Slimline Birthday Card

Hello, Y'all! And Happy Friday!!  Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here with you today to share a super quick gift card that I created using RRR ribbons.  Now, let me just preface this with...I AM NOT a card maker!!  LOL  I am a scrap booker...I am a bow designer...I am a cake artist...I am not a card maker.  I do, however, know people.  And...as fate would have it, those people do have birthdays on occasion.  Therefore...I make a card...on occasion. This just happens to be one of those occasions.

Anyway, I used an svg file as the base of this card.  I cut it using my Cricut, then I did most of the backing of the elements with RRR ribbons.  I actually had never thought to do this before, and I am so glad that I did this time!

For the center ribbon and bow on top, I used one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES... the Zebra Print 3/8 inch grosgrain.  This fit perfectly with no trimming required! The center of the bow and the insides of the loops were backed with Black Grosgrain Ribbon. I used the 3/8 widh for the smaller areas and for the center I used a 5/8 inch piece for full coverage.
Once I had that all glued in place, I got brave and added Delicate Stitched Satin Red to the dots on the center gift box.   Now...this one was a bit more intricate.  I did have to trim these and I found that it wasn't as easy as I had hoped.  Well, let me clarify... it wasn't QUICK.  It wasn't difficult at all...just not a quick process to carefully trim all that ribbon.  I think that is what made me decide to forgo backing the stars and the stripes with ribbon!  LOL  Have I mentioned that I am a LAZY crafter to you all yet?
Well...here goes...Hello...My Name is Misty and I admit, I am a lazy Crafter!
After the red dots, I decided to mount the rest of the stack of gifts onto heavy weight vellum cardstock.  Before I glued it all down, however, I used a pencil and marked out where the stars and stripes were going to fall...and I PAINTED those spots with watercolors! Yes...WAY TOO EASY!  AND it looked great!

Once mounted and trimmed, I added a few embellishments. If you look closely at the photo above, you can see the spots where I painted in the gold stars and blue stripes.  I actually REALLY liked the effect that the watercolors had on the vellum!  I used a couple of the White Star Shaped pearl beads to fill in a couple of the stars.  I am absolutely ADDICTED to these stars!  I actually use them on almost everything I create...and I used my very last two right on this card!  Otherwise I would have used more on this! The last thing I added was Black Licorice Baker's Twine around all the edges.  This is another RRR item that I am addicted to and need to restock!  **Side note...This twine is not thin and flimsy. It is thick and wont pull apart or break easily.  It is most definitely of higher quality than some of the  baker's twines out there.**  You should give it a try if you have not!

Finally, It was time to assemble the card.  I simply used my Scor-Pal to help me create a gatefold card using a heavy weight cardstock, added in an insert inside the card, and then mounted the decorated gift box on the front opening.  Overall, this took just over an hour for me to create.  I can't complain!!!  Not bad for a cute little card created during the hustle and bustle of the holidays!

Thank you all for stopping by today! This is New Year's Weekend...what are your plans?  I have heard that what you do on New Year's Day sets the "theme" for your year. WHY NOT decide to make it a crafty one!!??  Head on over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store and fill up your cart!  Make a resolution to set aside some personal crafting time this year!  Have a SAFE AND HAPPY Holiday...Cheers to 2023!  We will see you all Next Year in 2024!

Wishing You Wonder, Joy & Love

Hey there, everyone, and welcome by today.  It's your crafty friend Karen Letchworth here with a FUN card that features just a few of my favorite products from Really Reasonable Ribbon,  I just love the way ribbons, twines and flowers make cards POP with texture, excitement and beauty.  Making CAS flat cards is also very pretty, and you can actually add ribbon to a card and still keep it perfectly flat for mailing without making it bulky.  There's a perfect trim for everything and every project at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
For this card, I used black cardstock layered with a Crate Paper patterned paper.  The next layer was cut from white cardstock with a cute new frame die I bought.  I just love the detail on the edges of the frame.  Anyway, I rubbed the white paper with Spun Sugar and Fresh Raspberry Oxide Inks to create that base.
I cut the skating rink from silver glitter paper and added the darling little girl skater (also from Crate Paper).  At the bottom of my card, I added a piece of Bold Black & White Gingham Ribbon and tied a bow with it.  I also added a bow tied with Solid Black Baker's Twine.  I tucked in some pink, white and black Double Head Stamens and I topped it all with a Black Open Rose.  I also attached a 12mm Silver Stardust Rhinestone Embellishment at the bottom right.
There's lots of great inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog and lots of great bargains and fabulous products waiting for you at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your visit today (and every visit).  I appreciate it so much and I wish you all happy crafting and happy days.

