My Last RRR Post~Thanks, Teacher

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I can't believe this is my last post as a member of the RRR DT!  I have had such a wonderful time on this team, and I just want to say a huge Thank You to Bonnie for giving me the opportunity, and for sending me so many gorgeous ribbons to play with!  I love them all!!! 

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week for us, so I thought it would be fun to decorate a bag and make a tag:)  I used the PTI sets School Time and School Time Additions for my stamped images, some Cosmo Cricket Togetherness dp, and some fab Red Gingham Ribbon and Brown Sugar Baker's Twine.  I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by!

Paper Mache Gift Bag and Videos

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to all!  Today I'm sharing a Paper Mache Gift bag I decorated using Really Reasonable Ribbons (lace, trim ,wrinkled ribbon and satin ribbon) to make flowers, handles and a bow.

All flowers were made by me. Most are paper but there are 3 that are made using paper, Really Reasonable ribbons, lace and trim. I have a video below on that and links to all ribbons used.  The others were made using Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch diecut. I will have 3 youtube videos shortly.

 I've also added some buttons.  There are brads in the centers of the other flowers I made with paper. I used seam binding ribbon in blue for a few scrunchey flowers and for my bow.

Im also adding a video on my Braided Handles (You can make these for cards,layouts, photo books)I made for my bag. For these I used 1" brown satin ribbon and 1.5" wrinkled ribbon all from Really Reasonable Ribbon! :)

One Last Project

Hi there Really Reasonable Ribbon fans! It's Aphra here today with my last RRR post. I've had such a terrific six months on the RRR DT. I've met some fabulous crafters, learned some great techniques, and acquired an amazing collection of ribbon. And even though this is my last post, I am not saying goodbye because I'll still be checking out all the inspiration and hopefully playing along in some challenges. Alright then, on to my project.

Just Because Gift Bag

The actual gift bag was cut from kraft cardstock with my Cricut Expression Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. It's the perfect little bag for a gift card. Love it!

After adding a 3.5" wide strip of patterned paper, I used some Scor-Tape to add two strips of 5/8" Bright Pink W/White Stitched Edge ribbon. I like how the ribbon finishes off the edge of the paper, adds some texture, and mimics the dashes on the paper. Easy too! Then I embellshed with a layered flower (a scrunched strip of 1" x 12" paper added to the back of a couple of tags), a button, and some Apple Baker's Twine. Add a gift card and some tissue paper and you are done!

Better late than never ...

Hi everyone.  I'm a few days behind this week, sorry.  Something unexpected came up and I had to go away for a few days.  (Thank you Bonnie for being so understanding.)

This is my last Tuesday post as a DT member for RRR (sniff sniff!  LOL), but I just wanted to say what fun I've had being part of the great team here over the past 6 months.  To say that my ribbon addiction has thrived as a result is an understatement!  (I think DH secretly thought I'd get it out of my system once and for all, but he was wrong!)

Anyway, I've been wanting to make a ribbon flower like this for a long time and all this wonderful "purple-ness" was too good not to share with you today, so I hope you like it.

I'm so looking forward to seeing what the new DT is going to show us all, and wish them all the best (and the returning girls too of course).

Folded Ribbon Rose Tutorial!

Hello! Connie here, and I have a fun video tutorial for you today for a Folded Ribbon Rose! You can see a picture of the final results in the picture above. These roses were created using some pink stain with grosgrain edge ribbon from May Arts. I then added them to some 30mm snap clips which are also from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store!

Okay, now before you watch the video...I just have to say, this is such an easy way to create a ribbon rose. My 7 year old daughter watched this video once, and the next thing I know she had gone in her room, grabbed a piece of ribbon and created a rose all by herself. So trust me when I say this is really a simple technique with an amazing outcome each time!

**a quick edit, I got a few comments saying that when they pulled the tab at the end, it kept going and never stopped. I tried a few things and think it has to do with your first fold. When making the first 90 degree fold make sure you have it folded so that the top of the ribbon folds over the bottom and is now facing horizontally to the RIGHT. If it is facing horizontally to the left, it will not stop and you will pull you flower right out. No clue why...it just does! LOL!! :)**

A Fond Farewell

There are so many wonderful opportunities and gifts in this world that every day is truly a blessing. From the moment that I became the first design team member for Bonnie, I knew that being a part of Really Reasonable Ribbon was a gift indeed. It has been a wonderful ride and an experience that I shall never forget. The artists I've had the pleasure to work with, the challenge sponsor products that I've had the opportunity to use and the friendships that I have experienced don't get any better.

Hello Everyone, Erika Taylor here today with my final blog post as a Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team Member. Today I thought I would share with you some of my favorite projects that I've created using Really Reasonable Ribbon.

These little roses were created using Hand Dyed Silk in Rudbeckia and California Poppy. It is a container that I altered to carry a bunch of my mixed media trinkets.

Next some of the prettiest chocolate brown ribbon Ive ever seen. Creating bows with this ribbon is a dream indeed. The 5/8 Satin/Grosgrain Double Band ribbon is so versatile.

How about a little glitter? I adored this Glitter Green Ric-Rac as soon as it came out of the bag. The perfect bit of pop for any card. (And this stuff is on sale right now too.)

Lastly a card to express how much being on this team has meant to me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I hope that the new Design Team gains as much as I have from being a part of Really Reasonable Ribbon. Thank you so much for everything Bonnie. It has been a great ride.

