Fancy Folds Card with a Fun Gathered Ribbon Accent

Hi there everyone.
Bonnie here from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Imagine my surprise when I clicked over to the RRR Blog today to see the post and realized it was my assigned day to post!!  WHO did that??  Oh yeah, I'm the one that schedules the posts. [sigh...]

I'm sharing a card today that I made a while back and it never made the blog.  Then at the end, I'll share a little of what has been taking up all my free time for the last month or so.

I really love making 'action' cards - cards with lots of folds, or pop-ups.  They are really not that hard to do and the recipient is usually quite impressed.  :)

This card is very nicely embellished with Jade Diamond Satin in two gathered rows.  What a great look and it's so easy.  Just lay down a strip of 1/2" Scor-Tape and start pressing the 5/8" ribbon on to the tape while gathering it.  Easy-peasy and that Scor-Tape holds like crazy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, what is my excuse for being unprepared today.
Welllll.............
We are remodeling our kitchen!!!
[finally!]
Hurray and groan all at the same time!!  Hooray will be for when it's done, but in the meantime it's like camping in your own home!
I have been without a functioning kitchen for a month now, but we are getting close to the end.....!!
The photos below are of the finished kitchen/dining area floor.  Hubby and I installed it.  It's pre-finished Hickory flooring.  We are doing much of the work ourselves.  (And by ourselves I really mean hubby is doing it and I'm supervising - I actually helped lay out the floor though!)
Our wall oven is now installed in a cabinet in the opening in the stone in the top photo.  It looks real purrrty too!
The hole with insulation on the wall is going to be a window [someday...]
So these photos were taken about a week and a half ago.  The cabinets are now all installed and most of the appliances.  The granite countertop is scheduled to be installed this week and then the sink.  The wonderful, glorious kitchen sink.  I never truly appreciated my kitchen sink until it was gone!  Ladies, hug your kitchen sink today and tell it you wouldn't want to live without it.  It's the truth!!  :)
I'll update with more kitchen photos on my next post.  The cabinets are just  gorjuss!!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Banner Birthday Card
Really Reasonable Ribbon March 30 03
Hello, all you lovers of fabulous ribbon! I'm back with another fun way to use Really Reasonable Ribbon. This scrumptious peach organza ribbon has been making its way onto a lot of my spring cards. It was the icing on the cake for my banner birthday card.
OK...so it's not really exciting when you see it like that...but how about when you see it this way:
Isn't that fun?
Really Reasonable Ribbon March 30 02
I created layers of paper banners for this cute chalkboard card. I made the flowers with a die and stamps from Heartfelt Creations. It looked really cute, but it didn't quite feel like a celebration. Then it hit me! Get out that roll of peach organza, twist the ends, secure it with glue dots, add some peachy bows to either side and VOILA! Instant party atmosphere!
I even used a little bit of it on the inside of this 6" x 6" side fold card.
And, because I was having so much fun, I created an envelope to match.
Now who's ready for cake and ice cream?
Thanks for stopping by! Your visits make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers!
Pink, Red, Purple Birthday Card
Happy Saturday! I am so glad you've decided to stop by and excited to share a card with you all - I have been working on a lot of birthday cards since I needed to refill my card stash. We can never have enough birthday cards on hand, right? (Just like we can never have enough ribbons!!)
The card I am sharing today is super fun and feminine. I just love the warm colors it carries. I have been "collecting" these awesome hemp cords that Bonnie carries at her store (I still need to get a few more to complete my collection set) and wanted to use some of the wonderful colors on a card. I took out the Pink Hemp Cord and Lavender Hemp Cord and created a card around them.
I used some of Distress Ink Pads for the background and gave it a water-color look for softness. I wanted to highlight the hemp cords and these background colors came together nicely. Don't you think so? I wrapped the cords around twice together, and tied a bow.
