What's the Buzz?

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  What's the buzz?  My gardens are buzzing with the fattest, happiest bumblebees I've ever seen. And that's what inspired me to make this bee themed card with ribbons from the July Ribbon Club Assortment.

I love to use ribbon to create borders on my cards.  Ribbon adds texture, color and design to a project, and it's such a quick way to amp up the elegance of any creation.  For this border treatment, I layered Bold Yellow Check Ribbon over Daffodil Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon. Here's how:

  • First, figure out where you want your ribbon border to be.  I wanted mine near the bottom so that it would look like the bee hive is sitting on it.
  • Next, wrap your card panel with 1/2" Scor-Tape.  Let the ends hang over a little bit so that you can wrap the ribbon around to the back of the card.  This makes for nice, neat edges.
  • Now lay your Daffodil Delicate Stitched Satin over the Scor-Tape and burnish to make sure it's really stuck down well.
  • Repeat this process with 1/4" Scor-Tape, adding it right in the center of the Daffodil Delicate Stitched Satin.
  • Then attach the Yellow Bold Check Ribbon over the Scor-Tape.
  • Wrap the loose ribbon ends around to the back side of your card panel to keep everything looking neat and tidy.
See? Easy peasy!  Add a few buttons to the ribbon border to really make it pop.

Tie a matching bow with the Daffodil Ribbon and tuck it into the flower cluster.  Then tie a bow with natural burlap string and glue it into the mix. Fold a scrap of Yellow Daffodil Ribbon in half, cut fish tail banners and add it on top of the knot.   Top the whole bow cluster off with another button and you're done!

Here's a peek at the inside.  I added the last bit of the Bold Yellow Check ribbon to the front of my tea wallet.  And I tucked a honey stick into the pocket on the bottom of the card.

I hope you have a sweet as honey kind of day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Honey Card by Cheryl

Hello crafty friends and Happy Monday to you all! Today I have this super sweet card I designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using their gorgeous ribbon, flower embellishment, and adhesives.  I really had a lot of fun designing this card and hope you love it!
On my card today I added many layers, all put together using Scotch Advanced Tape refill.  There are four design paper layers (popped each using foam squares) and then die cuts on top of that. I do love working with lots of layers, it's always so much fun for me.

Next I chose my die cuts, and there are a mix of those. I chose to use this darling "You're My Jam" die and stamp set that has the shaker jam, flowers, bee, and sentiments, all from My Makers Movement. Next I chose some old design paper that was one of my favorites back in the day....hehehehe.  It still is my favorite, well one of them anyway. I used these swirl leaf dies to layer on my card along with a frame that I cut in half. I airbrushed the flowers and then added the Really Reasonable Ribbon pearl flower embellishments to the centers of each flower. My little bee was stamped and then cut out using the coordinating die, and then added some Stickles to his wings. I really love how this card turned out and it makes me want to make more with this darling set. Lastly I added a bow using the gorgeous Pearl Pink satin ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Today Is Special - Just Like You

Hello, everyone, and welcome by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  It's your friend Karen sharing here today, and it's my actual birthday.  I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to share a sweet card I created using some FAB products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Whenever I make a card, I love to add some ribbon or twine to give my cards extra dimension and pizazz.  I can always find the perfect ribbons and trims at Really Reasonable Ribbon because they carry literally every color and style you can imagine.
I used some gold foil cardstock from my stash as the base.  I added a piece of patterned paper with some gold accents in it.  The top layer is a piece of basic white cardstock that I decorated by using a stencil and some gold Deco Foil Metallix.  It gave the background a nice shiny gold pattern along with some great texture.  I used another scrap of white cardstock and the same stencil to create the background pattern (in Spun Sugar Oxide Ink) on the sentiment spot.  I embossed the sentiment in gold.
OK....let's get to the FUN stuff.  Once all that ☝was done, I ran a width of the pretty Raw Silk Satin With Metallic Edge across my card and tied a bow with it.  I layered in some bundled and knotted Gold Metallic String.  I tucked in a White Mulberry Leaf and added several Miniature Pastel Sweetheart Blossoms.  I just LOVE the fact that Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect trim or accent for every project, and their prices are SO reasonable.  When you see a ribbon or trim on one of projects that you like, in most cases; that trim almost always comes in different colors and widths.  The assortment is truly amazing, and you're always going to find what you need.  For instance, the Raw Silk Satin With Metallic Edge I used on this card comes in over 40 different colors.  Just sayin'.
Thanks so much for visiting the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog today.  There's always lots of great inspiration here as well as information about special sales and promotions.  We hope you'll stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon and treat yourself to some of their wonderful products.  You'll LOVE what you find there.  Happy crafting.

