Summer is Flying by...

I don't know about you, but I blinked and it was the end of July already!  How does that happen?  Anyway, we are cruising in to Autumn crafting already.

Really Reasonable Ribbon has lots of delicious Autumn Ribbons in great colors and textures for all your projects.
My card features a pretty bow made on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using 5/8" Tangerine Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon and 5/8" Brown Plaid Ribbon.  I also tucked two strands of Jute String in the back of the bow which adds a bit of a rustic look.

For a video tutorial on how to create this lovely bi-color double-loop bow, please click HERE.
The dies I used are from the all NEW Happy Turkey Day set from Cheery Lynn Designs.  Cheery Lynn Designs is showcasing their new Fall and Winter Holiday release this week, so head over there to see what's new.
I just love the beautiful color palette of Autumn and the cooling temperatures.  I am looking forward to the upcoming months using oranges, yellows, browns and deep red colors.  What is your favorite season?
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  For more information on other products used on my card today, please visit my Make Time to Craft blog.

Paper Bag Mini Album

Welcome back to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, everyone!  It's me, Karen Letchworth, sharing a quick little paper bag album today using several of my favorite ribbons, trims and flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  As I've mentioned before, Really Reasonable Ribbon has their Paper Bags on clearance, and there aren't a lot left in stock.  For the cover of this album, I used a true vintage (very old) button card, a small wooden embroidery hoop, and I embellished it with a small folded piece of 1.5" Champagne Netting, Burlap Center Stitch Red Ribbon, Red Burlap String, Ivory Burlap String, a Deep Ivory Open End Rose, a Red Open End Rose, and a Two-Tone Ivory and Pale Pink Open End Rose.
The Paper Bags I used for this mini album are from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and as I've shared so many times; paper bags are a fabulous resource for making mini albums.  Mini albums are the perfect gift when you want to give more than just a card; but you don't quite want to go out and spend a lot of money on a gift.  And....mini albums are so personal, and they show your recipient that you cared enough to hand-make their special gift.
I used two Paper Bags on this mini album.  I placed strips of Scor-Tape on the back side of the bags where I wanted to attach them.  I also used the Scor-Tape on all the pages to adhere the patterned paper backgrounds you will see through the album.  It's a super versatile tape, and it works great on mini albums.
On the second page (first inside page), I attached a piece of patterned paper, a mini wooden ruler, a length of Debra Natural Crochet Lace, and a small journalling spot that's topped with a button tied with Black Licorice Baker's Twine.  When making these very small albums, it's good to keep your pages very simple.  Really Reasonable Ribbon makes it very easy to add small touches of trim without overwhelming the pages.
Page 3.....again, very simple.  I added paterned paper, Chloe Natural Crochet Lace; and I tucked a journalling tag in the pocket that has Solid Red Baker's Twine and Black Licorice Baker's Twine tied to it creating a pull-tab so that you can pull out the journalling tag and use it as a photo mat.

The next photo you see is Page 4.  This page has paternd paper, a journalling sticker, a flair button/pin, and some Black Licorice Baker's Twine wrapped around it and tied into a sweet litle bow.
And finally, Page 5 (the final inside page) of the album.  This page has  a piece of gingham patterned paper, a small ephemera red heart, a journalling sticker, and a long length of Cherry Baker's Twine that I wrapped around the page several times.

I hope this has inspired you try making a Mini Paper Bag Album of your own.   Just fold the bags in half, attach them, cover them in patterned papers, and embellish them as you desire....of course, using LOTS of great Really Reasonable Ribbon ribbons, trims, flowers and more.  They really do have everything you need to make something wonderful.

And don't forget about our CURRENT CHALLENGE taking place now on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  We would really love to have you play along with us.  Thanks again for stopping by.

My Friend

Welcome back bloggers and I am excited to share my card using this gorgeous 7/8" Double Faced Satin Old Gold ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used the Zutter Bow It All bow maker from Really Reasonable Ribbon to make this bow and added an antique gold brad with a pearl in the center of the bow.  The Zutter Bow It All comes with instructions on how to make this bow and also Bonnie Garby has fantastic You-Tube video online.

