Wintry Blues

 Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Are you a fan of winter blues?  I have a soft spot for them because they remind me of my Vermont childhood.  There is a particular shade of blue that falls in the evening during the winter months, and I tried to capture it with this Wintry Feathered Friends Tea Party in a Box card.  RRR French Blue Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon is such a good match for this icy blue card.

We get lots of beautiful blue jays at our back yard feeder this time of year.  It's always a treat to see that flash of blue wings against the grey days of winter.  

TIP: Metallic Silver String is a great way to add a little extra sparkle to your bow cluster.  I tied a triple loop bow with my Bow it All Tool, then I topped it with a loopy metallic string bow .  This combination really says "winter" to me.

Here's a peek at the inside of this Tea Party in a Box Card.  

I created a little waterfall folio on the top half of the card.  This is a great place to preserve those great winter photos.

It's so much fun to open up the card and find this Tea Party in a Box inside the card.  What a great way to brighten up a dark wintry day!

Winter Blues Shaker Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Winter days can be long and dark and cold.  So here's a lovely little Winter Blues Shaker Card to brighten your day.

 I've adorned it with a country fresh Gray Plaid Bow and sparkling White Iridescent Metallic String.  They look wonderful with all the lovely shades of blue in this Ciao Bella Time for Home paper collection.

The inside is sweet and simple with more pretty patterned paper and a little tea/tag pocket.

Winter is the perfect time to stay indoors and play with our paper pretties.  I hope you are staying warm and well during this long, cold month of January!

Winter Botanic Shaker Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I trust you all had a joyous and healthy Christmas celebration.  Perhaps you are taking a day off from the festivities to play in your crafty space.  Christmas may be over, but New Year's Day, and winter birthdays give us a good excuse to create.  I had some scraps left over from my Stamperia Winter Botanic paper pad and thought I would use them to make this cheery shaker card.  It pairs perfectly with RRR Shimmer Satin Moss Ribbon and White Iridescent Metallic String.

Here's a helpful tip:  When you are working with scraps of a paper collection, cut squares from similarly colored papers.  Mat on cardstock, then arrange on your card.  These squares are 2" each, and fit perfectly on this 5" square card when matted on both green and ivory cardstock.

Inside, I layered more scraps of paper to create a pretty winter scene and a pocket with a tea bag and notecard insert.  This would make a great get well card, too!

Welcome to Winter

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Welcome to winter!  Brrr!  While winter has it's own special beauty, it can also be brutal.  So to help you survive the cold, cold season and general misery that winter provides, I've create this cute Winter Survival Kit.

This fun fold card design is a 6" x 6" card with a 5" x 5" card base tucked inside.  I've added 1" spines to both card bases so that I can fit some winter essentials inside.

 Ivory Silky Crush Ribbon glistens like freshly fallen snow and serves as a clever closure for this dimensional card. 

When the ribbon is untied, and the card is fully opened, you'll find a handy dandy winter survival kit tucked inside.

This kit comes with pocket sized tissues, medicated lip balm, and a travel sized moisturizer.  I've added in a tea bag and honey stick to warm you up once you get inside and away from the elements.

Silky Crush Ribbon is the perfect weight and size to serve as the closure for this project.  I  love that it comes in a wide range of colors, too.

Wishing You a Blessed Winter

Hello ribbon lovers.  Today we are beginning a block of posts where you will see pretty ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon paired with wonderful digital stamps and digital papers from Graciellie Design.  We are partnering with Graciellie Design this month to introduce their wonderful designs with you.

For my card today, I used some digital images from the Winter Blessings Set from Graciellie Design and ribbon from the November Ribbon Club Assortment.

The November Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon contains 9 styles and a total of 18 yards of ribbon.  Each monthly assortment is a color or holiday themed assortment of ribbon.  What a fun way to build your ribbon stash and try new ribbon styles.  Treat yourself today!

This was a really quick and easy card to create.  I simply arranged the pine branch and sentiment as I wanted them, printed it out on cardstock and cut the rectangle to size.  I quickly colored the pine branch with Copic Markers G99 and G99 by just flicking.  No need for precision for this coloring job.

Once colored, I layered the central panel on some different color cardstock layers to coordinate with my bow and boom - DONE.  This would be a really great quick and easy assembly line Christmas card, especially if you are low on time.  You could even simplify or eliminate the bow for additional time savings.  The simple ribbon across the center under the sentiment would be enough ribbon if you want the card to be flat for mailing.

