Go On and Celebrate!

Hello, everyone! It is Gloria with you again! Well, it is almost a new year! Time to say good-bye to the old year and celebrate the new!

To celebrate, I decided to make a birthday card, which I will send to someone in 2023!

I made a slimline card that measures 4" x 9", which should just fit into a #10 (business-sized) envelope. I think next time I will make my slimline just a tiny bit...slimmer!

I once again pulled some paper out of my stash which was still sealed up in plastic...a collection from Echo Park circa 2016! I mean...really, who does this?! Me apparently!

I used more ribbon from the December Ribbon Club. I used some 5/8" Mineral Ice Taffeta (of which I need more!), and 3/8" Turquoise Satin Swiss Dots

I created the sentiment circle by embossing the sentiments with some gold toned embossing powder. I added some enamel dots and a button to look like...cupcake sprinkles.

I also decorated the inside of the card. There is still room to write a message and to add a gift card!

My oldest brother has a birthday on January 1st, but I am not going to send this card to him...maybe I wills send him something a little more for an avid outdoorsman! {smile}

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Skating Party!

Stamperia-Sweet Winter-RRR-December Ribbon Club-Winter Carnival-Wall Hanging-Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Today I have a sweet little winter wall hanging to share with you.  I've dressed it all up with satin ribbons from the Winter Carnival Ribbon Club Assortment.  I hope you'll enjoy this little Skating Party project!

Stamperia-Sweet Winter-Home Decor-Wall Hanging-Really Reasonable Ribbon- Kathy Clement

First I framed my 5x7 mixed media background with the Aqua Sprinkles Satin Ribbon in this month's Ribbon Club Assortment.  You can use Scor-Tape for this, or you can machine stitch as I did here.  Then I layered in some chipboard elements and die cut foliage.  Next I attached it to a little metal hanger and topped it with some Pink Tulips Satin Ribbon, also from the club assortment.

Add a pop of color with a double loop Tropic Delicate Stitched Satin bow.  Delicate Stitched Satin ribbon is one of my "go to" ribbon choices.  It is soft and easy to work with and always ties a beautiful bow.

Winter is a great time to hang out in your crafty space. I hope you're keeping warm and cozy and creative!

Cheerio,

kathy

Merry Christmas tag with RRR

Hello crafty friends and Happy Friday to you all! Today's Christmas Candy tag was designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon and also for my grandson. I will be adding this tag to one of his presents for Christmas. This is my last Christmas tag for the year. Hope you enjoy!

So for my tag base I just chose a spellbinders die shape that I like best for this darling dragon. I cut out one in red and one in white, and then stamped my sentiment in red ink on the white card stock. Super easy right?! Next I used the RRR Foam tabs to pop the white frame and then added my white paint dots. for the dragon I used an SVG cutting file, and had these put together from last year, so it was easy to just grab one and use. I did use several foam tabs layered on top of each other to pop him higher up so the sucker could slide in behind him. The suckers came from Walmart. Next I picked out 2 ribbons, and used the plaid christmas ribbon red and green in 5/8" and then the Checkerboard Satin in forest green 3/8", I just looped them both and hot glued to the back. I did staple them together first. Lastly I slide the sucker in and then used a foam tab to hold it in place. Love making these fun little tags for Christmas.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my tag for today! May you all have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New year!

