Ribbon Ring

No one loves ribbon more than I do. I use it on all my homemade cards and scrapbook layouts. I make cupcakes and chocolates out of ribbon too! In fact, I have a book on ribbon crafts called “A Notion to Celebrate”. I was unsatisfied with the various spool storage systems, bag systems, and clip products designed to store and organize ribbon, so I developed the most efficient, practical system of all. Ribbon Ring.

Ribbon Ring is comprised of a metal book ring and durable plastic ribbon tags that replace traditional ribbon storage products. The design offers more storage in less space and lends itself to be displayed in a craft area. Our Ribbon Ring Starter Set tags can hold ribbon up to 1” wide. Multiple ribbons can be hung per tag, side-by-side, depending on ribbon width. Our Ribbon Ring JUMBO tags hold ribbon up to 2” wide.

Ribbon Rings look gorgeous hanging on a coat rack or other hook in a craft area. Use additional metal rings to organize ribbon by color.

Advantages of Ribbon Ring

• You can easily find the specific ribbon you are looking for.
• You can tell how much of a particular ribbon you have left without unwinding a spool or digging through a box.
• Ribbon does not wrinkle or get tangled.
• Ribbon Rings take up very little space and can be hung on the wall/door.
• Ribbon Ring tags are durable and can be used over and over.
• Ribbon Ring loves to travel. Simply roll your Ribbon Ring in a hand towel and put it in your scrapbook tote. Plastic sleeves from the newspaper also make great Ribbon Ring covers for travel or dust concerns.

The ribbon ring is giving away one starter set which consists of 30 standard ribbon tags, 1 metal ring and 15 inventory dots.  Ribbon is NOT included.

  4. My ribbon organization system is a giant mess right now. Most of my ribbon is either in an overflowing basket or a couple of overflowing old Stampin' Up holders. I've been trying to figure out how to better organize them but so far...it's scary. Looking forward to the organization posts here. Hopefully I'll find a good solution.

  6. I need some way to organize all my ribbons. Some are in a little cabinet that holds a few. Some are hanging from little cardboard tabs that I punched slots in. The rest are in a cardboard box rolled up and elastics around them. I think I need some help!

  10. I'm def. a follower, and one trick I've done with storing my ribbon is that I use "cardboard" 12 X 12 " that come with refill scrapbook page packages, cut it into strips and then cut a u shape in the middle up and down the strips on both sides and then I wrap my ribbon around it. I try to keep all of one color on each strip so it's easier to find all of my selections of one color! Thank you so much!

  29. I can't wait for this event to start. I am always looking for Tips and Techniques on Storage and Organisation. My poor Ribbons are all in a Tangled and Twisted Mess in one Drawer. So everytime I need a piece Not only does it take me ages to find, BUT when I do find it I have to IRON it. How sad is that. All these Systems you are showing look Awesome. In particular the Ribbon Ring as it looks like it needs very little space. Anyways, I am a follower and also receive Updates by E-Mail and whilst I don't have a Blog I do attend a Craft Club so will make sure all my Crafty friends know about this before it starts. (Very Exciting.)
    Kind Regards,

  31. WAUW this is awesome, and something I really NEED to win. I have all my ribbons in different boxes and bags, and I know, it just don´t work, but haven´t found a better way yet, but this really looks awesome. I have tons of ribbons, as I must admit, I´m truely addicted to gorgeous ribbon, and unfortunately there´s so much of it out there he he he. I think ribbonstorage has always been a problem for crafters, so it´s soooo cool, that you´re taking this up now and very welcome from all of us, I think.
I´ve been a follower for a while, but unfortunately don´t have a blog to share your blinkie, but I´m definately going to share these things in the 2 craftgroups, I´m in, as I´m very sure, they´ll all love this as much as I do.
Thanks soooo much for the chance to win, and I´ll cross my fingers, that I´ll be lucky for once.

  36. Ribbon and lace being favorite items of mine for embellishment use, I have way too much of it to store conveniently. Some is in pastic containers, some is on a dowel across my bookcase, lots of it is in the basket on the craft table where I can reach out and grab it. I really need a good way to store it that takes up less space. I am a follower and RRR is on the list I put on my blog of places I love. I will add the badge as soon as possible but had some problems trying to grab it this morning. Thanks for all the great storage ideas.

