Christmas Recipe Card Folio and Tutorial

Christmas Recipe Card Folio by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon Photo 01

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  If you're like me, about 70% of my baking takes place during the Christmas holiday season.  I like to bake for my family, of course.  But I also like to bake for friends, family and business associates.  Keeping all my Christmas recipes together in one spot makes the job easier.  So I used the October Ribbon Club Assortment to deck out a super cute little Recipe Card Folio.

The cover of this "from scratch" folio measures 6 1/2" x 4 1/2".  Bold Check Christmas Ribbon from the Club Assortment serves as the folio closure.  I decorated the focal image with layered Forest Green Satin with a Grosgrain Edge and Pinecones and Branches Satin.  Tie on some itty bitty jingle bells with a bit of Gold Metallic String to add an extra dash of holiday flavor.

I used another bit of this ribbon on the spine of the album to dress up my charm dangle.

The interior of the folio has lots of fun interactive elements, like this double waterfall feature.  Each side has 3 double sided pages and one single page.

The inside pages have pockets to house 6" x 4" recipe cards.  You can pull the cards out when you want to use them, and put them back in for safe keeping when you are done.

Use Forest Green Satin ribbon from the Club to create a pretty closure for this gatefold page.

Slip a photo or recipe card behind the belly band that's inside the gatefold page.  A small envelope is a great place to stash a little gift card or special note.

I put together a flip through video along with a basic tutorial for the folio base, just in case you want to try to make one.  This is not a complete tutorial, but it is enough to get you started!

Have you started making your Christmas gifts yet?  I'm trying to get a head start this year.  I'll let you know how that goes!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Tea with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you all! Today's Tea cup was designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon and for a class I'm doing for my doll club meeting in November, that I'm hosting. I thought this would be a fun project for the ladies to all do.

My tea cup was cut using a die and matt board to give it some strength.  I used Scor-tape to hold it together. I then glued all the design papers to each matt board using Scor-tape and a little liquid glue. I had bought a huge pack of this design paper at our local warehouse sale.  It cost me 1.00 for like 25 sheets - super awesome deal. The die I used is an Old Sizzix die. I added Really Reasonable Ribbon's Gabrielle Lace.  My flowers were done using my Glass Flower techniques found HERE on my blog. I have a few different ones, hope you enjoy! I then hot glued the pearls to the centers of all my flowers. I added some feathers and some branches for some embellishing on my cup. The ribbon bow was added on to hang the tag. I forgot to stamp a sentiment on my tag, oops!

Really Reasonable ribbon Supplies:
other supplies , liquid glue, hot glue, pearls, distress ink, feathers, punches, and dies.

Thank you so much for looking and hope you love my post for today!

Christmas Treats Mean LOVE

Welcome by, everyone.  It's your friend, Karen, posting today for Really Reasonable Ribbon which is always a FUN post for me.  It means I get to make whatever I want with any products I want, and I get to "frost" it all with lovely touches from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  That's easy and fun because Really Reasonable Ribbon carries a bit of everything; and I always have plenty of inspiration when I look to them for ideas and "frosting" (everything pretty that goes on a card).
I made this FUN card using some really sweet die-cuts from The Greetery.  I die-cut all my paper layers, and used pieces of Scor-Tape to attach those papers, the stickers and borders.  Yes, lots of layers happening here, I know.  Scor-Tape will hold everything securely in place - I can always count on that.  I ran a piece of Red & White Gingham Ribbon across my card, and I also added in some Bay Leaf Seam Binding and Cherry Baker's Twine to attach my rusty jingle bells.
There's an extra piece of the Red & White Gingham Ribbon tucked in on the left and secured with a mini staple.  I love how the ribbons give my cards so much rich texture.  I also stamped some small (retired) images from Paper Sweeties (postal cancel waves, Christmas circle).  The LOVE sentiment is from the Merry Stamp Set.  In the center of  my little snowflakes, I added a Red Plaid Fabric Covered Button.
As always, I tend to layer a lot onto my cards.  There's just something about all those wonderful bits and bobbits, layers and laces and all things spooled that call my name.  If you have any questions about something I used on this card, please let me know and I will get you the answer you need.  Most of the goodies I added are from Really Reasonable Ribbon. They carry so many great products.  Be sure to visit often, and to treat yourself to some special.

Blessings,
Karen

Copper and Cream Autumn Pumpkin

Kathy Clement Copper and Cream Pumpkin Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  It's the most wonderful time of the year!  I'm talking pumpkin season, my friends!  Nothing makes me happier than a field of plump orange pumpkins!  Unless it's a slice of freshly baked pumpkin bread!  Yum! I've found that the Copper and Cream Plaid ribbon from RRR looks fabulous with any pumpkin themed project.  Pair it up with a little Natural Burlap String to amp up the rustic autumn vibe.

