4th of July star with RRR Bow

Hello crafty friends and Happy Friday to you all! Today I wanted to share my 4th of July star with Bow I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the gorgeous ribbons that Bonnie carries in the shop.

for my bow I used the Patriotic candy hearts on white grosgrain ribbon, I also used an older blue ribbon that Bonnie use to carry and then the red dot ribbon 1 1/2"

It's been awhile since ive made a big bow like this, and love how it turned out.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day! Hugs to all, Cheryl

Old Glory

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Independence Day is peeking around the corner, so I thought I'd share another patriotic vintage card with you today.  This would look great on your July 4th buffet table, wouldn't it?

I've used Patriotic Plaid Ribbon along with Airmail Baker's Twine to make the bow.  Then I amped up the patriotic vibe with Mixed Blue/Aqua/White Chrysanthemumsand Mixed Red and White Cherry Blossoms.   I like to alter the Cherry Blossoms by opening the petals flat, but they are pretty any way you use them.

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July celebration!

It's Your Birthday!

Good Morning all our Ribbon Loving Friends!

Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here with you today sharing a super fun and super easy birthday card.  NO...I am not the card maker of the bunch...however, I am trying to be more pro-active when it comes to giving cards for special occasions.  I am not the type to go to the store to search through hundreds of pre-made cards looking for the "perfect" one...it's just not my style.  I AM, however, the type to MAKE that perfect one, despite my inadequacies of card making! In my opinion...

HANDMADE IS ALWAYS BEST!!!!

That being said...I want to share with you the card that I have put together for a very special 24th birthday girl coming up soon.

For this card, I definitely went WAY over the top...but hey, that's what I do! The products that I used from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store are the 3/8 grosgrain rainbow striped ribbon, the silver metallic string, and the 10mm mixed color open mulberry roses

I wanted to include a couple of gift cards, but I wanted to make sure that they were not difficult to remove from the sleeves.  Therefore, I hot glued a couple of ribbons to the backside of each gift card before inserting them into their sleeves. NO, the hot glue does not harm the integrity of the cards, and YES it is easily removed in order to use.  It just peels right off!

The 3/8 grosgrain rainbow striped ribbon was the PERFECT accent to this bright and vibrant card!  TIP: When this ribbon is trimmed, it wants to fray jut a tiny bit.

You can use a lighter on low flame to heat seal the ends.  GENTLY touch the flame to the ends of the ribbon very quickly and the heat seals those frays.  DO NOT stay in one place for too long, as your ribbon will definitely catch fire.

Once everything was all finished up, I noticed that the card did not want to stay closed, so I pulled out my handy dandy silver metallic string and wrapped it around the center of the card two or three times and then tied a simple bow in the center.  The simple bow is for easy removal...just untie it...AND it can be easily reapplied.  I mean, anyone can tie a bow in a string, right!?

The last thing I need to do is to browse Bonnie Garby Designs and find the PERFECT Birthday Sentiment to go inside. She has so many options to choose from, this will likely be the most difficult part of the entire card!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!  I enjoyed making this card, and I know the birthday girl will love it.  I also hope you got some inspiration from it...maybe you can get a little bit crafty today!

Just head on over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon store and start filling your cart!

What's Up Chickie?

I just love cute things, and these chickens are adorable (in my opinion anyway), so I couldn't wait to use these sweet new dies.  Really Reasonable Ribbon always provides me with the perfect accents for every project.  I actually made four of the chickens because there are four in the set.  However, I quickly realized that all four chickens wouldn't fit on a regular A-2 card.  It would have had to be a slimline, so the one little (pink) chicken didn't quite make the cut.  LOL
That's why I decided to make a matching tag.  I die-cut a tag from the same patterned paper that I used on another chick.  I added some of the die-cut chicken wire and then placed my pink chicken on the tag.  I added a length of both Orange Baker's Twine and Cherry Baker's Twine to the top of my tag as well as a bow tied with Olive Green Wrinkle Ribbon.
I used black cardstock for the base and then white cardstock that I both pressure embossed with a Darice Embossing Folder (difficult to see) and then die-cut with a Darice chicken wire die.  I used various patterned paper scraps to cut these cute little chickens.  I used orange cardstock for their legs and red cardstock for their gobblers.  I used lots of fabulous Scor-Tape to secure everything in place.
The stamped sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.  I used Moss Green & Cream Gingham Ribbon on my card, and that's also from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The sentiment was stamped onto a Fishtail Banner Die.  It's fun to use products from different companies, and this card combines several.  I love the texture and pizzazz that ribbons add, and Really Reasonable Ribbon has the best selection.
This was a really fun card to make.  Don't miss all the wonderful products waiting for you at Really Reasonable Ribbon and all the wonderful inspiration you can find on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  Happy crafting, and thanks so much for visiting us here today.