  40. I am a follower and am just about to add your fab badge to my blog. I just LOVE all those different ways of organising ribbons. Mine are wound into bunches and secured with elastic bands and all put in a net laundry bag hanging from the bottom of a shelf. I thought this was a better way of storing them than in a box, BUT now the tiny thin ribbons all collect at the bottom of the bag and i cant see them so have to go digging. Thankyou for a chance to win one of these fab ribbon storage solutions.

  45. I can't get enough ribbon, I just love it! I started out by sliding the ribbon reels on a 4 rod pants hanger (the one side lifts up). I've since gone to categorizing them by color and putting them in clear lidded plastic boxes. The reels stand up. I also put holiday ribbons in a separate box. I need to stop buying ribbon, but I can't!

  54. I have my scraps of ribbon in large jars displayed on a side table in my dining room as decoration with my buttons. I love how colorful they look. I have made cardboard cutouts to roll my ribbons around. I make a notch the size of the ribbon and roll it around. I usually can get 4-5 ribbons on one cutout and organize them by color or theme. Unfortunatley my son's punishment was to roll these ribbons and I think he never wants to see another roll but he took two huge 18 gallon tote boxes and rolled them into 3 large shoe boxes. Saved me alot of space.

  59. I just finished hosting my 3ed annual Scraproom Makeover challenge on my blog. You can see the things my scrapbook buddies and I have come up with to organize our ribbons and fibers here...

    http://gracesscrapattic.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-12-week-3-ribbons-and-fibers.html

In my personal stash I have my fibers wound up on clothes pins and in beautiful jars. The ribbons are cut to 3 years or more and then hung up on a slack hanger for your closet. They are all color coordinated of course in the colors of the rainbow, ROY G BIV and then neutrals. You can see some of my photos on my blog post... I go by the name Hanging by a Moment for the photos linked to it.

Hope everyone gets inspired to organize!!! It really makes scrapping more fun.

  100. I need a new way to organize all my ribbons. Some are on a handmade organiser, some are hanging from cardboard tabs and on a 2" ring, some wound round floss cards, some stuffed in jars, some suffed in boxes, some still on their reels. My aim is a whole new unit to store the whole ribbons on, I think I need a shed-load of ribon rings?

  107. :) wow what a great giveaway.
Will make photo of my ribbon-box in the evening today and link to this post.
But i don't have any special organizer. Just use boxes from shoes. In Russia it is very difficult to find scrap-tools, nothing are created here, only import things. So the only possibility to buy in Internet.

For my usage - i'd prefer K11 Best Craft Ribbon Organizer. I have more then 110 ribbon colors so it would be very useful :)

  114. Hi , first Im loving all of these ideas, second I'm already a follower & have your blinky on my site because I love your challenges.
Okay what I do is use wooden clothes hangers , drill about 8-10 holes and then I separate the ribbons by color or theme. This works really well for me because I then hang them over my desk

  119. Hi! I am very excited about the opportunity to win one of the ribbon organizer systems. I have tried multiple ways to store my ribbon and so far I am not happy with any of them. They just don't seem as great as I envisioned them to be. I have a soft sided lunch box that I punched holes and attached grommets. All of the ribbon is placed in te lunch box and one end is threaded through the grommet. Works fairly well, until you realize that you only have 3 inches of ribbon and you needed 12 inches. Next method is the premade shelves that the spools are threaded onto dowels. Looks pretty but I find that I am constantly having to take all of the spools off, to get to the spool that I need, what a mess! This also has ribbon dangling everywhere and gets tangled. I have tried taping the ends, pinning the end, but no a good outcome. If you just want your unopened ribbon to look pretty, this is fine. Anyway, thanks for the chance to win and I am looking forward to my subscription.

  122. I have only just begun to use ribbon in my card making. I love the look, and I love the ease with which ribbon blends with so many Rubber Stamp images.
I have a drawer that I keep all my ribbon in, in plastic bags. But, I don't like the way the ribbon gets crushed when I add more packages to the drawer.
I NEED an organizer. I NEED one of THESE three organizers.
    HELP!!!!!

  144. Hi there! I just found out about you and I love your blog! I am a follower now and will be back often to get inspired. I am absolutely obsessed with ribbons! I use them for everything.

I have 3 metal hangers (the ones you get from the dry cleaner) and all the ribbons are color coordinated. The white/yellow/cream/orange/red ones are on the first, the purple and pink ones on the second and the last one holds the green/blue/brown ones. It is simple and it works for me in my very limited space!

Thanks for the chance to win