Blue Fern Bird Waltz Pumpkin Season Card by Kathy Clement

The ribbon looks great inside a card, too.  Use it as a border on top of a pocket.  It makes a handy closure for a little secret recipe card pocket on the top of the card.

Pumpkin Recipe Card Folio by Kathy Clement

This is a fun way to present a few of your favorite "pumpkin everything" recipes, isn't it?  And if you're going to bake pumpkin bread, you really need to have a little tea to go with it.  So I created a cute tea and chocolate wallet then dressed it up with more ribbon.  Cute, right?  A packet of honey and a demitasse spoon complete the service.

Suddenly I find myself craving a little pumpkin snack! What's your favorite pumpkin baked good?  I'd love to hear about it in the comments below.

Thanks for stopping by!

Beary Sweet Halloween Treat Bags

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you all! Today's  Halloween Treat Bags were designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the beautiful Shimmer Satin Ribbon they carry, and then a Cuddly Cute SVG Bear dressed as a spider. Love how these turned out, and Hope you do too!
The bags were purchased at one of the warehouse sales here in Utah. I bought a ton of these bags so I could decorate them up to give. I started on this bag by using the spider ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and glued it to the bottom of each bag. Next I punched out the scalloped circles using a spider design paper ,and distressed it with orange, and then added black dots. The larger one was cut using black card stock and I added white dots. I used my New Cricut air machine to cut out 9 bears dressed like spiders, so cute! I airbrushed them and added eyelashes, and shadowing. They all have a little white flower on their heads. The Happy Halloween was cut using a die, and same with the bat. Next I chose to use the beautiful Orange Shimmer Satin ribbon. Love how these all turned out. I may have to make some others using different designs, and ribbons.
Supplies Used:
Hot glue
SVG Bear
Punches
Dies , white gel pen, black pen, chalks, copics, air compressor ,

Thank you so very much for stopping by! Hope you have a lovely day!

Using Patterned Paper Scraps

Hello, friends.  It's your friend, Karen here.  I don't know if all you ADORE ribbons and trims the way I do, but for me...they're a crafting MUST, and something I adore.  The trends right now are lovely, but they tend to be quite flat and lacking texture (in my humble opinion).  You see...for me, there's just something special about all those yummy layers and textures that I simply can't resist.  This card was created using some super old patterned papers and paper scraps from an old 6x6 paper pad.  But....all the LOVELY accents you'll see are from Really Reasonable Ribbon
I used small cut strips of Scor-Tape to attach all those little scraps of patterned paper to my cardstock base.  I didn't want all those little paper scraps to start lifting at some point, and that's why I used the Scor-Tape to keep everything securely in place.  I added half of a coffee-stained doily, and I used an old PTI stamp set to stamp the sentiment (Warm Autumn Wishes) onto yet another scrap of patterned paper.  I ran a piece of Bay Leaf Seam Binding up the left of my card.  I used a smaller piece of the Bay Leaf Seam Binding to tie a bow, and incorporated a length of Solid Yellow Baker's TwineSolid Gray Baker's Twine, some bundled Pink Burlap String, several Double Head Stamens
The next time you have a pile of patterned paper scraps sitting around, find a way to piece them together (SAVE them!) and create something fun like this.  The Scor-Tape works great at holding down all those little pieces securely.  You'll also see that I placed a pretty Pink Magnolia Flower in the center of my bow, and I tucked in two stick pins.  Really Reasonable Ribbon will always have the perfect accents for ALL your crafting projects.
No matter what sort of card, craft, or art project you're working on; there's always going to be a perfect trim, accent, or adhesive waiting for you at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  We hope you'll stop by and do some looking around in all the different categories.  You're sure to find a few things you'll absolutely LOVE.  Don't forget to join us on the 13th for the RRR Blog Hop.  Thanks again for stopping by today. Happy crafting, everyone!

Blessings,
Karen

Goth Inspired Envelope Flipbook

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! We're celebrating our 13 Days of Halloween Tutorial Series on our YouTube channel over at Polly's Paper Studio and I 'm excited to share with you the project I created for day 11!

I'm really loving this dark and moody goth inspired Halloween project.  That Bold Check Ribbon in Black coordinates so perfectly.

This album base is created with envelopes and has A2 sized folded inserts.

Although this is not traditional holiday paper it's still pretty spooky. Perfect for Halloween.

I'm paring the patterned papers with some fun stickers found at the Dollar Tree. The match so well!

This book has 4 inserts so there's plenty of room for all your pictures and memories of the festive holiday.

Please join me for a tutorial.....
