Winter Wishes

What are your Winter Wishes?  Today I'm sharing a card that I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon that showcases a fabulous NEW stamp set and some lovely trims as well as some of MY Winter Wishes.  To be perfectly honest with you, my "Winter Wishes" are much the same as my general year-round wishes.  While I love getting new crafty items (stamps, dies and ribbons), spending time with family, and enjoying the Holidays; my priorities and wishes will always remain centered around my relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I used a cream cardstock base and I layered it with several fun patterned papers from the Bundled Up collection by Crate Paper.  I cut the Winter Wishes tag and added some FABULOUS Baker's Twine at the top including Solid Red Baker's Twine, Solid Teal Bakers Twine and Solid Ivory Baker's Twine.  Those of you who know me best are aware that I LOVE Baker's Twine for it's multi-purpose usefulness and the fact that it comes in many beautiful colors and costs just ten cents ($0.10) per yard.

On the Crate Paper tag, I stamped some of my "Winter Wishes" using a FUN NEW stamp set from Creative Worship called Wordfetti Mash-Up.  I stamped the various words/phrases in different colors of ink.  I used lots of Scor-Tape Adhesive to secure all my papers securely in place.  This is an awesome Adhesive, and it comes it various widths to accommodate various projects.  I also added a length of 1/2" Robin's Egg Wrinkle Ribbon to my card, and I topped that with another length of Solid Red Baker's Twine and a sweet 2-Tone Light Turquoise Open Rose.

Christmas is Coming

It's hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner.  I'm SO unprepared this year.  Last year, I had all my shopping done very early and had a real grasp on it all.  Not so much this year.  I'm behind on everything, and at this point, I kinda don't care.  I just want to enjoy family and not worry about all the shopping, baking and decorating.  Yes, I'm being lazy.  LOL   However, I'm not behind on my crafting.  That's one thing I always have time to do.  And all the wonderful products from Really Reasonable Ribbon help me to get the job done every time.

I used basic white cardstock to stamp everything.  I used stamps from The Greetery including the Ornament Box Top Vertical Rubber Stamp for the frame.  I don't actually own this stamp, so I borrowed it from my BFF, Patti Lyn.  We've been friends for over 55 years now.  She mailed it to me to borrow, and I don't want to return it....LOL.  It's SO cute.  I used the adorable Curio: Attic Ornaments Die and the Pine Dies for the foliage.  The middle ornament is raised up using 3-D Foam Tabs from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Each ornament was tied with a different trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used a length of Solid Apple Green Baker's Twine, Cotton Candy Baker's Twine and Iridescent String to tie the tops of the ornaments.  I know I say this a lot, but Baker's Twine is AWESOME.  It's just ten cents ($0.10) per yard and it comes it so many great colors - both striped and solid.  I used lots of Scor-Tape to hold everything securely in place.  Scor-Tape is an awesome Adhesive, and it comes in a wide variety of widths to work with every project you can imagine.  Really Reasonable Ribbon carries so may fabulous products.

Autumn Is Here

It's your friend Karen posting here today.  I've been having a lot of fun lately making cards that include some cross-stitching on them.  It's always so nice to know that Really Reasonable Ribbon will always have the perfect trims and Embellishments for every card I create.  They also carry the perfect Adhesives to help hold everything in place securely to stand the test of time.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has a bit of everything we need as crafters....and then some.

I used black and pumpkin cardstock pieces for my base, and I layered that with a piece of simple cream cardstock that I cross-stitched.  I found the (free) cross-stitch pattern on Pinterest.  I changed a few things to make it fit, and I used DMC floss colors that I had on hand.  Once my stitching was complete, I placed the image on my card securely with pieces of Scor-Tape.  I cut the blue border using the Scallop Border Dies from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

To accent my cross-stitched image, I used a three of my favorite sweet trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon including a length of Brown Plaid Ribbon, Sharon White Crochet Lace and Solid Pumpkin Bakers Twine.  I tied a bow using another length of the Solid Pumpkin Bakers Twine and placed a Plaid Flatback Cabachon over the bow.  I added a few Double Head Stamens and some Mulberry Leaves.