Here is a look at the inside using two more of the digis in the set.  No reason why you can't make the inside pretty too.

My pretty bi-color bow was created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using two of the 5/8" ribbons from the November Ribbon Club Assortment.  The center is finished off with a pretty 12mm Dotted Wave Rhinestone.

Let It Snow Card

Hello ribbon lovers!  Bonnie here today with a shimmery winter themed card featuring some pretty ribbons and embellishments from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This is such a wonderful sentiment die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  You may see more of this die!

I love a white and blue color combination and I also used some shimmer cardstock for more of a sparkly winter-type feel.  I also love the wispy white mulberry paper on a winter themed card.

I added a pretty Silver Snowflake Charm below the sentiment panel.  Perfect for this card!

My bow was created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using 5/8" Blue Topaz and Royal Blue Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon.  I added a Silver Glitter Stardust Rhinestone to the center of the bow.

Merry Christmas..

                       Hello......it is my day at RRR.  I am sure you all are busy, busy, busy with family gatherings, eating good foods, and unwrapping presents.  I have two cards to share to kick off a more Wintry theme after this Christmas holiday....and I also had to sneak in my first Valentine card.  I used 1.5 inch Antique gold gingham  on my first card.  My second card I used Strawberry glaze seam binding.  Well that is it for me.....gonna spend all the time I can today with the ones I love!  Merry Christmas!  Cherry

Winter Wonderland...

I am back for a post here at RRR.  Just in the nick of time too.....it has been c------old as you can see in my first picture!  It put me right in the mood for my wintry cards this afternoon.   I got to spend a few hours today working in the craft room....warm and toasty. NO SNOW shoveling today.   I broke out some gorgeous blues and whites and had fun creating these for RRR.    For the last several years I have enjoyed creating "Winter theme" cards...guaranteed to keep the doldrums at bay lol.   Even though Christmas is not quite here it always seems rather sad when the decorations need to be packed away for another year.  So why not create a few Winter greetings to bring a smile to someone's face?  A nice buffer between Christmas and Valentines.   I used papers from graphic 45, Pretty Little Studio, and Echo Park.  Most of my stickers etc are also Echo Park.  I used ribbons  from the "beautiful blues" ribbon assortment, which if you missed it were our ribbon club selections this month.  I also added Sandra white crochet lace and open roses in white, along with white magnolias.  Well that is it for me..hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

"Cozy" Winter Banner

Hello, Friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas and holiday week! These special times with friends and family go by so quickly....but thankfully, the memories last forever! Some of you may have already started taking your holiday decorations down, packing them away until next year. I'm always a little blue when all those pretty baubles are gone. The house looks naked somehow without them. Well, never fear! I have a winter banner that will have you feeling warm and cozy in no time!

I combined Natural Mesh Ribbon and 1/4" Light Blue Chevron Striped Twill Ribbon to make this banner feel fun and festive. The soft blues and browns in Authentique's "Cozy" paper collection match it like they were made for it, and are perfect for projects like this winter banner.

I used white burlap panels and some frayed Ivory Burlap String to add fun texture to my winter bird on the first panel of my banner. If you dab a little glossy accents on your fingertips and then twist the ends of the burlap string, you can easily create this look.

I just love the way the texture in these ribbons adds to the cozy feeling on this winter banner. And, see that teeny, tiny bow tied onto the hanger? I used the 1/2" bow maker setting on my Zutter Bow-it-All to tie it. I tell you, people, I love that tool!

I used a mitten punch to create my cutie pie mittens, and then strung them together with embroidery thread. Remember mittens that were strung together like this, so you wouldn't lose one?

Making this sweet winter banner had me feeling all "Cozy" inside...and I hope you feel that way , too! I think this would be so cute hanging in the kitchen...or in a baby boy's room...or anywhere that you want to add a bit of winter cheer!

Winter Wonderland

                                     Hellllllllllllo to all you RRR peeps...hope your Christmas was warm and magical!   We are just relaxing and trying to get healthy...been some sickness here of late.   I have a project to share made here for RRR.   A lovely little shabby altered project made to brighten a winter's day after the excitement of Christmas has waned.   I combined a vintage knitting spool with some chipboard, diecut scallops, an image, and some yummy buttons.  I used both silver seam binding and lace blue to adorn the top of my spool.  Enjoy and have a relaxing Winter holiday!  Cherry
