Milestone Birthday Card Folio

Hello, Friends!  How do you feel about the color purple?  It's one of those colors that people are rarely neutral about.  You either really love it or you don't.  I've grown to really love the rich hues and saturated tones of this color.  And I used a ton of it on this vintage style milestone birthday card.

The 3/8" Grape Plaid Ribbon from the April Ribbon Club adds the perfect finishing touch to this box style card.  One of the things I love about 3/8" ribbon is that it's great for tying bows with multiple loops.  The Zutter Bow it All Tool makes this task extra easy.  I honestly don't know what I would do without it in my studio!

I love the way the ribbon picked up on the lighter shades of purple in this paper and brightened up the dark hues.

This box style pocket on the inside of the card has room for lots of treats.

When you have this much goodness stuffed inside a card, the card becomes the gift.

Milestone birthdays should be captured on film, so I created a little accordion style folio to tuck inside the pocket.

You can tie more of that pretty Grape Plaid ribbon around the photo album to hold it closed, too.

I hope I've shared some ideas and inspiration that you can use in your next crafty adventure.  Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Lambs, Bunnies and Chicks Shaker Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Kathy here with a sweet little vintage style Easter shaker card that features the Coral Rose Small Check Plaid ribbon from the April Ribbon Club Collection.   White Iridescent Metallic String adds just the right amount of sparkle and shine to the bow cluster.

This shaker card is also an easel, so it's perfect to add to your Easter Home Decor.

I've added a little pocket, chocolate treat and mini note card to the pocket inside the card.

With all the social distancing going on, I think it's more important than every to surround ourselves with pretty things to help us celebrate this wonderful holiday.  I hope this post has added a little cheer and beauty to your day today.  Stay safe and well!

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Have you had a chance to play with the April Ribbon Club Assortment yet?  This elegant Yellow and Grey Mix is like sunlight and shadow, and I just love how chic it is!  Today I've used the Charcoal Shimmer Satin and Yellow/Grey Chevron Stripe Grosgrain to adorn this shabby chic beauty of a card.

I love the way the Charcoal Shimmer Satin grounds all the bright yellow hues in this 5" x 7" card folio.  The soft shimmer is so elegant!

I love to add a little ribbon inside my cards as well.  It creates texture and adds an extra surprise for the recipient.

The side pocket contains a 4" x 6" magnet.I used the Charcoal Shimmer Satin and Yellow/Grey Chevron Striped Grosgrain to create a border on the bottom of the magnet.  Then I topped it with a sweet little bow and posy combination.

TIP: Use Scor-Tape to attach ribbon to paper.  It's quick, neat and easy.  And it holds everything perfectly in place! I attached the 1/2" wide Shimmer Satin with 1/2" Scor-Tape, and the grosgrain with 1/4" Scor-tape.

I hope I've shared some tips and ideas that you can use in your own crafting adventures and inspired you to get your craft on.

Thanks for stopping by!

Aqua and Coral Bicycle Card

Hello Ribbon Lovers!  Remember being a kid and getting to take your bike out of the garage after the long, cold winter?  What a glorious feeling of freedom!  Today's card reminds me of how fun it was to be a kid and just play all day!

The Aqua and Coral Ribbon Club Assortment is the perfect playmate for this fun card.  I used Coral Rosel Bold Diamond Print Satin to create a header, then topped it with a bit of white crochet ribbon.

I love to use ribbon to pull out secondary colors in a card design.  See how this Aqua Plaid Ribbon brings out the aqua tints in the bike wheels, button and stripes?  I tell you, ribbon is magical! Pop a pretty magnolia blossom on top and you're ready to roll!

Here's a fun way to use up those small scraps on your work table.  I've layered several together to create a fun design inside the card.  I also added a small teabag holder on the left.

Have you played with this month's ribbon club yet?  Boy, are you ever in for a treat!  Wishing you lots of time to get creative!