Blessings,
Karen

Ladybug, Ladybug Fly Away Home

Really reasonable Ribbon-Echo Park-Little Ladybug-Kathy Clement-Kathy by Design

Hello, Friends!  If you're feeling the winter blues, I hope this little shaker card will elevate your mood.  Red, black and white is such a cheery color combo, and ladybugs always make me happy!  Throw in a shaker element, a pop of aqua gingham check, polka dot ribbons and a perky houndstooth bow, and I'm on the verge of giddy!

Really Reasonable Ribbon-Kathy Clement-Echo Park-Little Ladybug-Shaker Card

Polka dots and ladybugs are made for one another, so it was an easy choice to add 3/8" Black Swiss Satin Dots Ribbon to the top and bottom of this 5" x 7" shaker card.  Use 1/4" Scor-Tape to secure the ribbon to your card for a quick and easy design solution.  To keep things neat and tidy, let the ends of the Scor-Tape and ribbon extend beyond the sides, then wrap them around the back of the card front panel before you adhere it to the card base.

Black Houndstooth Ribbon ties such beautiful bows.  It's soft and supple, so it's easy to work with, and the loops drape in such a pretty way.  It's one of my favorite ribbons, and I wish it came in every color of the rainbow!

Peppermint Baker's Twine helps hold the flap page inside the card in place.  Simply wrap the twine around the flap page liner before you adhere it to the card base.  Then tie a bow and you're all set!

Here's a peek behind the flap page.

And here's a peek at the goodies inside the pocket.  I've added a little Baker's Twine hanger to the cute magnet so that it can either hang on the fridge or on a doorknob.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Sleigh

Hello crafty friends and Happy Thursday to you all! Today I have a fun project I designed not only for Really Reasonable Ribbon , but also for my hutch in my kitchen. I love the way it turned out using lots of Really Reasonable Ribbon, some Hot Cocoa, a Gingerbread Spoon, and some of the chocolate marshmallow spoons, and peppermint chocolates.

I used the gorgeous ribbons that are Xmas Traditions

Really Reasonable Ribbon -
all items like sleigh, and chocolate spoons, and gingerbread spoons were bought at Hobby Lobby, the hot cocoa I bought at tjmaxx, and the tags are from AC. I added some holly to my sleigh, and then the little white dew drops are from The Robins Nest Creative.

I do hope you enjoyed my post for today, and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Christmas Cookies

It's your friend, Karen, posting today.  What makes a card interesting in your opinion?  For me, it needs some depth, some texture, something that makes it stand out and take notice.  Well, when I use ribbons and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon on my cards, I know I'll always have the perfect accents to add those touches of texture, depth and personality.  That's what I did for this SWEET Christmas card.
I used basic black cardstock that I layered with a deep green patterned paper.  I machine stitched the papers together and then added a darling sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs.  I cut the "cookies" using some old dies and I topped one with Cherry Baker's Twine and some rusty jingle bells.  On the lefthand side of my card, I added a beautiful ribbon treatment.
This sweet ribbon topping started with a length of Emerald Green Gingham Ribbon that I ran down the left side of the card.  Next, I tied a big pretty bow using Red Gingham Ribbon.  I also tucked in some Green Bundled StringMulberry Leaves, wool felt leaves, and a sweet topping of various Open Roses.  The cookies, sentiment and ribbons were attached using lots of fabulous Scor-Tape.
We all hope that you'll visit the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog often for lots of great inspiration and up-to-date information about special sales and promotions.  You won't want to miss any of what's happening at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Have a blessed and creative week, everyone.

Hugs,
Karen

Sweet Gingerbread

Hello crafty friends and Happy Wednesday to you all! Cheryl here today with a short post to share as I decorated this darling gingerbread for Really Reasonable Ribbon and the Robins Nest Creative.

So I bought these gingerbreads at Micheals craft store and thought they would be darling done up as a banner or tags for treat tins or boxes to gift. You could also add some paper to the back with journaling or whatever.

Anyways on this one here I created some snowflakes and holly berry using dew drops, super fun! Also used the Gorgeous Gingham Red 3/8" Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and it can be found here , and I used some bakers twine for the hanger and that can be found here

I want to thank you for stopping by and hope you have a lovely day!

hugs to all, Cheryl

A Cozy Christmas Greeting Card

Hey there friends and crafty peeps!  I hope you're enjoying your holiday season. I'm just dropping in to share a greeting card I created with gorgeous ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I'm utilizing the ribbon to help me fill in the arrangement of flowers in this little plaid picnic basket.  The pop of lighter green really helps to brighten up this card and give it a nice depth.

