst powders.  I was having lots of fun creating great background papers and then I realized I could dye my ribbons to match.  Color Burst powders and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  What a fabulous combination!
These powders are so much fun to play with.  If you want to dye ribbon, it's done the same way you color your papers.  Simply mist the ribbon with water to wet, sprinkle on some powders, mist again and repeat until you have the desired look.  You can also dye the ribbons with the 'leftover' colors on your non-stick mat.  Either way works.  The ribbons don't come out with colors quite as intense as on the paper, but they will still coordinate wonderfully with your project.
My bow was made with white Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  You can view all my Bow-it-All video tutorials on my YouTube channel HERE.
This is a tri-fold card which is a little hard to photograph.  I really wanted to showcase the pretty papers, so I left one panel free of other embellishments.
This is the inside.

Saying Thank You

Hello to all of our ribbon-loving friends!  Karen Letchworth here today with a quick post using more of my Really Reasonable Ribbon favorites.  Life certainly has its ups and downs, and we all go through difficult times.  It's so important to remember, though, that everyone goes through these rough times.  We often get so focused on our own troubles that we forget to notice that others are struggling as well.  One thing I try to do when I'm having a bad day (physically or emotionally) is to encourage someone else.  It takes my focus off my own worries, and helps me to be grateful for all my blessings, and remember that others are hurting (sometimes much worse than I am).  We ALL need the love of others.  I made this card to say THANK YOU to someone who, despite her own struggles, always takes time to encourage me (and others).  It's important to say THANK YOU to people for the things they do.  That's one of the many things I LOVE about Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Their sweet ribbons, laces, trims, flowers and embellishments make it so easy to create a sweet card to thank someone.
I created this card using some old Making Memories patterned paper, a doily, a grungy prim tag, and several great products from Really Reasonable Ribbon including their sweet Helen White Crochet Lace, Pink Aster Seam Binding, Teal Seam Binding, Raspberry Seam Binding, Pink Burlap String, Moss Green Jumbo Leaves Trim, Cream Seam Binding, as well as some of Really Reasonable Ribbon's GORGEOUS mulberry flowers including their Open Roses in Pink and Open Roses in Baby Blue.  I also included a lovely Wild Orchid Crafts Spiral Stamen in White, and these are such lovely accents that come in several colors and add a really lovely touch to your cards.  They've been recently restocked, so now is a good time to purchase some in every brilliant color they carry.  All of Really Reasonable Ribbon's awesome products work together to help create the most lovely cards, and you will never be disappointed with your choices.
We'd also love to have you play along in our challenge.  Please stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to see all the fabulous ribbons, trims, laces, flowers and more; and treat yourself to something fun.  There's sure to be something PERFECT for your next project.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a blessed week.

Have an Amazing Anniversary!

I need a few anniversary cards to add to the card stockpile, but actually this one is going to my in-laws right away, so it's not going to help me get ahead.  The harder I try, the further behind I get.....

I love embellishing all my cards with beautiful bows using ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's the perfect finishing touch!
I'm still loving the bi-color bows and today I used silver and royal blue Delicate Stitched Satin to create this beauty on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  You can view a video tutorial on how to create this bow on my YouTube channel HERE.
For the little bits of silver cording coming out the top of the bow, I cut four short pieces of Silver Metallic String about an inch long and I taped them to the back of the top of the sentiment panel in the arrangement I liked.  It add an extra fun little touch.  I finished off the center of my bow using a 10mm white Open Rose from WOC.
I mounted my lovely handmade paper roses over a strip of the silver Delicate Stitched Satin across the card front below the sentiment.

Something fun for baby girls

Hi Everyone... it's so nice to have you stop by and visit us on the RRR blog today!  I have a fun and easy project that you can do to use up lots of the ribbons that you have or you can even order more from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store to make for all those cute little baby girls in your life.
If you didn't know it already, RRR has some really fun little ribbons that are elastic like and are great for making baby hair bands.  They are super soft and come in lots of patterns and white too. I used the light blue and pink ginghams and the white to create mine with.  All you have to do for these is measure your sweet baby girls head and cut the ribbon and then stitch it by hand or sew it together to make a circle.  Then pick some of your favorite ribbons like I did and make lots of pretty bows to attach to them.  And you can be really creative by mixing and matching or just by using the same color scheme.  It was super fun and they went together really quick.
Here is a closeup of a double bow with a knot in the center.  I always tie my bows together with thread first and then tie the knot in the center and glue it on the back over the elastic tie to finish it.  I think it gives it a good finished look that way but you can also add a button or rhinestone too.

Here is a list of the ribbons that I used for my project:  Elastic Double Ruffle Ribbon,
Aren't the ribbons just so pretty?

