Halloween Sweets and Smiles

Hello, everyone! It is Gloria with you again! Back in June, I shared THIS card, where I showed you how to use up your ribbon bits. I decided to do it again with the September Ribbon Club Halloween Assortment!

I do not wish to save short lengths of ribbon because I already have so much and it can get to be a storage nightmare, so I am always looking for ways to use up the "tail end" of a ribbon style. This type of card is perfect for that!
I created a 5" x 6" card from black cardstock. Then, I cut a piece of gray cardstock to slightly smaller than 5" x 6". I used black ink to stamp a Halloween sentiment onto the bottom right of the gray panel. I then added some Scor-tape to the back so that I could wrap short lengths of ribbon around the cardstock panel and secure them.

Note: The Halloween Candy ribbon is NOT in the current Ribbon Club Halloween Assortment, but it is available in the store! See the link above.

Once all the ribbon was attached, I added more Scor-tape and attached the whole panel to the card front.
I created a bow from the 3/8" Tangerine Satin with Grosgrain Edge ribbon and attached it to the area overlapping the Tangerine Checkerboard Satin ribbon. I did not have enough of the Checkerboard Satin to make a bow! Then, I added lots of flowers (see list of flowers below). I use hot glue to attach all my bows and flowers to my cards.

Tip: You can always use sprays, inks, paints, or markers to "colorize" your flowers! I keep a stash of white and ivory blooms for just this purpose!
I finished the card by adding a few matte enamel dots in Halloween colors. This will be a great card to send to someone accompanying a few Halloween treats!

Birthday Celebration Flip Folio with Ribbon Closure

Photoplay Add Another Candle Flip Folio with Really Reasonable Ribbon September 2022 Ribbon Club Assortment Kathy Clement PHoto 01
Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Let's celebrate and have some cake today!  This cutie pie Birthday Flip Folio is filled with happy colors, images and patterns.  The Tangerine Checkerboard Satin Ribbon from the September Ribbon Club Assortment was a perfect color match for the orange hues in this vibrant paper collection.  So I used it to create a ribbon closure to keep everything neat and tidy!  Orange  and Yellow Burlap String provided great accents behind my flower clusters, too.

I dressed up the spine with a Fuchsia, Orange and Lavender Checked Bow.  It's like this ribbon was made with this paper collection in mind! The ribbon closure is secured with 1/2" Scor-Tape

Here's a peek at the inside of this happy little flip folio.

Each section is filled with surprise interactive elements that make it super fun to open.  Don't forget to add a little extra dimension with Foam Tabs.

The whole folio feels like a party is going on...and we did party a LOT in August, because it is our family's big birthday month.  Thankfully, I have a great supply of ribbon on hand to dress up all my cards, folios and gifts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Unicorn card

Hello crafty friends and Happy Monday to you all! Today I'm sharing this sweet Autumn card designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using all the gorgeous flowers and ribbons.

For my card today I chose to use some darling design papers that are fall and from Echo park, and then my sweet autumn unicorn svg file I bought. I distressed all her pieces and glued her together, and then added her eyelashes, and dots and so on. I absolutely love fall as well as summer , but I'm so ready for fall colors now. I chose lots of flowers that RRR carries in the shop, and will list them all below for easy finding.  I do plan on giving this card to a dear friend, I hope she loves it.

Give Thanks (for Ribbons....LOL)

Hello!  Karen here today.  I guess it's no secret that I absolutely LOVE ribbons.  Those who stop by my blog and here at the RRR Blog frequently are aware that I (well, all of us here) enjoy working with lots and lots of RIBBONS.  I feel so very blessed to be on the Really Reasonable Ribbon DT, and I do hope that some of my cards and projects inspire you.   I just love the extra texture that ribbons and trims add to any and every project they touch.  And when it comes to ribbons and trims, Really Reasonable Ribbon has it ALL and then some.
I used black cardstock and some cute Carta Bella Hello Autumn 6x6 Patterned Papers and journalling card to create my card base. Well..... all that AND lots of lovely RIBBONS. I added a length of Black & White Gingham Ribbon, Plaid Orange Ribbon With Black Stitched Edges, and one of my all-time favorites - Bay Leaf Seam Binding. I used all the same trims as listed and linked above to make my little tag at the bottom left. I stamped the word thanks on a small kraft tag and tied it all together with a nice long piece of Ivory Burlap String. It just helped me tie in, and repeat, all the different ribbons I laid on my card underneath the sentiment square. Thanks for stopping by the RRR Blog today, and please don't forget to visit Really Reasonable Ribbon Store for ALL your ribbon needs (as well as Adhesives, Flowers, Embellishments and SO much more).
Blessings,
Karen

Trick or Treat?

Hello, again everyone! It is Gloria with you. I am back today using more of the beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon September Ribbon Club ribbons!

If you love ribbon, the Ribbon Club is such a great way to try out lots of styles and colors of ribbon! I often buy older sets when Bonnie has them for sale, or I will buy extras of ribbon styles that I particularly love!

My second favorite card size to make is 5" x 6". I don't know why, but just putting the 6" x 6" cards on a little diet makes them seem so much more interesting to me! I love this size, but I do have to either use a 5" x 7" envelope or make my own custom envelopes.