I highly recommend using the Scor-Tape from Really Reasonable Ribbon to apply your ribbons and bows onto your cards.  The tape remains sticky to take the ribbon or bow off and on your card until you get the ribbon and bow arranged the way you like it.

Also from Really Reasonable Ribbon are the gorgeous Wild Orchid Craft flowers that were used on this card.

Other supplies:
Sue Wilson Designs die:  Ornate Oval My Friend
Sue Wilson Designs embossing folder: Pin Point
Crafter's Companion:  White Gold Glimmer card stock

Thank you for stopping by and I always appreciate a comment.  Come join the fun with Really Reasonable Ribbon challenges and you might become the next winner.  The Really Reasonable Ribbon design team really appreciates all of your comments as well as seeing your beautiful cards posted on these challenges.  Our design team members have new cards posted each day on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Facebook and Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog of inspiring ways of using these gorgeous ribbons along with the other stunning flowers and supplies to give your card that "WOW!" look.

Vintage Floral Doll

Good Day All,

Deborah here today showing you a tag I created using a few ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.   I used Cotton Blend Vintage Pink Floral , two different seam binding colors Vivid Pink & Moss, one of the pink ribbons from the Diamond Satin Assortment Pretty Pink, and Arianna Natural Crochet Lace.  I also used Wild Orchid Craft Trellis Roses Mixed Pink Tones.

Well here is the 1st step I did - I took my Julie Nutting Stamp using tuxedo black Momento ink and stamped it on the Cotton Blend Vintage Pink Floral. Then I fussy cut the dress out from the ribbon.

Here is a close up of the JN Doll with the Cotton Blend Vintage Pink Floral
I glued it down to the JN Doll, added some tiny pearls to the dress and to the doll's
neckline for a necklace and colored the bottom of the dress, and used glossy accents
on the hairband and the bottom of the dress.

Here is the tag. I really had fun creating this tag and using so many assorted ribbons
from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store. I also created a little tag on the very bottom
using one of the pink ribbons from the Diamond Satin Assortment Pretty Pink. I used a brad
to attach it to the small tag and I created the little envelope for it to fit into so it pulls out.
I used the Arianna Natural Crochet Lace at the top of tag and layered it up at the bottom.
The seam binding Vivid Pink & Moss are tied together at the very top, I really like how
the pink and moss look together, it's just so pretty.

Here is a close up of the beautiful Trellis Roses I used.  I just love these roses.
Aren't they just stunning, especially used with the Arianna Lace. I created the rosettes
first using a needle and thread, then glued my roses on top of them. I thought it
was a great addition to the vintage look I was going for using the Graphic 45 paper.

Here are two more flower rosettes using the beautiful Arianna lace rosettes I created.
And I glued the roses on top of the rosettes.  You can also see how doubled the lace up
on the bottom, below the roses.

I thank you all for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to give the stamping technique a try using the Cotton Blend Ribbons. Also try using that beautiful Arianna Lace to make rosettes which is another lovely way to enhance your projects. You can find all the items at Really Reasonable Ribbons.
Wishing you all great day,
Hugs,
Deborah xxx

Hello!

Hello ribbon fans! Today I am sharing a card with one of my favorite ribbons -- Double-Faced Ivory Satin. It is a DREAM ribbon and adds elegance to any project!
I am quite a novice at using my Bow-It-All, but am learning a little more each time I tie a ribbon. Bonnie has some simply wonderful tutorials on different bows and designs she makes, and they are really helpful for a visual person like I am. BUT -- you MUST have this tool if you love bows! It makes it very easy - even when you don't get it quite right at the beginning!
I tied a double loop bow for this project using the yummy Ivory Satin ribbon, and help all of my layers together with 1/4" Scor-Tape (another MUST-HAVE!). The papers and ribbon and pearls remind me of a sweet Bed and Breakfast that we stayed at recently - from times gone past!

Are you a Ribbon Club member yet? If not, you need to RUN (yes, run!) right over and join! We have a new collection coming out in a few days and you will love it!

