Ribbon Banner Tutorial

  Hi there...it's Ginny here with another easy peasy tutorial. This time I'm going to demonstrate how to make a great little banner with trim, and twine and my favorite  adhesive....Scor-Tape! The best part of this banner is you can easily adjust all the  pieces to fit perfectly onto your project : )

See...told ya it was easy. Now here is the project I created with a ribbon banner just like this one.

I choose the beautiful Diamond Satin Shell Grey ribbon, Pink Gingham, and Cotton Candy Bakers Twine for my banner and 1/4 inch Scor-Tape.

There's more of the pink gingham in the big poofy bow along with Pink Wrinkle Ribbon .

I choose to ink the pink trims to give them a shabbier look to match the vintage feel of my card and finished it off with some sweet little bows at the ends and real vintage buttons.

Scrapping with Hemp

Good Morning everyone!   Misty here today to share a couple of Scrapbook layouts with you that I did. I have been one super scrappin' chickadee lately....and I am finding that my main "GO TO" item is hemp. I am using on almost everything!  Below are my two most recent layouts using the fantastic hemp from the RRR store:

And here is a close up of the cluster:  All I did was make a few loops with the hemp and used some quick drying glue to glue it to my layout before adding the flower.  Adding the hemp adds co much more focal interest to the layout! I also used it on my tag and up in the top corner.

Hemps are so easy to use and versatile! Try adding some to your next layout or card...you will love the results!

sucker pockets...

HI there!  January is whizzing by ...which means Valentine's is on its heels.  I thought I would share  a little tutorial on making some cutesy lollipop pockets.  First off grab your favorite papers, embellishments, and your Really Reasonable Ribbons and lets get going!
1) To start cut your papers 5 x 12 and score on the 6 inch line to fold up to create your pocket.   2) Use a corner rounder and round off your corner edges.  Than stitch up your sides. 3) Start adding your goodies.. like labels and borders 4) add your glitter chipboard hearts or whatever main image you would like to use and than wrap your ribbons around and tie a big yummy bow .  I of course, like usual, added another layer to my bows using hot glue.   5)  Next just keep adding your embellishments.  I added a few stickers and hearts to the top for interest and added buttons to the top of my large hearts.   6) Almost done...next just add a few little cute embellishments to your suckers.  I added sweet cupcake sentiments, to and from tags, and cotton candy twine .  All you have left to do is nestle your suckers inside!  Ready to go! 
This would be perfect for the kids this Valentines or maybe as a treat for a favorite teacher!  Hope you enjoy!  Hugs, cherry

BEE MINE

I love Valentine's Day -- almost more than any other holiday! It must come from my incredible love for chocolate and being romantic at heart.  :) The love for bee things is a little different -- I am very allergic to bee stings, but for some reason, just love the dies, stamps, and little bee knickknacks I find. As long as they aren't real, I am good with them!

I made this valentine greeting using dies from CottageCutz. I had originally started to make a typical yellow and black card using my new cute little Bumblebee Mini Die, but then I took a pink turn (which happens frequently since it's my favorite color) and made my card into a valentine instead.

The Scalloped Doily provided a fun background for my Prima pink flower. I sponged Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo on the bees' wings for a little depth. 

A little Anastasia White Lace (new in the RRR Store!), wrapped around the narrow panel and with a bow, added a sweet texture to match the doily. I love this lace!

I do enjoy watching real bees as they fly from flower to flower in the spring and summer. These bees are buzzin' around to wish you an early Happy Valentine's Day~!

Inspired by Nature

  Hello, friends!  Vivian here today to share with you a card I recently made that's all about spring.  I love birds' nests.  On the few occasions I've been able to observe them up close, I've been amazed by their shapes, how skillfully they've been woven.  Those brief encounters have made me want a human sized nest of my very own!  Seriously!  

  I was messing around with my Really Reasonable Ribbon's Leaves, White Trim, and discovered that I liked it best when coiled into an abstract nest like the one I have in my card. Keeping my focal image white helped it stand out against the background I had crafted.

Now that I've found how beautifully it coils, I'm going to order myself a whole lot more of this beautiful fiber!  I hope I've inspired you to try it out, too!  It's available at the shop in a great variety of spring colors!   Fibers:

Dots make our world happy!

 

Hello, my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this  is my second  post as RRR guest designer for January. I already made cards, an altered bag and a box. So today I am going to show you simple and lovely projects that can even be made with kids (10 years old girls will love it a lot).

All you need is this gorgeous Swiss Dots Bright Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon, wooden spools- small and one medium, tacky double sided tape, some old beads and some jewelry bases.

Let's begin with a necklace.

This is what we call "tie a knot" beading and you need about 3 yards of the hemp – I used the thin one from Bamboo Cord Multi Weight Set as some of the beads have small holes only.

Fold your hemp in half and make a knot, then begin to add beads and make it totally random. Add one bead over the double string and then add one on one string only, make another knot and so on. But now, as you can see, the most colorful part of this project is those covered with dotted ribbon wooden spools. The size on the small spools is just perfect for the ribbon width in this collection. Use your ScoreTape to add small bits of ribbons and add more beads until the necklace is done. Tie the ends and your necklace is ready.
Now for the hair clips. I used this wooden clips base, but you can make it from polymer clay, paper clay or use the old piece you already have. This time use stronger glue (kind of jewelry making one) and add 3 strips of your dotted ribbon over it. Now cover the big wooden spool with 3 different dotted ribbons (the size is just perfect for full 3 ribbons to cover it all) and glue the spool over the clips. Add the metal base with the same strong glue and your hair clip is done.

And as I still had a lot of ribbons and some small spools I decided to make this dash pin using the metal base (can be bought in every craft store).

I wrapped 2 small spools and glued them over the metal base (use strong glue) and then added a small bow over it for this fancy look.

So, as I said, even small kids can do it, but please be careful with glues (those are not kid safe glues after all) and with a pin (just cover it with a cover before they begin).