Blessings,
Karen

Sweet and Simple Cards for 12 Days of Christmas in July

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here with some sweet and simple greeting cards.  Try as I might I just am no good at clean and simple so my version is sweet and simple....meaning not as much as I usually do  lol.

I created these cards as part of our 12 Days of Christmas in July video tutorial series on my YouTube channel.
I've paired the A Gingerbread Christmas collection from Echo Park with some patterned kraft paper for extra gingerbreadyness.

I worked similar elements onto all the cards so they would all be different but still coordinate.

The A2 size is perfect to keep me from piling all the things on so it stays simple.

Won't you join me for a tutorial?

Great projects on the hop!
It's been in the 90s and low 100s here in northern CA. We have had to run the A/C more than we like.... but occasionally we head over to the beautiful Lake Tahoe area to cool off for the day! It is only about an hour and a half away from home, but it is usually a good ten degrees cooler!

Now if you didn't win, don't worry!! We will be 'hopping' each month so you'll have another chance to win soon! We hope you stop by and visit our blog often.

Dragonfly Daze Shaker Card

Ciao Bella Microcosmos Shaker Card by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Sweet summertime is finally here with blue skies, warm breezes and delicate dragonflies hovering in the air around us.  I always  marvel at the beauty of a dragonfly's wings!  How about you?

The July Ribbon Club comes with this gorgeous Turquoise Taffeta.  Ooh, la la!  It is the perfect match up for the flirty dragonfly on this shaker card cover.  A little silver metallic string adds just the right amount of sparkle to the mix.  I love this stuff so much I buy it by the spool!

Do you ever use ribbon inside your cards?  I love to find ways to add it in unexpected places.  It seems to "tie" the front design to the inside...pun intended!

This time I've used it to top a bookmark and as a closure on a mini folio.  Adding little bits like these to a card turns it into a gift.

I hope you are all enjoying a lovely summer.  If it gets too hot, you can always come inside and play with ribbon!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Friend Loves Card

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you all! Today I have a super sweet card I designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the gorgeous ribbons and flowers and supplies from the shop. I do hope you enjoy my post for today! Thank you.

On my card for today I chose some K&Company design papers I have in my stash and did three layers, adding sewing to each one. The layers were put together using the Scotch Advanced tape refill, and then I popped each layer using the foam squares. Next I chose to use this darling bird house die that is an old one from Cheery Lynn cut out in coordinating design papers.  I then added the Cherry Blossom, Open Rose, and Rose Buds to it, along with some swirl leaves. Lastly I stamped an ODBD stamp sentiment on the middle layer. I love how simple this card was to make. Hope you love it!

So Very Blessed

Welcome by, everyone.  It's Karen here, and I'm so grateful to have you visit us today as I share a sweet little card I made using just a few of the THOUSANDS of beautiful products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  When it comes to ribbons and trims, Really Reasonable Ribbon has it ALL.  But that's not all they carry.  Nope!  There's SO much more waiting for you at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I started this card by using a white cardstock base and a couple of random patterned papers I had lying around on my scrap table.  I love to utilize paper scraps (snippets) and try to create something from the sweet little leftovers we all seem to accumulate.  I used Scor-Tape to adhere together all my papers.  Next, I ran a width of Cream Seam Binding across my card where the two patterned papers meet (to cover the seam).  Then I wrapped lengths of Solid Light Pink Baker's TwineSolid Deep Pink Baker's TwineSolid Yellow Baker's Twine and Solid Bluebonnet Baker's Twine across my card and tied a pretty bow with a piece of each.
I topped the bow with a Blue Sweetheart Blossom and Mixed Pink Miniature Sweetheart Blossoms.  I also tucked in a small Mulberry Leaf.  My stamped sentiment is from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps and was stamped on a journalling card from my stash.  The finishing touch was adding three Fabric Covered Buttons from the Embellishments section.  LOTS of great products and endless creativity await you at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
There's always lots of great inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, and we'd LOVE to have you join us on the 13th of every month for the RRR Blog Hop.  Thanks again for visiting me today, and I hope you have a wonderfully creative week wrapped in RIBBONS and BOWS - from Really Reasonable Ribbon, of course.

Blessings to you,
Karen

Joy Card for Christmas in July

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! Despite the high temp for today being 94 and the humidity through the roof I am happily in my shop celebrating Christmas in July.  Of course it's not snowing...but I have an iced tea and the air conditioner on  so I'm about as happy as an elf at the north pole.  Unintentional short joke on myself lol.

This scene card is created with stamped and colored images.  Oh how I wish bunnies wore scarves and hats!

The winter scene has pretty snowy hills created with dies and glitter cardstock along with a snowflake border.

This perfectly coordinating poinsettia flower is finished off with floral stamens and a loopy bow of wrinkle ribbon.