Balmy Breeze and Sage Green Satin

Hello, Friends!  Kathy here to share an idea for a nautical birthday card

I paired Heartfelt Creation's Balmy Breeze papers with gorgeous Sage Green Satin Ribbon, Natural Burlap String and Ivory Burlap Woven Ribbon.  I love all the wonderful texture and shine this adds to the card.

If you haven't worked with Woven Burlap Ribbon before, I highly recommend it.  For the header on this card, I just gently separated the tightly woven fibers to get this lovely open weave.

The flower is hand made using the Botanical Roses stamp and die from Heartfelt.  I colored it to match the gorgeous sage green satin ribbon.

A panel of designer paper and a simple stamped sentiment circle complete the card.

Nautical roses and sage green ribbon make me ridiculously happy.  How about you?

Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

Another Birthday & More Gorgeous Than Ever

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday to all! Cheryl here today, and I am sharing a card created for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the Beautiful Shimmer Satin Ribbon.  LOVE this ribbon from RRR store, and there are LOTS of shades of this beautiful Satin to choose from.

On my card I chose to use the Shimmer Satin in Light Orchid.  I also used some White 1.5" Silky Crush ribbon, and then the some Bakers Twine.

Flowers are cut with JustRite flower dies, then dusted with dusty concord distress ink. I then used the Glass Flower technique on these.

For the leaves I used Really Reasonable Ribbon's 30mm green leaves, and dusted those with StampinUp! Kiwi Kiss ink.
My sentiment was stamped in the dusty concord distress ink as well, and then I airbrushed around it using copic BV00. The button I used is an OLD wood button.

I hope you enjoyed my post for today!!!
Thank you for stopping by!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

Paper Mache Trinket Box Tutorial

Hello, all our ribbon-loving friends, and welcome back to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  Today I (Karen Letchworth) am sharing a quick and easy tutorial for making a treasured Trinket Box for someone special.  I started with one of those cheap little $1 paper mache boxes you can pick up at your local craft store (Michael's, JoAnn, etc.).  I painted the box with black chalkboard paint (two coats), and the top (lid) with cream acrylic paint.  Then, I added a light layer of Mod Podge to the top of the lid and covered it with vintage sheet music.  I trimmed it down into a perfect circle covering the lid.  I used a pink crystal knob that I got in the dollar bins at Michaels and attached it to the top of my trinket box so that the person can easily lift off the lid.
Once I had the box painted and covered the way I wanted it (you can use any colors of paint or papers to cover your box), I wanted to make it really "over-the-top" beautiful and special.  The best way I know to accomplish that is to grab some of my FABULOUS ribbons, trims and flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon and get busy decorating it.
I used two lengths of Black Seam Binding, two lengths of Baby Pink Seam Binding, a length of Black Burlap String, a bow tied using Cotton Candy Baker's Twine, and a small double bow tied with Black Micro Gingham.  They all look so lovely together, don't they?  For my final touches, I added two Ivory and Pale Pink Open End Roses, one Black Open End Rose, and a 30 mm Green Paper Leave.  I stamped an image in black ink on a small grungy prim tag and attached it with a stick pin.  Pretty simple, huh?
These little trinket boxes make such lovely gifts, and are such a super cost-effective way to give someone a very special, heart-felt hand-made gift they will love and cherish.  I made one for my Mom; and she keeps some jewelry in it, and displays it on her bedroom dresser.   The whole point is to have fun and be creative.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has all the perfect colors of Seam Binding, Burlap String, Baker's Twine, and Mulberry Flowers to help YOU create a trinket box just like this one (or in your favorite color scheme).  I'm always more than happy to answer any questions you might have for me about how I made this box.  Our entire Design Team is here to help answer any questions you might have about using Really Reasonable Ribbons creatively.

Thanks so much for visiting today, and don't forget about our fun CURRENT CHALLENGE taking place now.  We'd love to have you play along with us, and we really enjoy seeing your wonderful creations.  AND.....don't miss out on our CURRENT SALE.  Details are posted on the RRR Facebook Page.