I shopped my stash for some paper, and I used Graphic 45 Rare Oddities, Pink Paislee  Hocus Pocus, and Echo Park Hocus Pocus (yes, two companies had paper with the same name).

I also used some chipboard elements and a sticker from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells. I love to dig through my paper hoard and mix and match!

The spider web is cut using a die from Papertrey Ink.

Now for the ribbons! I used 5/8" Grape Checkerboard Satin to make a big bow, which I glued to the card. I then added another bow made from 5/8" Black Double-Faced Satin. I added the chipboard square and sticker, along with a metal gear and a metal feather.

I used some shimmer spray to make a pale lavender rose look a little manky! I also used a few purple rose buds
Mixing ribbons with embellishments and flowers is my joy! It makes me so happy! I added a few silver pearls to the card for a finishing touch!

Thank you so much for stopping by! And get your candy ready for Trick or Treat night!

Wrap it With Ribbon!

Hello, Friends!  As a maker of dimensional cards, one of the most frequent questions I am asked is, "How do you present this card?". So I thought I would take a moment to share a quick, easy and stylish way to present or wrap a dimensional card.

I keep a stash of  decorative 6" x 8" kraft gift bags similar to the one shown in the above photo.  Some are decorated with musical notes, or vintage newsprint ads and other themes. You can find these at craft stores, on Etsy and Ebay.  Bonnie used to carry a really nice selection for decorative bags, too.  Maybe we could all talk her into doing that again!

This cute moustache bag was perfect for the masculine birthday card I made for our son. And the September Ribbon Club Assortment had the perfect ribbons to match the color palette of the card.

Although there are no flowers or big bows on this card, the pizza slices are quite dimensional because I placed Foam Adhesive Squares between all the layers.  I also backed the pepperoni slices with small foam squares.  The Foam Squares that come from Really Reasonable Ribbon have both large and small tabs in each package.

After I placed the 5" x 7" card in the bag, I folded over the top and secured it with a bit of Scor-Tape under the flap. Then I ran Scor-Tape along the left hand side of the card and wrapped the Black Double Faced Satin Ribbon around the bag, tying a simple square knot where the ends met.

The next step was wrapping the bag with a length of 3/8" Tangerine Satin Ribbon in the same way I did the black satin.  This time I used 1/4" Scor-Tape.  Then I attached the pocket watch charm with Pumpkin Baker's Twine and tied a simple shoelace style bow.  This dressed up the card nicely, and made it feel like a gift.

You can use this same simple trick to mail a card, too.  Just wrap the card with layers of tissue paper and tie ribbon around to dress it up.  (But don't use the Scor-Tape!) Then you can place the card in a bubble mailer and send it on its way!

I hope I've shared some new ideas for presenting a dimensional card as a gift.  It actually took longer to write this post than it did to dress up the gift bag with ribbon.  You gotta love it when something that quick and easy makes such a big impact.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday card

Hello crafty friends and Happy Friday to you all! Today's happy birthday card was designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon and for a friend who needed a birthday card so I made 2 for her to choose from. I'm loving these colors together and have used this design paper and flowers on other items as well.
so for my card I chose to use 3 different design papers for the front, and then the chevron for the inside. I added 5 layers to the front, and then decorated using the gorgeous flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I love the large chrysanthemums that RRR has to offer, and there are so many colors and assortments to choose from. Next I chose to use the Red Open roses, and then the yellow
Really Reasonable Ribbon supplies used:
Open Roses Mixed Color 20mm for the greenish blue color
other items used, hot glue, sewing machine, dew drops, stamps from stampinup!, dies, ink, white paint pen

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a lovely day!
hugs to all,

Happy Birthday My Friend

Hi friends!  Karen here today.  As you know, I've been on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team for quite some time now; and I can honestly say that Really Reasonable Ribbon has NEVER disappointed me.  They always have the perfect color, design, width, and style of ribbons, twines, laces and trims for every project.  Not to mention all the other amazing products they carry.  I'm blessed to be on this DT, and I'm SO in love with ALL the products at Really Reasonable Ribbon, their prices, selection, and customer service.  It's all top-notch.
This card started with a black cardstock base, some Carta Bella patterned paper, and a piece of white watercolor paper that I rubbed with Tim Holtz Oxide Inks to create my background.  I also used a stencil from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  The image and sentiments were stamped using stamps from Stamp Simply.  I also used a piece of the Carta Bella patterned paper to cut a pretty scalloped border.  I ran a piece of pretty White Crochet Lace topped with a piece of Moss Green & Cream Gingham Ribbon up the left-hand side of my card near the die-cut border.  I also tied a bow using the Moss Green & Cream Gingham Ribbon.  That bow is held in place with a metal safety pin; and you can find lots of great Embellishments at RRR as well.
The other product I used on this card, and one that I used on almost everything, is the wonderful Adhesive called Scor-Tape.  This stuff is AWESOME, and it always holds things securely in place to stand the test of time, mailing, and....grandchildren.  It's a really great Adhesive for sure.  Really Reasonable Ribbon really does carry many fabulous products - ribbons and so much more.  We hope you'll stop by RRR to look around.  And don't forget to join us on the 13th for our Blog Hop.

Happy crafting,
Karen