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

For my last posting as a member of the DT at Really Reasonable Ribbon, I wanted to show you this little criss-cross card which uses some of my very favorite ribbons/trims. The double bow at the bottom is Coral Grosgrain topped with light Peach organza. For the top of the pull-out card I also used some Moss Green Leaves trim. These ribbons and trims are available at RRR in so many colors and widths---have a peek and you will be so surprised!! The little Belles 'n Whistles image at the wishing well is very appropriate for my fond farewell to the RRR Ramblers' blog.

First I would like to thank so many of my FOLLOWERS who have also become followers at RRR Ramblers' blog--it was always such a joy to see you arrive here and to see you participate! Next I would like to thank Bonnie for the wonderful opportunity she afforded me over these past months to use such exquisite products and to always be so generous and helpful. I also extend my very best wishes to the DT members who are remaining on the team--it was a genuine pleasure to serve in the DT role with each of you! And to the new DT members, best wishes to you also because I know you are going to really enjoy the fun here and the opportunity to work with Bonnie will be such a joy and pleasure to you!

April - A Perfect Spring Month

  Hello everyone, this is Gayle Martin and I am thrilled to be the Guest Designer for Really Reasonable Ribbon for  the month of April. Thank you all for allowing me to work with your wonderful product selection at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  When I saw all of the choices and colors I had a hard time making a decision on what I wanted to work with. My final decision....do a little shopping.
I chose the Baker's Twine because there is such a fabulous selection of colors. I absolutely could not pass up having them all.


This is a perfect month to show you some table decorations that can easily be made with a few recycled discards from your kitchen and some paint from your craft room. 

These are created with jars that you probably toss every day. I painted the inside of the jars with regular light blue acrylic paint that has been diluted  ( just a little with water). You will actually see that in some of the jars I watered down the paint a little too much and it separated on the inner wall of the jar when it dried. I then had to add an additional coat of paint to the interior of the jar, so that it would be completely covered. This time I used a light green paint over the blue paint.       

 To finish off the jars I tied a tag to the jars with Baker's Twine and Seam Binding. The Seam binding is held in to position on the jars with Helmar 450 Adhesive.

 When I told my mom about the project that I was working on she gave me  some of her old bottles for my project. I decided not to paint them and just allow the milky glazed glass to show. I printed vintage cards off of the internet for some of the bottles. This project could easily be adapted to fit the theme of your holiday of party.

April is a really busy month around my house with birthdays and anniversaries.  There are three children with birthdays in April; my daughter and my 2 nieces.   My parents also have birthdays and they will be 79 and 80 years old this month.
I thought I would be creative and come up with some fun birthday cards using items I had at home and my stash of Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I have been looking at all of the cards and it is a little intimidating. I am not usually a  card maker but thought it would be fun to give it a try.

I have been mailing them daily to my daughter for her Birthday Week as she calls it.

The birthday cards are ready for the Queen Bee's of the Month and I have used an assortment of Really Reasonable Ribbon to embellish them. For card, scrapbook pages or projects Gingham's are definitely a go to for my projects. But I like to mix it up and had an assortment of ribbon to use. This is the collection of ribbons I used for these cards are Stitches, Gingham's, Organza, and Baker's Twine.










The Baker's Twines are one of my favorite embellishments  for pages and packages and Really Reasonable Ribbon has a wide assortment of colors in their assortment. The collection of 12 colors has 60 yards for only $9.49 that is a great deal. 

Another way to use the  baker's twines are on your scrapbook pages. This page featured the Orange Bakers Twine included in the assortment package.


I can already see that I will need to order more of these beautiful Baker's Twines. I have only touched the surface of what I would like to use them for.

Let's Celebrate!

Hello!  I have a fun little birthday card to share with you today.  I have been wanting to ink up this adorable image from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps called Celebrating Chloe.  Isn't she so cute?  I found some fun, colorful papers in my stash~a combination of Echo Park Paper Co. Little Girl and Cosmo Cricket Cherry Hill.  This Satin/Grosgrain Double Band Celery Ribbon from May Arts goes perfectly with my colors and I tied my handmade buttons with some Orange Baker's Twine.  I really like how it came out, and I hope you do too!

Decorated Tin w/lid

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to all!  Today's post is a covered tin I decorated for a Secret Sister Easter Swap. Of course my Sis already received it :) I've used tons of Really Reasonable Ribbon on my  tin.

The ribbon I used is Polka Dots Green 3/8 and 5/8.  I also used some white  pleated trim 1.5" found here (LOVE THIS). I used the ribbon around the tin and also used the other polka dot around the lid.  I've tied the ribbon around the handle and made bows for the front of my tin :)

 These are super fun to decorate.  I really enjoyed decorating this tin. The flowers I used are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the checked dp is Close to my Heart, and the flower dp im not sure who its by, its sooo old, I found it in my scraps. The stamped image is from Belles N Whistles.

Hippity Hop

Easter's on its way! And I have a cute little Carrot Cone Treat Holder to leave for the Easeter Bunny or to share with a friend.

My carrot was constructed using a tutorial that I found HERE at Jana Eubank's blog. The paper, border sticker, and mini alpha stickers are all from Jillibean Soup. The ribbon is Moss Green 1/4" Grosgrain. I love how it matches the green decorative tape so well. So fun! And then I used Orange Baker's Twine to attach my little tag. Just the perfect little touch!

Can Crochet Lace be Masculine? :)

Hello! As you can see by the title of today's post, I have a question...can crochet lace be masculine? Well, you can decide based on my card today! I have used some 1.5" Brown Crochet Lace from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store! I have also added a bit of natural jute string to the Tim Holtz snaps on the bottom of the card.

This fabulous moose image is from the Father's Day set from Our Daily Bread Designs. The DP is from Prima, and the sketch I used on this card is from this month's I Heart Sketches.