Hugs to all, Cheryl

Jingle All the Way

Jingle all the way to Christmas with Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Christmas is almost here; and if you haven't yet told your hubby, family and friends what YOU want for Christmas, let me suggest some goodies from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  They are the best.  This sweet little quick and easy card was created using a few of my all-time favorite RRR products; which are Baker's TwineBurlap String and Scor-Tape.
I used some Cream Baker's Twine to wrap the black die-cut frame and added another length of the Cream Baker's Twine around my card.  Next, I used a length of Natural Burlap String to tie some rusty jingle bells together.  Burlap String comes in so many fabulous colors and can be used in so many different ways.  It's a crafting essential and costs only ten cents ($0.10) per yard.  The same is true of Baker's Twine.  It's my all-time favorite trim that also costs just ten cents ($0.10) per yard and comes in SO many beautiful colors.  Those of you who know me well are aware that I used these two trims A LOT.
I used Scor-Tape to attach pretty much everything on my card.  One thing I especially LOVE about Scor-Tape is that it comes in a variety of widths so that you can always get the perfect size for each task.  As you'll see in this photo (below), I used the narrower Scor-Tape on the frame and the wider Scor-Tape on the other pieces.  There's always a perfect size for every project.  It's a fantastic Adhesive that holds things securely in place over time.
Another great thing about all the fantastic trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon is that you can always find the PERFECT color for any project.  For instance, when I made this card, I decided to use this random piece of left-over patterned paper.  No matter what paper scrap you're wanting to use, RRR will always have the perfect trim in the perfect width, color, and texture to match anything you've got.
I used an embossing folder to add some texture to the inside of the die-cut frame.  The sled and sentiment are stickers from Echo Park.  If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to answer them.  All of us at Really Reasonable Ribbon wish you a blessed Christmas and happy crafting all year long.  We're here to help and encourage you.  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit today.

Blessings,
Karen

Christmas Time

Hello, everyone! It is Gloria with you again! I am back with one last Christmas card. It is time to get those cards in the mail!

I am in love with this Heartfelt Creations paper pad, Holiday Star. It has beautiful blues and purples! I decided to combine them in this quick and easy card. The card is a standard A2 size ( 4.25" x 5.5") but it may need a bigger envelope to accommodate that fluffy bow!
I tied two bows, one from 5/8" White Double-faced Satin and one from 5/8" Hyacinth Diamond Satin. Both ribbons are part of the December Ribbon Club Assortment, Winter Carnaval

I used a large snowflake button to top the bows. A sparkly gem finishes it all off.
I added a few sequins and gems to the snowflake designs on the paper, just for some added bling! I also trimmed a sentiment from the paper, making this a very simple card to put together.

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Christmas Candy Cane Tags

Hello Crafty friends and Happy Thursday to you all! Cheryl here today with some fun Candy Cane Tags that I made for Christmas. I've been having so much fun creating different types of tags and treat holders for the holidays, love making these! Need a quick gift for a neighbor or co-worker, these would be perfect! Also would be fun for the table setting as well.

So to start with I grabbed a few tags from my stash that I had gotten from somewhere and covered them with Christmas design papers. Next I added my Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to create a bow and tie. I ended up using the Plaid Ribbon Christmas Red and Green in 5/8". Love this beautiful ribbon and makes gorgeous bows. Now I used my craft knife to make some cuts in the tag to hold the candy cane in place.
SNOWMAN-
Now for the snowman I used punches to create him, and I did cut his hat by hand. I also added some of the same ribbon to create his scarf, and then used the 3/8" Poppy red checkerboard Satin ribbon for his hat. Next I added a snowflake to his hat, as I thought it would be so darling. for his face I used some dew drops, and also for his buttons. The nose was cut by hand and then I added his mouth. Lastly I added some white paint pen marks around the black scallops.  I did add a poinsettia embellishment and a Merry Christmas tag.
Monkey tag-
I did the same with the tag for this one, and then added my Santa Monkey that I had cut on my cricut and then distressed and put together. Lastly on both tags I added the Merry Christmas sticker that I placed on the red scallop circle using foam tabs.

Wintry Blues

Really Reasonable Ribbon-French Blue Delicate Stitched Satin-Ciao Bella-Time for Home-Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Are you a fan of winter blues?  I have a soft spot for them because they remind me of my Vermont childhood.  There is a particular shade of blue that falls in the evening during the winter months, and I tried to capture it with this Wintry Feathered Friends Tea Party in a Box card.  RRR French Blue Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon is such a good match for this icy blue card.

