classic white...

School has begun here and back to daily uniforms for my little men. Each day they choose from red, green, blue or white polo shirts and shorts. My favorite, if I had to choose...the classic white polo shirt. There is something about those shirts that make me want to buy out the store and keep a stock pile at home. Sure...they don't stay that way for long (although thank goodness for stain lifters!). To me, it is worth the five dollars that goes into each one. So as I send them off today, keeping my fingers crossed no finger painting takes place during this school day, I wanted to play with a few white trims and ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon on my project. The white satin ribbon stands out amongst the other colors so brilliantly. Added a little white lace and light blue pom pom trim.

PSA 'End of Summer' Blog Hop Winner

This is the second post of the day. Be sure to scroll down to see the great project Cheryl made for us today.

Hi everyone and thanks so much for joining us for the PSA End of Summer Blog Hop.
The winner has been announced over at the PSA Blog, so be sure to head over.  It could be you!!

Sorry about the bland look of this blog post, but we were in the path of Hurricane Irene over the weekend and although we were lucky and didn't have any damage to our home or office, there are many trees down in the area and we will be without electricity for most of this week.  Thanks to the kindness of friends we have a generator running and now that the essentials in the office are rewired, we are up and running and there will be no delay in shipping orders so if you are in the mood to shop, go right ahead.  :)

We ask you to bear with us as there are a few things that we cannot do at present, but we are still processing and shipping orders daily with no delays.  There may be a slight delay in reponding to emails because we are concentrating on processing orders first.

Thanks so much everyone and enjoy your day!

Bonnie

Buttons & Bows

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday to all! Today I'm sharing a Candle Jar I decorated with Really Reasonable Ribbon (TONS of BEAUTIFUL Ribbon)

So I had this candle jar that I used up the candle in and I save all my jars like this for buttons and such. Anyway, this one has been waiting on my sewing station area to be decorated for a while now :) I'm super happy with the way it turned out.
I've used all Really Reasonable Ribbon and they are all sooo beautiful.  I will list and link below
Really Reasonable Ribbons Newest Silky Crush
For the top of the jar I used the Silky White Crush ribbon and OMgosh let me tell you this is BEAUTIFUL Ribbon, I LOVE it!!! So easy to work with and beautiful to the eye! On top of that I used the Pink Double Faced Satin in 5/8" .  I also used the Pink Leaves.  I added an Angel charm to the lid.
For around the Jar I used the Double Ruffled White ribbon (LOVE this too) and the Double Faced Satin again.  I made another double bow using the Silky Crush and Satin.  I added a love charm to it!

I wanted to get a lot of different pictures to share the beauty of all the ribbons I used :) I also used some Wild Orchid flowers, wedding stamens and some other wedding things for the bow on the front of the jar.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Birthday Girl!

No, today is not my littlest one's birthday, but it is very soon!
Next Thursday as a matter of fact!
She will be six years old...and of course...all six year old girls still think they are a "Princess" right?
(Well, I am not going to be the one to burst her fantasy bubble, so I nurture the childhood dreams of "Princess~hood"  LOL.)
In honor of her birthday,I made her a birthday pin to wear all day long to tell the world that it is HER DAY!

I used:

Notice ALL the ribbon I used is inch and a half width?
I did this to show you all how you can use your wider width ribbons.
When Bonnie asked what sizes everyone used, I could not believe that so few of you use the larger sizes! Those are my FAVORITES! lol
(Actually, I do not discriminate against ribbon...I love it all!)

I also used thickers and a cute little cupcake chipboard piece from Little Yellow Bicycle...which just so happened to match her birthday outfit PERFECTLY!!!

Here is an up-close of the bow layers...

And here she is wearing her complete "Birthday Ensemble"!

After modeling this for me, she was all giddy and giggly saying...
"I can't WAIT for my birthday now!"

She is certain to be the "Princess" on her special day,
and wearing this beautiful pin, she will FEEL like a princess!

I hope I have inspired you all to USE those larger size ribbons!
They are so fun and so versatile...and quite honestly,
you just can't go wrong!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting us...
Have a FANTABULOUS day!

Guest Designing with Really Reasonable Ribbon!!

Hello everyone! This is Bev Gerard (a.k.a. TexasGrammy), and I am tickled pink to be here today as a Guest Designer for Really Reasonable Ribbon! If only you could see my smile! My heartfelt thanks go to True and Bonnie.

My first project started out as an idea to give to a friend. Surely you've seen the office cubicles that divide up many office areas with shoulder-height padded walls. Many times the residents of such cubicles are permitted to add personal touches to their space. Thus, I've created a "cubicle hanging" ... or as shown in the full photo, a wall hanging. Oh so easy-peasy! I used Spellbinders Labels Nineteen to cut a chipboard shape, and also the same shape from some Heidi Grace designer paper and coordinating Prism cardstock as well. This awesome ribbon is from the "Shimmer Satins" assortment. Ohhhhhh this stuff is divine!

These metal buttons have been hiding in my stash for a long time. I love the way heat embossing adds a special beauty to sentiments, so the scripture is silver embossed.

The fabulous "Shimmer Satin" assortment is also the source for the gorgeous green ruffled ribbon on my next project. I've had this idea on my mind for a while, and even though it took a little twist while I was working on it .... I think I just might have found my next birthday "stash" card.

The scallops were cut with an MFT die-namics die. The cardstock scallops were also dry embossed with an SU embossing folder for a little texture. I hand stitched a line through the center of the luscious ribbon, pulled to gather it, tied a knot and it was so easy to lay a strip of adhesive in a line and place that ruffle right where I wanted it.

It has been my sincere pleasure to have been asked to share some ideas with you here today! I hope you enjoy the projects!
