Decorated Glitter Egg wit RRR

Hello everyone, DT member Cheryl here with a fun little project. I decorated this glitter egg using Really Reasonable Ribbon supplies. Love doing these!

Egg I bought at Walmart, and then used the flowers from RRR stamens , and little embellishment, and ribbon.

Ribbon I used is really reasonable ribbons satin, I used a pink cherry blossom flower, some mini and regular size sweetheart blossoms, Open roses, rosebuds, and another little flower. I hot glued the flowers all on the ribbon leaves, and had a lot of fun doing this.

Shaker Cards Duo by Cherry Nelson

 Hellllllllllllllllo my paper peeps!  Cherry here today to share a couple of shaker cards made with Really Reasonable Ribbon trims, flowers, and stamens.  Bonnie has such a great selection of all those goodies. I have been into pinks and peaches lately.  It is fun to try different color combos, isn't it?  I created these shakers using old Sizzix die frames and then just added some recycled acetate to cover the fronts.  The more foam adhesive you have on back, the deeper your shaker card will be. It creates a reverse shadow box effect and if you know me....I love lots of dimension. That allows the sequins to really be able to move around...which is half the fun.  I am developing quite the collection of different things to add to shaker cards.  Well that is it for me today friends.  Please scroll down for list of RRR supplies.  Stay healthy and safe my friends

Sweet Baby Girl Card

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday to you all.
Cheryl here today and I have a super sweet baby girl card I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon using their beautiful flowers, ribbons, embellishment, and adhesives. LOVE the sweet ribbon and flowers I used on this one.

For the card base I chose a white card stock to create a 6" x 6" card, and then layered with design papers in pinks and white card stock.  These were found in my scrap stash. I did add some decorative sewing to the edges of each layer.  I also used some Cheery Lynn designs dies for the sweet rocking horse and the frame.  I embellished with the gorgeous ribbons and will list all RRR items below. I used some glitz on the rocking horse, to give a little sparkle, and then a little tiny bow with an embellishment to complete the horse. The big bow was made using the beautiful Canvas colored band with the stitched edge in pink.

How Does your Garden Grow?

 Do you enjoy spending time in your garden?  I created this layout to showcase some of my flowers using some beautiful ribbons and embellishments from Really Reason Ribbon.

I used the beautiful ribbon from this month's ribbon assortment - Pink & Purple Mix.

I then added the Bling Ribbon Slider to the beautiful Danielle White Crochet Lace to add additional softness to the layout.

I then added some of the Ivory/Blue Dimco 2 Flowers to add more dimension.

I hope this inspires you to capture your garden in your scrapbooks.

Chicken Pin Cushions

Hello Crafty Friends, and Happy Friday to you all! Today I'm sharing a Chicken Pin Cushion that I made using ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to embellish with. It's always nice to find other ways to use ribbon and laces, and I think this was a fun way! I Love how these turned out, using ribbons, seam binding, lace, flowers, and leaves all from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

So for the tail feathers I chose to rouche up seam binding instead of using material.  I used this in place of it. This is the Rose Petal Seam Binding from RRR.  I also wanted to use some ribbons, and chose for my ribbon treatment on my chicken to use the Delicate Stitched Ribbon and Pink Canvas Colored Band with Stitched Edge Ribbon.  I used a Rose bud in Hot pink and 2 metal Antique Bronze leaf charms to finish off my ribbon treatment. For the the top feathers I used the beautiful Lace called Arianna Lace.

The material I used is one of my Favorites, it's called Welcome Home.  It's a cotton, and I love the shabby chic/Vintage look along with all of the beautiful supplies from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I used a lot of my favorites on this one. I ended up making 5 of these pin cushions some with feathers, and others with the lace and seam binding, super fun project if you like to give it a try :)

 Here is a photo of two of the chickens I made. The smaller one was made from leftover quilting squares I had. I also used the same seam bindings, adding a white one, and then some white lace. Last Minute Valentine Tips and Tricks

Hello, Ribbon Lovers! I'm back today with more Schoolhouse Vintage Valentine Cards and Tags. With the Day of Love just a week away, I know we are all looking for some last minute Valentines that are quick and easy to make. But we also want them to look great, right? So these little cards and tags come together in about 20 minutes each, but look like you spent hours and hours on them. That's a win/win in my book!

 

How cute are these Schoolhouse Vintage Valentine cards and tags? Once again, I used the Schoolhouse Vintage Valentine digital download from Polly's Paper Etsy Shop and paired them up with some fabulous ribbons and flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Tips and Tricks for Making Quick Cards

 

 There are some simple tricks I use when I need to make a quick card that I thought you might find helpful:

• Keep a file full of scrap papers that you've cut to measure 4" x 6". I have mine organized in a bin by color. That way, I can just reach in and grab papers that go well with my images and quickly cut them to fit my card base. It's a huge time saver, and a great way to use up your scraps.
• Keep an ephemera file for small tickets, tags, and other goodies that you can layer in with your papers. I have a small bin that is full of little bits and pieces I've salvaged.
• Be prepared! Tie a bunch of neutral bows and store them for future use. This black and white houndstooth plaid is one of my favorite ribbons. It goes with everything and ties beautifully. I always tie an extra single or double loop bow and then toss it in a little container. That way, the work is already done for me when I'm in a hurry!
• Don't worry about matting each layer. Since these cards are more simple, maybe just mat the focal image to make it stand out. This will save loads of time!

Make a Tag!

 

Another trick that I use when I'm in a hurry is to make a little tag. Instead of packing my scraps away in the scrap drawer (aka "the land Kathy forgot") I'll make a quick little tag and pop on a pre-tied bow. This grey plaid ribbon is another favorite of mine. The neutral color goes with so many different palettes..and always looks great with pink.  

