Our question of the month is:
Do you hand make your Christmas or Hanukkah cards? If so, how many do you make and when do you start?
I make mine and I used to make around 50 insanely intricate hand-cut (this was before die cutting and the silhouette was widely used) pop-up cards. I'm now old, and lacking in energy and enthusiasm, so my list is down to about 20-25 and I no longer hand cut anything. I like the idea of starting in early October which would work out fabulously, but in reality I usually start in mid December and then it isn't any fun at all!

wow! every project on the hop today was fabulous and full of inspiration! of course that ribbon kit is GORGEOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI usually begin making my Christmas cards in January and try to make a few each month so I'm not overwhelmed when December rolls around. I'm not allowed to give a store bought card to anyone. ;) they all demand hand made from me, so that is a LOT of cards to make, but I don't mind as it's peaceful to sit and create.
thanks to everyone for the hard work and wonderful projects!
Wow...beautiful projects on this hop!!! All of my 120 Christmas cards are handmade by me and I just started yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI do around 60 Christmas cards -- I usually start in July - why stress. :)
ReplyDeleteI make around 20 christmas cards. I usually starting making them in November
ReplyDeleteWonderful hop, again! Thanks for having me as a guest this month. It is always a pleasure! I do make Christmas cards, and usually start....well, let's not talk about that! ;)
ReplyDeleteI hand make all my Christmas cards. I think my friends and family pretty well expect that. I usually start some time in September, but I'm off to a late start this year. I haven't gotten a single one done. At this rate, I'll be finishing up about the time we put up the tree! I usually do between 30 to 40. Some times more.
ReplyDeleteI make all of my Christmas cards, last year making 180+ for friends, family and my church!
ReplyDeleteI make a lot of Christmas cards...but...I'm super bad about getting them into the mail. I hand some of them out to my immediate co-workers who work here in this building with me (12 cards) and closer friends (varies from year to year), but...no one else seems to get one. Also, I never make two alike. All of my cards are one of a kinds. I also have co-workers who buy some from me...
ReplyDeleteYes, I make my own Christmas cards for about 30 friends and family. I don't feel pushed to get them mailed before the 25th. If the 3 wise men could wait until January 6th to deliver their gifts and good wishes, then so can I. Many have shown me special boxes where they have kept them...warms my heart! On the other hand, this is how I learned about sticky dot tape that dries out and releases...live and learn. I also enjoy making cards for a holiday or special day of my choice...a favorite has been to celebrate the start of fresh blueberry season (July). Paper crafting fun! Loved following this blog hop...every site so festive with holiday inspiration! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI start in October and usually make about 20. Great blog hop.
ReplyDeleteyes, I make my own cards. I start at the beginning of each year. I try to do 2-4 each month. I need anywhere from 50-60 cards. Edwina Brown
ReplyDeleteI have really dropped the ball for the last few years BUT this year I am determined to hand/mail some out! I started making cards in September and I have no idea how many I make buy anything is better than giving out ZERO!!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI create Christmas cards and will be starting in the next couple weeks!! I love your ribbon!
ReplyDeleteI make about 20 cards. I have already started so hopefully I get them all done.

ReplyDeleteGreat blog hop. I do make my Christmas cards most years--usually around 50.
GORGEOUS projects in the hop! I always hand make my Christmas cards, and I usually send out between forty and fifty every year. I almost always participate in a Christmas in July challenge, so I get most of my cards made then. After that, I try to get a few done each month until I need to mail them out.
ReplyDeleteI do hand made Hoiday cads but my list is getting smaller each year partly because of losing people and partly becausemy health has declined. I like you think October would be the peerfect time to start but it never quite works out that way. Oh well that's life lol.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do make my own holiday cards. usually I design 3 different cards and make about 50 in total which is a lot less than I use to do in years past but I still like making my own.

Thank you for the fun and beautiful blog hop. I like getting started early on Christmas cards. Mailing them early and knowing they are done is a great feeling. I saw lots of pretty ribbon and bows and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove this months ribbon collection, and the projects that the designers made with them are truly awesome. I started making Christmas cards a couple of months ago. I used to make cards for OWH, so I used to start in the spring, but now that they have closed down, I don't know how many I'll make now. I do plan to send some to another organization, so I'm sure it will be close to 100, including my own person use cards.