I really don't think I can ever have enough hemp cords! I hope you enjoyed today's card- Thanks for stopping by and make sure to grab some of those awesome Hemp Cords!
hugs,
Nicole
Double Up The Checkerboard
Good morning to all the RRR followers and fans.  Jenn here with you today.  I have a fun card with the focal point being the Tangerine Checkerboard Satin Ribbon.  I LOVE this ribbon for several reasons.  For one it is just really pretty.  Another reason, this satin is so easy to tie into bows.  I really like making double bows as you can see from the one on the front of this festive card.  It also makes gorgeous triple loop bows too.  I like to use the Bow It All found in the RRR store.  If you have not seen it in action I have a couple of videos on my YouTube channel that I show how to tie bows using the Bow It All.
Thanks so much for joining me today!
Easter Tag Tutorial
Hello Peeps!!
Heather here and I hope you are having a fabby day!  I will have to admit that I am soooo ready for Spring!  Yesterday it was sunny/snowy/sunny/snowy/sunny...and again snowy!  Unbelievable!  So...again I will say that I am SOOOOO ready for spring!
Thank goodness I have so many lovely Springy Colors of Ribbons to choose from at Really Reasonable Ribbon!!  The best news is
Bonnie has a SALE going on RIGHT NOW!!  You can get all the deets here!!
Here is an Easter Tag to get us all into the Spring Groove.
I used a couple different sizes of mulberry roses in blue, deep ivory and baby pink!
I started out with a couple of my tag bases.  Cut them out, glued them together and inked the edges with Ranger's Frayed Burlap.
 I inked a doily with the Frayed Burlap to give it a nice vintage look and placed it on my fancy tag base.
 I cut off the excess.
 I used my crop-o-dile to punch a hole at the top of both tags, and the sides of my fancy tag base.
I used some of Bonnie's fabby Pink Gingham Ribbon to create a bow across the front of my fancy tag base.
Next I layered one of my Bunny Bingo cards with a medium and small Easter Egg image.  I added Tombow foam tabs to the back of my eggs and one placed on top of the pink gingham.
Please refer to the photo below for placement.  The additional tag will slide in under the ribbon, and fit under the egg images as well.  The small egg will rest on theTombow foam tab that is showing and part of the medium egg.
I layered one of my Easter Journal tags onto my tag base.
Next I took a couple of my Vintage Easter Tickets, punched a tiny hole in them and tied them to my fancy tag base with both Cotton Candy .....
Teal Baker's Twine.
Next I started to plan out where I wanted all of the beautiful Mulberry Roses to go.
I also decided to add a button tied with more Cotton Candy baker's twine.  I also added a bit of it to the top of my tag too.  Then I placed a Two-toned Blue bow that I made with my Bow it all tool to the top of my tag (slightly offset, so that the other tag will still slide in under the ribbon).  I decided to add an Easter Blessing tag to the fancy base as well, so when the other tag is removed, it will still be fantabulous!!
I did tuck in a couple of my favorite moss green leaves under the mulberry roses!!  Next I started to add some glue with my fine tip applicator...and applied Fauna, Cheeky pink and Arbor glitters to my base tag and images.
Chamois glitter was added to the Easter Blessing tag.
I thought I would add some beads next to my flower clusters on my pull out tag.
Of course some Celery glitter to match my moss green leaves.
Even the tiny Vintage Easter Tickets are getting a little glitter.
Here are a couple photos of the finished tags.
Home Mini & Video
Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a mini album and video to share today. For my mini album I used tons of Really Reasonable Ribbon in the Gingham Print.  I LOVE this print and ribbon. I also used Lace, and Pom Pom Mini Trim as well.
These are the first two pages and I used Gingham and Mini Pom Pom Trim here. I also used the beautiful Sweetheart Blossoms that Bonnie carries in the store. They can be found here. On all the pages I used the CottageCutz dies throughout this album too. The pockets, fence, bunny, and flowers are all CottageCutz dies.
On these two pages I used more gingham ribbon, in yellow, green and blue. Also more of the darling Sweetheart Blossoms were used here :)
The design paper I used is Family Ties Paper Pack.  It's Pebbles from American Crafts.
In my video I show all the tags and pages. This album was super fun to make and pretty easy too. It's been a long time since I've done a video and album.