Don't have any pre-tied bows? Add flowers for texture!  

This sheer white organza is another ribbon that I use quite often. Again, it's a neutral so it goes with everything. The real bonus here is the texture and shimmer it adds to a project.

Sunshine Flower by Jenn Cochran

Happy Sunday everyone!  So glad the sun is still shining her in Colorado.  I was overwhelmed seeing the snow flying in Northern Colorado on Friday!  I am totally not ready for Winter.  How about all of you?

Today I have a sunshine flower for you with a pretty little yellow bow.

I have used the Delicate Stitched Satin in yellow for my bow.  I tied a double bow using the Bow It All 2.0, also found at RRR.  If you LOVE this ribbon like I do, this assortment is a great buy!

Ribbons and Roses

Hi everyone.  Teresa here again on this amazing Wednesday.  I have a quick and easy card to share with all of you today that I did with some  6x6 papers by Teresa Collins (Save the Date) and my favorite Seam Binding Ribbon.  Since spring is just around the corner I picked lots of soft pastels and a simple super tiny black dot to set it off with.

For my card I cut a 5x5 inch piece of white cardstock to make the base and then layered smaller pieces of the printed cardstock and put 3D Foam dots between them.  For the top layer I used a new Spellbinders die from the Laced with Love collection called Blooming Collection.  I used the outer piece for the frame in white and the inner circle.  For the sentiment I used an adhesive sticker from SRM that says You're Special to me, and it fit perfectly.  To finish my card I added a pretty seam binding bow in Rose Petal and added a few roses and tulle too.  It went together really quick and now it's all ready to give to someone.

You are fabulous Mini Book

I was so inspired with the new colors this month for our August Ribbon Club Assortment I really, really had fun with my projects to share this month.  I found a few new things that of course i had to have, lots of RRR ribbons and added a few things I had in my stash.  This easel is a great find by Heidi Swapp and you can even ink it in colors or use color sprays to make it whatever you want it to be.

So today i am sharing this mini book that i did with the easel I picked up and some fun papers by Kaisercraft called Spring Bloom.  The rich oranges, greens and pinks were perfect to mix with my new ribbons and there is lots of places for photos to put of my daughter and her friends. 

 On this page i used the Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon with a red line down the center. I think it mixes in really well with the kraft tags and the embossing on them.

 You can never have enough colors of bakers twine and i love adding a little texture on my pages just by tying a quick bow on it.  You can find all the twine colors in the shop here.....

On this page i used a kraft envelope and glued it down and then covered it with a piece of

kraft paper that i embossed.  I just added a pretty white seam binding ribbon with a pin and a few

stickers from the sticker sheet in the set.  Super quick and easy and this way i can add more

photos if i wanted to.  And you could make a journaling card to put inside too.

I especially love this wired woven chevron ribbon and love the way it mixes with all the 

other pretty ribbons that i have.  I mixed the seam binding with it and added a little

bit of jute just because i am a little addicted to using it lately.  I love how it looks and

the ribbons has the prettiest design with the satin and mat together.

Sweet Recipes Book

Hi.  It's Teresa today sharing a recipe book that I created after finding lots of goodies cleaning up my craft room this week.  Nope, there was no pre-planned project in mind but I had this idea to make up a recipe book for all the goodies that I find on Pinterest and since I found so many fun things to use this is what I came up with and it went together really quick too.....

To start, I found this simple chipboard book and this piece of polka dotted paper and I had lots and lots of pretty pink ribbons from RRR shop to tie up the sides so it all kind of came together from there.  Here are all the ribbons that I used: Gingham check ribbon, Seam Binding, metallic edged satin ribbon, white crochet lace, satin w/grossgrain ribbon, swirls organza ribbon, and some tulle in pink.  I love doing these books because you can use so many ribbons for the insides and to tie up the outside to make it beautiful.

The birdcage, flower and corner piece are from Spellbinders dies that I cut to match the ribbons.  The envelope I had in my stash and the wooden pieces are from Prima.  Inside I bought some recipe cards and matted them in black and glued them on each page.  I think this will end up being a gift ... but I better get busy... there are so many recipes to decide from to put in it.

Fall Flower Makeover Tutorial

  Hi there all, it's Ginny here to share a great tutorial on how you can transform basic flowers from the craft store ( or your own stash lol. I know we all have faux flowers in our supplies.) I needed some flowers to embellish a fall inspired mini album we were creating for our class this week...and try as I might I could not find any that fit the size or style I needed without them looking too "Thanksgivingy" So I transformed these rather plain flowers into a warmer and seasonally fitting embellishment.

Basic flower off a stem with lot's of the same blooms. It's not really so bad...but it can be better!

Pull the layers apart.

Cut the shank off the center. It's plastic...so it's pretty easy to get through.

Ink all the layers. I used my current favorite Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Cut rough circles from Faux Burlap Antique Gold trim and roll to tatter edge.

Reassemble using hot glue between the layers.

Using Bisque Liquid Pearls smash and spread it into the center to lighten it up and along the petals to add a shimmery accent. I think you could have fun experimenting with different colored flowers and inks and pearls. Maybe a Christmasy poinsettia?

I trimmed these leaf shapes from another stem...the leaves were actually too big to use in their  original state....so I just nipped them in a bit. To the edges I added a nice line of Cinnamon Stickles for detail.
Once I had two of the  flowers transformed...I got out the glue gun again and attached them close to the base.. then layered them over the jazzed up leaves.

I think they look fabulous on this Count your Blessings Fall Mini Album....it's seasonal without being Thanksgivingy. Hope this inspires you to give your flowers a makeover so they will coordinated perfectly with your projects!