Baby, It's Cold Outside Mixed Media Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I love to create Christmas cards that can cross over into winter.  It's nice to have cards made that you can send out for Christmas, New Year's and winter birthdays, isn't it?  I created this mixed media 5x7 card with that goal in mind.  Christmas Red, Green and Gold Plaid ribbon adds a pop of color to all the blue and silver hues.  This ribbon is soft and supple so it ties gorgeous, poufy bows!

Wishing You Joy at Christmas

Some things just go together perfectly, you know?  Like peanut butter and jelly, coffee and cream, corn-on-the-cob and butter, AND......cute cards and ribbons.  Another great pairing is using digital stamps from Bonnie Garby Designs and goodies from Really Reasonable Ribbon on your cards.  These are just things that go together perfectly, and I love to combine them in creating something fun.
This simple monochromatic card starts with basic black and then basic cream cardstocks along with a piece of Carta Bella patterned paper that I machine stitched together to create my fun and simple base.  Next, I added that DARLING retro sentiment and image which are found in the Vintage Christmas Digital Stamp Bundle from Bonnie Garby Designs.  How cute is that?
I ran a length of Cream Seam Binding across the card and tied a pretty bow with it. I tucked in several Double Head Stamens, some bundled Ivory Burlap String, a piece of Solid Black Baker's Twine, and I topped it all with a beautiful Black Open Rose.  I just LOVE all the texture and beauty it adds to my simple cards.  Really Reasonable Ribbon truly has OODLES of gorgeous ribbons, trims, adhesives, flowers and SO much more.
Be sure to catch all the fabulous inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog and all the amazing products available at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  We love and appreciate your visits, and we hope to be your number one "go-to" for all things spindled and spooled....and then some.  We appreciate your business and look forward to having you stop by to visit.  Have a blessed and creative week, everyone.

RRR Boutique Christmas Bows

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you all!  Misty (@Mommyofkidz) Here with you today for the first time in a very long time!  I was so excited when Bonnie invited me to join the Team again...and I couldn't wait to get started!  I was on the team when my baby was 4 and I left around the time that she was 8...when life got too overwhelming. My love for ribbon NEVER diminished, though!!  Life has calmed down a bit, and my baby is now EIGHTEEN and a freshman in college!!!  Once upon a time, I used to make super fancy hair bows for her... but I kinda don't think she will wear them anymore.  Now, I get to make them for my niece's baby girl.  I will even try to get photos every now and then of Missy Prissy wearing one...but not this time around...so sorry! She has been sick and cranky, so I opted to just take photos minus the adorable model.

Today, I want to share  a couple of bows that I made using the GORGEOUS Christmas Assortment along with a few other ribbons tossed in for good measure.  Y'all...isn't this the most amazing assortment!?  It is perfect for every Holiday craft you can think of!

This assortment is spectacular, as are ALL of the assortments that Bonnie creates!  When it arrived, I immediately had visions of sugarplums dancing in my head!  This was going to make a PERFECT bow! I started with the red and green plaids and solids from the assortment, and added in a black grosgrain 1 1/2 inch for the base, and a 7/8 red grosgrain with black swiss dots. I used a few of the white star pearl embellishments on this one for a bit of "Extra" beauty.

I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with the stars...I put them on Everything! Bows, cards, tags, scrapbook pages, you name it!  They are gorgeous!! YES...I am addicted to these things, too.

For the second bow...I decided to make it a cute little Korker.  For the Korker ribbons, I just wrap my ribbon around a dowel rod and bake them in the oven on 275 for half an hour. YES...I bake my ribbon!
For this one, I used all of the 3/8 inch ribbons from the Christmas Assortment and added in a few more as well.  More swiss dots...because I am addicted to the Dots...in ALL the colors! I also tossed in a 3/8 inch zebra print to add a bit of funky flair to this bow...I mean...Every little girl has a wild side, right?

Hopefully theses bows will make Miss Everleigh smile when I give them to her.  I know they male me smile! I haven't made a bow in ages...and it sure did feel good to do these! I even have a bit more ribbon leftover...I just may get creative and crank out one more before I deliver them. With Christmas time upon us, I know these will get plenty of use!

Thank you for stopping by today and indulging my ramblings about my love for ribbon.
Bonnie truly does have the best...and she creates the most gorgeous Assortments! I am truly honored to be back with this amazing team, and so very excited to be creating with Bonnie's ribbons again!
Go take a look for yourself...I promise you will find the perfect ribbons for ALL of your holiday projects! I hope you all have a wonderful week...and Stay Crafty My Friends!