Blessings,
Karen

Happy Gift Box with RRR

Hello crafty friends and Happy Wednesday to you all! Today I have this fun little gift box I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the gorgeous Taffeta ribbon, just love how it makes such a gorgeous bow on top of the box.

I also used on my box some scar-tape to add my design paper pieces, some foam tabs to add the cute little bear, and some twine to tie my tag on top. The bear I had done a couple years back and it was ready to use, so that made this come together quickly.

You Are My Sunshine

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Here's a sunny summer card that's sure to brighten your day.  Pink and yellow is one of my favorite summer color palettes.  So I tied a pretty bow with 3/8"  Maize Checkerboard Satin Ribbon and topped it with with a loopy Pink Burlap String Bow. Then I tucked it behind a summery Mixed Peach/Orange/White Chrysanthemum and Red/White Cherry Blossom floral cluster.  It really brought the summer vibe to this pretty little card.

Hope you all get to go out and enjoy some summer sunshine today!

kathy

Get WILD with Ribbon

Good morning and happy Friday! Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here sharing a new bow with you today. Actually, I pulled out my assortment of Gingham ribbons with the intentions of making a card. Clearly that did not work out at all! Once I had the 1.5 inch Black Gingham  in my hands, it spontaneously began turning into a hair bow all on its own! My ribbon just went WILD!

I started with the 1.5 inch Black Gingham and 1. 5 inch Black Grosgrain.  For this one I decided to walk on the WILD side and I pulled out the zoo animal prints!

I used the Bright Pink Zebra Stripe Grosgrain ribbon alongside the 3/8 zebra print grosgrain add the 3/8 inch black giraffe print ribbon. Oh My goodness!  Just laying the ribbons together makes me happy!  I knew this was going to turn out wonderfully!

Once all the pieces were assembled, I added in the marabou feathers...and then topped it off with the zoo animal buttons that I had in my stash. Aren't they the cutest!?

Do you have any spontaneous projects that you'd like to make? Go ahead and give yourself permission to explore your WILD side! Head on over to Really Reasonable Ribbon and start shopping for the perfect ribbons.  RRR is just a click away and you can fill your cart to your heart's content!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I hope that I have inspired you to get crafty with some ribbon! Have a wonderful and crafty weekend!

Happy Birthday To You

It's always FUN to make and send a Birthday card to someone special.  I love using sentiments from Bonnie Garby Designs along with trims and adornments from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This sweet little card combines both perfectly into this easy little Birthday card for someone important in my life who deserves a sweet card.
I used black cardstock and some older Doodlebug patterned papers to create my card base.  I pieced together the background with plaids/ginghams and found some coordinating trims at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The trims I added across my card, at top right, and on the bow include the lovely Black & White Bold Gingham Ribbon, and Solid Deep Pink Baker's Twine.
The sweet birthday sentiment I used is from Bonnie Garby Designs, and can be found in the Birthday Greetings 3 Stamp Set.  The crisp images are always eye-catching, even when I rub oxide inks over them.  I also used an older stamp set to add the additional arrow.  I used Scor-Tape to attach most everything, and I also added some Faux Pearl Accents.
Thanks so much for visiting me today.  It's always great to hear your thoughts about what I made.  It's also great to hear what FUN things you've been doing with ribbons lately.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has so much to offer....from ribbons, trims and laces to adhesives, flowers and more.  Please visit again soon and happy crafting, y'all.

Blessings,
Karen

Top Note Purse with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello crafty friends and Tuesday to you all! Today I wanted to share this fun little purse I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the gorgeous Delicate Satin ribbon, Scor-Tape and some embellishments.
I used the old top note die from SU and then used some old design papers and dew drops to decorate. The ribbon is the gorgeous Delicate Stitch, and I then added a half back pearl, and a pearl strand for the handle. I love making these and they are perfect for adding little treats to gift, or even a gift card.