Wishing You Card

Hello everyone and Happy April to all! Today I have a sweet card I made using the BEAUTIFUL ribbon from this month's Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon! LOVE the colors in this months kit. It's an aqua and coral mix.
Not only did I use Really Reasonable Ribbon, but I also used the Sweetheart Blossoms that RRR carries, and each layer is popped up using Foam Squares also found at the RRR online store.

The design paper I used is Graphic45 Sweet Sentiment, love this paper, it matches perfect with this month's ribbons.  The flowers were made using Cheery Lynn Shasta Daisy die, and then airbrushed using Copic markers. I'm loving the airbrushed look on the flowers, I think it's my second favorite, as glass flower technique is my first favorite way to make flowers.

I stamped the sweet sentiment from HC, love this one, and this card will be mailed to a family member :)
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek! Hope you have a super awesome week!

hugs
Cheryl

Your my cup of Tea Gift Box Set

Welcome everyone to the RRR Blog today.  It's Teresa here and i am sharing a little tea gift card set that i did with some of the Satin with Gross grain ribbon in coral and Burlap string. My base and inspiration for this was a new stamp from Penny Black called April in Paris with lots of roses and an eiffel tower so i thought of tea and a fun card set to give away.

To make this i started with a clear acetate box that i had in my stash and i created a belly band to wrap around it with Spellbinders Belly Bands Two.  Then i cut and embossed a red patterned piece of paper with Spellbinders Curved matting basics for both the back and then another in ivory to stamp on.  I stamped the image in black Tsukineko Versafine ink and embossed it so that it would pop more with clear embossing powder from Stampendous.  The Your my sweet cup of tea stamp is from Taylored Expressions and i stamped that in Tsukineko Versafine ink in Crimson red to match.

To color my image i used Copic markers and tried to shade the roses so that they too would stand out.  The beautiful satin gross grain ribbon bow was the perfect touch for the side to finish it.

And inside of my card i made a cute pocket with another of my favorite SB dies.  It has a really pretty cut out design that makes a perfect pocket to tuck in a few tea packets and maybe a gift card to go to the local tea shop for treats one day.

Thanks so much for stopping by and i hope that you like it and get inspired to make one.  Mother's Day is right around the corner and this might be great to do for the special Moms or Mums in your life. Have a very, very nice day!

Day 5 of our RRR/ Crafty Secrets Event

Hi Everyone, it's Teresa here today and it's day 5 with our Really Reasonable Ribbon and Crafty Secrets Cross Promotional Event.  I hope that you all have had lots of fun checking out all the projects so far and have found some wonderful ideas with our DT and the Crafty Secrets girls too.

Today I have some fun projects to share that use digital images and wow are they ever amazing. They have so many images and such beautiful papers and all kinds of things available in their store to chose from.  We got to pick a few images to print and I made a few cards and a pretty bookmark with mine.
First I am sharing one of the mini cards that I did.  The image I picked has lots of gorgeous pieces on it that you can use to make lots of things and I always need small cards to tuck in my gifts so these were quick and easy and perfect to make up and have on hand just in case. I also made the mason jar candle holder for a gift and used the Swiss dot satin ribbon in a pale pink with one of the big WOC wild roses on it.
This tall image made the perfect bookmark.  All I did was layer it with matching papers and some ribbon from RRR and it was done. The lace ribbon is from the Ribbon Club Assortment for this month and of course a little green gingham for a pop of color.
For all my projects I used the Digital Garden Printables from Crafty Secrets that has all the images that you see in my projects.  I love how all these each printed out so vibrant and the prints are so, so pretty.  I really love them. I used the lindsey white crochet lace to add a little softness across the bottom of the image and a bow and then I used seam binding ribbon in a soft shade of lavender to match with the colors in the image. The flowers I did in pink, purple and a pretty white chrysanthemums that is also from RRR.
Here is a close up so that you can see all the colors and the ribbons, flowers, and lace that I used on it. The flowers are purple cosmos and they come in lots of other colors that you can see here.

Be sure and check out all the other projects up on the RRR Blog this week http://www.reasonableribbon.blogspot.com/ for more ideas and also the Crafty Secrets linky party too.