Ciao Bella Time for Home Tea Party in a Box by Kathy Clement Kathy by Design

We get lots of beautiful blue jays at our back yard feeder this time of year.  It's always a treat to see that flash of blue wings against the grey days of winter.

TIP: Metallic Silver String is a great way to add a little extra sparkle to your bow cluster.  I tied a triple loop bow with my Bow it All Tool, then I topped it with a loopy metallic string bow .  This combination really says "winter" to me.

Here's a peek at the inside of this Tea Party in a Box Card.

I created a little waterfall folio on the top half of the card.  This is a great place to preserve those great winter photos.

It's so much fun to open up the card and find this Tea Party in a Box inside the card.  What a great way to brighten up a dark wintry day!

Hope you are staying warm and cozy!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Hello, friends.  It's Karen posting today.  All of us Really Reasonable Ribbon are hoping that you'll "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", and we know that if you treat yourself to some new ribbons, twines, strings, lacesSeam Binding or ANY of the fabulous products they carry; it's SURE to be merry.  I always have SO much fun when I create a card adorned with some of their GORGEOUS trims.
I used some basic red cardstock and then a piece of corrugated cardboard to create the base.  I cut the frame using a Scalloped Frame Die-Cut from Taylored Expressions.  In the center of the frame, I used a piece of white watercolor paper that I rubbed with Vintage Photo Oxide Ink to distress.  I used a sentiment stamp from Paper Sweeties.  I used lots of Scor-Tape to secure everything in place securely.  It's a FABULOUS Adhesive.
I added a few die-cut snowflakes and I placed a White Flatback Pearl Accent in the center of each one.   There are so many great Embellishments in the RRR Store.  The gorgeous ribbon I used on this card is a May Arts canvas trim.  I used more of the wonderful Scor-Tape to securely attach the trim to my card.  I also tied some Red & White Plaid Houndstooth Ribbon into the pretty bow.
No matter what kind of card or project you're making, Really Reasonable Ribbon is sure to have the perfect trimsAdhesivesHeadband/Hair AccessoriesEmbellishmentsFlowers and more to help you.  There's also lots of great inspiration on the RRR Blogspecial information about sales and promotions, and our FUN Blog Hop on the 13th of every month.  We hope that you'll stop by often.  Have a merry and creative week.

Blessings,

Older and Wiser

Hello, everyone! It is Gloria with you again! I am taking a break from Christmas projects to share a masculine birthday card! My oldest son turns (GULP) 31 on December 12th and I need a card. Two birds...one stone!

Despite having a husband, two sons, three brothers, many nephews, and one awesome great-nephew, I never seem to make enough masculine cards! I am always scrambling at the last minute to make one! And it's not as if I don't have masculine papers or other embellishments, because believe me, I do! I just love to do flowers and ribbons and sparkle more!
I pulled out this beautiful paper from Authentique (Mister Collection) for my card. I love the colors of this collection - brown, rust, charcoal, gray, navy. So masculine and so vintage!

I chose one of the ephemera cards for my focal point...but gave it a bit of a make-over to change the date to my son's birth year, 1991. I love the "older and wiser" sentiment, too.

For the trim I used the stunning 3/8" Charcoal Satin with Grosgrain Edge ribbon. I love this ribbon color and think I need to get it in all the sizes...maybe in a spool....  The color is not black nor gray nor navy, but just a bit of all of those colors!

I wrapped some Navy Burlap String around the center of the ribbon and attached it all to the back of the panel. I then tied a knot with a short bit of the 3/8" Charcoal Satin with Grosgrain Edge ribbon. This is a simple, yet masculine way to add ribbon and trim to a card without using any big loopy bows. (The men in my life are not that into loopy bows!)

I added a lining to the inside of the card and stamped a birthday sentiment, plus added some bits of paper to trim out the inside of the card. There is still plenty of space to write a message.
I glued three metal studs to the lower right corner of the card to finish it off.

Thank you so much for joining me today!