Thanks so much for stopping over and have a really wonderful day....Teresa

Christmas in July: Blue Christmas Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

How are you surviving the summer heat? It has been sweltering here in North Carolina.  I only go outside to water my herbs and check the mail...and even then I break into a sweat.  Ugh!  So I've been spending a lot of time in my studio working on building up my card stash.  And to help keep myself cool, I decided to work ahead (for a change) on my Christmas cards.  And what is cooler for Christmas than a frosty blue, silver and white color palette, and shimmery Blue Topaz Satin Swiss Dots Ribbon

I bet you feel 5 degrees cooler just looking at this icy cool card!  I used my Zutter-Bow-it-All to create a triple loop bow with the Swiss Dots Satin Ribbon.  I love how soft and shimmery this ribbon is, and so easy to work with!  I topped it off with a little bead/berry spray to add even a little more glitz and glam to this holiday card.

The beautiful image is from Polly's Paper Studio Retro Christmas Creative Kit.  I added a little glitter and stitched the focal to white burlap.   The beautiful bow and layered silver snowflake framed the image perfectly.

Here's a peeky at the inside:

Now that's one Christmas card down...and only about 99 to go!  Hope you are staying cool and finding time to be creative!

Packed with Love..

Ahhhhhhhh summer, how I love ya, love ya, love ya youuuuuu!   I am in full summer swing.....just got back from our family vacation.  I am still a little on island time.  Coming to grips with the laundry.  But sooo very glad to be home.
Popping in to RRR to share a project today.  Both can be given as gifts....filled with candies or a small gift.  A pillow box and painted mason jar both with a fruit motif.  I used papers from Carta Bella and Raspberry Road.  My ribbons include cotton blend ribbonplaid ribbon in redcherry twineTeresa white crochet lace, and lipstick red seam binding.  My main focal points are some sweet little vintage millinery fruits I found in my stash.  I embellished them with sweetheart blossoms and parrot green leaves.   Other than that a few silk flowers and stamped sentiments from Wplus9 and I was done!  Enjoy!  hugs, Cherry

Summer Botanicals Card

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am back again with a card I created by coloring one of the beautiful botanical stamps from PowerPoppy with my Copic Markers and adding some stunning shimmering ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.
After I stamped and colored the image, I die-cut it out my Pierced Rectangle Stax from MFT and matted it onto peach cardstock.  I took three designer patterned papers from my stash (My Girl by American Crafts) and layered them together onto more peach cardstock to create a background for my card.  I matted the image onto this background with foam tape.  I then wrapped Sheer Iridescent Ribbon in Peach around the card and also created a triple loop double layered bow with my Bow-It-All tool.  Finally, I added some aqua flat backed adhesive gems to the top and bottom for an accent, and adhered it all to a white A6 card base.  I hope you enjoy this fun summer colored card. Please visit my blog http://pinkchicpaperdesign.blogspot.com/ to see more cards with beautiful images and ribbons.  Have a wonderful day!

Silver and Gold Christmas in July

I'm still working on some Christmas in July cards.  Soooo not in the mood!  Frankly I'm never in the mood for Christmas - even in December.  Bah Humbug!!
Beautiful glitzy ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon help me get in the right frame of mind though....
The beautiful Glitz Ribbon I used for my bow in Silver and Gold is a gorgeous sparkly ribbon and I'm thrilled that I finally captured that in a photo.  I love this ribbon for Christmas and it comes in eleven gorgeous glitzy colors.  It's really very easy to work with too which you can see by how well it behaves for this bow.
My bow was created on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  You can view a video tutorial for this bow HERE.
For information on the other products I used on my card, please visit me at my Make Time to Craft Blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Home Sweet Camper Wall Hanging

Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here and  I'm pretty excited to share my project today. We've been rehabbing a 1966 Vintage Banner camper for our family adventures and it's been so much fun decorating and making up special items for it. I created a little wall hanging to go with our retro 50's theme of white and teal like a great old fashioned diner.
Isn't this retrolicious????  I'm using Sheer Cherry Ribbon in red and Burlap Center Stitch in Turquoise from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I added Red Sweetheart Blossoms and Teal Cosmos together with a funky red clothes pin and a label created with my old school label maker.
The base is super sturdy chipboard covered in canvas and it's got a generous length of ribbon to display in our lil camper.
The printed paper and images are from Crafty Secrets. I added some big chunky subway style lettering for my camper theme.
I can't wait to hang this up and enjoy it while we are "roughing it".  Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative. : ) G

Really Reasonable Ribbon ROCKS!

