Heart Shaped Keepsake Box

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share a heart shaped keepsake box.  The box was a thrift store find and was painted dark blue.  I wanted to give it a softer vintage look so I covered it in some favorite papers and added a seam binding bow.  I've used white seam binding that has been misted with Glimmer Mist.

How Do You Like Your Easter Eggs? Decorated in Ribbon, Please!

I like mine all decorated in Soft Spring colors just in time for Easter!  Happy Good Friday, Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share a super simple idea, just in time for Easter.  If you have kids in your life, this is a perfect craft for them as well as you :)
Start with either ceramic eggs that can be purchased at a craft store or make some hard boiled eggs and decorate them.  I have both kinds on hand and decided to use the ceramic eggs so I can use them from year to year.
Gather some of your favorite ribbon, tulle, flowers, lace and  Quick Dry Adhesive.

The little pillars can be purchased at a craft store in the cake decorating department.
The ribbons I've used are Swiss Dots Grosgrain Pink and the aqua floral print that's in the March Club Assortment.

These are a perfect way to add some Spring decor to you home.

Doll House Bedroom Set

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share my Doll House Bedroom set.  Have you seen the new collection, "Little Darlings", by Graphic 45?  As soon as I saw the sneak peeks of this line, I knew it would become a favorite.  I actually drove for 6 hours in snow and ice to get my little hands on this!  I had no idea of the weather forecast when I took off for Archivers in Des Moines, IA...but I have it now and I made sure I bought plenty to last me for awhile.  LOL!
It was well worth the trip and I've made several projects already.  I've used Really Reasonable Ribbon, Beatrice White Crocheted Lace for the trim on the bed.  Love the laces and trim that Bonnie carries in the store.  They're the perfect width for so many projects!

See why I'm smitten with this line?  Every single paper in this collection is just gorgeous!

Keepsake Shadowbox

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share a "Keepsake Shadowbox".  I've used  White Seam Binding that's been dyed with tea and another bow using Pink Seam Binding that has also been tea stained.   Seems to add to the vintage feel when it's been stained a bit with some tea.  I've added a vintage pearl earring to the center of the bow and then scattered some pearls on random areas in the box.

Favorite Recipes Album

Hello Really Reasonable fans!  Jan here to share a Recipe Album.  I've used Cherry Baker's Twine on the spine as well as wrapping it around the recipe cards.  The die is called "Shadowbox Die" by Accucut.  All the little vintage images are Crafty Secrets.
Have you applied for the "Really Reasonable Ribbon" Design Team call?  You still have time to get your application to Bonnie, so don't delay :)

All Dressed Up!

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share a porcelain doll that's made using cardstock, fabric and lace.  The delicate lace at the bottom of the skirt and on the straps at the top is Penelope Natural Crochet Lace.
While shopping at thrift stores, I spotted two wedding dresses and they were $1.00 each!  WOW!  The lace that is layered on the skirt is from one of the dresses.  The tiny buttons are part of my vintage button collection. The doll was also a thrift store find and she was $6.00.  She was dressed in shades of lavender.  I removed her clothing and carefully took the dress apart.
Here she is with a new wardrobe.
Close up of the back of dress.
Here's how I started.
Remove clothing.
Using a seam ripper, take the seams out.
Lay pattern pieces on satin fabric, pin and cut out.
I used Graphic 45, Once Upon A Springtime cardstock.  I taped two pieces of cardstock together and prepared it by brushing a generous layer of Liquitex, Matte Medium.  This will make the cardstock, fabric-like. I used the skirt pattern and cut the skirt on the prepared cardstock.
Sew lace to the bottom of the skirt.
Mist the back with water and do a fan fold to crease the skirt.
Sew peach tulle on the skirt, then the large piece of lace on the skirt.  Assemble the dress and add buttons.

Sew Simple Fabric Pouch

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here today to share a simple little fabric pouch.  I've used a white flour sack towel and Aqua Baker's Twine.  Our local Dollar Store is always well stocked with towels and they work perfectly for small projects.  Using scrap pieces of the towel, I diecut flowers and added a vintage earring to the center.  To finish it up, I added a bit of fiber fill and some sweet treats.  Using a large needle, I made a loose gathering stitch at the top and then tied it shut with a bow.  I've used Aqua Baker's Twine.   Before filling the bag, I stamped a vintage sewing machine and sentiment.

A Sweet Treat Tin

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share a "Sweet Treats Tin".  I've used the January Club Assortment and the Bow Easy.
Monthly Ribbon Club, Domestic

Here's the inside.

Here's how to make your own.
Start with a window tin.  Protect the window of the tin by placing cardboard over it.  The heat embossing tool may melt the window otherwise.

Using Versa Color Ink pad, rub the tin with some ink, and heat emboss using Cable Car Red Embossing Powder.

Rub random areas with Versa Color and heat emboss areas with Earthtone Pepper Embossing Powder.

Heat emboss a metal trim piece using Cable Car Red.

Cut a Vintage Image to fit the top portion of the tin.  Add a piece of white lace to the top edge of the metal trim piece.  Adhere the image to the trim.

Adhere this piece to the window.

Using the Bow Easy Tool, make a small bow.

Adhere a pearl heart to the center of the bow.

Adhere the bow at the top of the metal trim piece. Embellish with pearls and a heart gem.   Add sweet treats and a vintage image to the inside of the tin.