Thanks for stopping over and be sure and stop back tomorrow for more inspiration from out team for you all.

Really Reasonable Ribbon and Crafty Secrets: A Perfect Match!

Hello, Friends!

It's Kathy here with Day 4 of the fabulous Really Reasonable Ribbon/Crafty Secrets Cross-Promotional event! I'm working with the fabby April Ribbon Club Assortment.

I am so in love with these dreamy ribbons, and they inspired me to create a sweet little altered tray that will look wonderful as part of my springtime decor.
This Solo Tray measures 6" square, and I've lined it with beautiful vintage papers from the Crafty Secrets "Creating With Vintage Typography CD #3." Because these are digital papers, I was able to size them to fit my tray, which is super convenient.  I trimmed out the top half of the papers and put them in the largest opening.  The bird from the paper was fussy cut and mounted on foam tabs to add dimension.  Next, I covered the top edge of the tray with  1/4" Scor-Tape and added the beautiful Aqua Scalloped Rose Grosgrain Ribbon on top.  It is the perfect match to the corals and aquas in the paper!
Next, I went to work to create the little vignette by filling the bottom with Spanish Moss, an assortment of Prima and Petaloo flowers, a darling little bird nest, miniature pocket watch and a piece of star anise.  I trimmed out some little postage stamps from the Birds and Blossoms Digital Creative Scraps.  I used my Zutter Bow-it-All to tie a double layered bow from luxurious Light Coral Satin with a Grosgrain Edge.  It adds just the right amount of shine!
I added more images from the Creative Scraps to the openings on the top of the tray, then created a banner using Natural Jute String and beautiful Rose Diamond Papers from Crafty Secrets.  Itty bitty clothespins were the perfect finishing touch.
I have a tutorial that shows how to create the banner today on my BLOG. You'll also find a link there to the Crafty Secrets April Linky party.  There's a free downloadable image and digital paper and information about how you can join in the fun and perhaps win a $25 shopping spree at the Crafty Secrets online store!  I hope you'll hop on over and have a look around!

Thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designer - Charlene Merrick

Hi, my name is Charlene Merrick, and I was tickled pink when Bonnie asked me to be the Guest Designer today for Really Reasonable Ribbon! I have a few projects to show you here, as well as one more on my personal blog, wheremmsgather (yes, I'm an m&m candy addict). I chose to use various ribbons from RRR's pretty Welcome Spring collection from RRR's April Ribbon Club Assortment for my designs. Since I was tickled pink, I chose this beautiful pink checkerboard satin ribbon for my first project.

I used this cute Sweet n Sassy image, from Cocoa's Tasty Treats, coloring it with Copic markers.  The darker card stock is a deep Bazzill Brown, although I know it looks black in my photo.

Not only did I make this card, but I also decorated a gift box to go with it!  I love making/decorating gift boxes to go with cards I give to friends and family.  This pretty designer paper is from Handmade Memories Paper Pack by Hot Off the Press.  Isn't that checkerboard pattern in the ribbon cool?  I love it!

The following close up photo shows how I looped the ribbon on the gift box.  Since I don't own a sewing machine, I held my loops together with Scor-Tape (love that stuff!)  I used the same designer paper and my scallop punch to make the flower to attach on top of the ribbon.

And here's the card and gift box together!

My next card features the pretty lavendar and blue ribbons from the Welcome Spring collection.  Instead of using designer paper, I used these lovely ribbons to ground my pretty tulip, which is from A Year of Flowers by Gina K. Designs.  I adhered the ribbons to the white card stock with Scor-Tape and the color coordinated brads (which I just happened to have in my stash).  I colored the tulip with Copic markers and used an embossed tulip frame on the white card stock.  My base card is Stampin' Up's retired Perfect Plum.

Thank you for viewing my projects.  Hopefully, they've given you some inspiration for using RRR's beautiful ribbons.  AND, don't forget, I have yet another project on my personal blog that I'd love to have you check out!!  Here's a sneak peek of it:

Have a terrific day!