My good friend, and owner of Really Reasonable Ribbon (what I believe is the greatest ribbon shop in the world), Bonnie Garby, once told me that "a card just isn't complete without a bow".  I have to say that I completely agree with her.  I just can't resist adding that special touch. This card was cute without the bow, but it's even cuter WITH it.  I used some patterned papers, chipboard and stickers, and a stamped sentiment.  Like I said, it looked good.  But I knew it needed something more; and that something was a big beautiful bow using Really Reasonable Ribbon's AWESOME supplies.

I added a bow using their gorgeous Turquoise Plaid Ribbon, some Cream Seam BindingTeal Baker's TwineBlueberry Baker's Twine, some awesome 1.5" Jute Ribbon in Ivory, and a pretty Deep Ivory Open Rose by Wild Orchid Crafts.  I love the textures, and the personality all these items give to my card.  I honestly believe that Really Reasonable Ribbon ROCKS!  I highly recommend ALL their amazing products.  Doesn't this bow really make the card POP?

I invite you to stop by and check out all their amazing ribbons and trims, flowers, and accessories.  I know that you will absolutely LOVE all of their amazing products.  We also have a super fun challenge where you can play along.  We really hope that you will stop by for some shopping, some great inspiration, and lots of fun!

Thanks for visiting with us today, and have a blessed week.  I'd love to have you stop by my blog, My Cup Runneth Over, to say hello.  Happy crafting, and don't forget the ribbons!

Burlap like you have never seen it before! By Jenn Cochran

Hi everyone!  Hope you all are ready for a super crafty week.  Today I have a fun card using Really Reasonable Ribbon's Burlap String to accent my bubble background card.
I have used the Burlap String in orange.  I wrapped it several times around the middle of the card.  Then I used the Bow It All 2.0 to create a multi-loop bow.  I love how the orange popped off the turquoise background.

Here is my Tell All Video on how to create a bubble background with alcohol markers.

Thank you so much for looking and visiting the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog.  Don't forget to join in on our current challenge: black and white plus one additional color or you can also use and image.

Summer Inspired Thank You Card

Hi Everyone... I hope that you are all enjoying your summers and I also hope you have a chance to create lots of fun things while the weather is warm and the days are long.  Today I used a paper line from We R to create my card called Indian Summer and I made it with feathers and jute string from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I love lots of texture and really dug deep into my goodies for this one.  I used burlap for the card base with the kraft paper and then layered Spellbinders dies on top in an oval shape.  Then I stamped my Stampendous stamp called Friendship Assortment in black Versafine ink and tied a piece of pretty jute string across the bottom and added some die cut feathers and a brad.  It was super quick and easy and fun to make.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend....Teresa

Time to Flourish with Beautiful Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

How's everyone surviving the summer heat?  We are well into July now, and gardens seem to be overflowing here in North Carolina.  I was inspired to get out my Graphic 45 Time to Flourish papers and created another fun pocket card that I've embellished with elegant Navy Diamond Satin Ribbon and shimmery Iridescent White Metallic String from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
This 5" x 7" top fold card is such a fun design.  To make the base from an 8.5" x 11 sheet of navy cardstock, cut the cardstock on the short side at 5".  You'll have a 5" x 11 rectangle. Cut two more 5" panels from the leftover piece, and then carefully join them to the base of the 5" x 11" panel using glue or 1/8" Scor-tape.  Try to overlap as little as possible. Next, score this long rectangle at 7" on the long side and fold.  Score again 3" down from the open end of your folded cardstock.  Fold this up and you've created a 3" deep pocket on the inside of your card.
I added lots of layers and fussy cut elements to my card front, matting everything with navy cardstock.  I tied my beautiful bow with the help of my trusty Zutter Bow it All and then topped it with a tag,  a loopy string bow, and a vintage strawberry button.
The flower was created with the Time to Flourish punch out flowers.  I sponged all the edges with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink, spritzed the back with a little water, rounded out the petals with a stylus and then pinched the petals together to create ridges.  After glueing all the layers together, I painted the petals with Glossy Accents to give them even more shine.  I hand cut leaves from an old book page and painted them with GA, too.  The belly band on my card was created by layering Cream Mesh Ribbon with the Navy Diamond Satin Ribbon.  It just adds such lovely texture to the card.
The inside of the card is decorated on both the top and the bottom.  I looped some ivory burlap string under my little tag to make it stand out on the page. The Time to Flourish stamps were embossed with copper embossing powder.
And here's the pocket I was telling you about.  I filled it with a little birthday hanger that features stamped greetings and fussy cut roses from the paper collection.
There's plenty of room in the pocket for a gift card, too!

It's fun to create flowers that won't wilt in the heat!

Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy
