Non-traditional Winter Birthday Card by Cherry Nelson

Hello my fellow ribbon lovers.  Cherry here today! I hope that your holidays were healthy, merry, and spent with those you love.  Today I am sharing a card created with that special someone you might know that has the dreaded winter birthday.  It takes one to know one...mine falls right before Christmas.  I always got some of my birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper; so  I think it is always a little extra special to remember someone that has a birthday around this time of year.  Make them a winter themed birthday card, I promise they will appreciate it.

I used a combination of ribbons and twines from Bonnie's store (make sure to scroll down for full supply list) The image is an old vintage one from a 1960's Christmas card.  I loved the non traditional colors, especially the yellow.  To me it helped to keep this card still in season, but not screaming Christmas.

I created a shaker with my circle dies and filled it with some fun sequins.  From there, a couple of vintage buttons were added with the thread still in them.   I then embossed a birthday sentiment, added some pretty florals and leaves and called it a day!

I love how it turned out ...and I LOVE that I got to use this pretty non traditional plaid.  I could use ginghams and plaids all day long...and some polka dots too and never tire of them.

Hope that you have enjoyed this and please stay healthy and creative (of course!!!)

XOXO,

Cherry

Santa Snowflake Ornament

Do you love decorating for the holidays?  Each year I add a few more handmade ornaments to my Christmas tree.  I created this whimsical and easy Santa snowflake ornament using the beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon October Christmas Assortment.
I combine gathered the white lace from the assortment, adhering it to the snowflake.  Next I created a bow and glued a white flat back pearl to the center.
Then I added a hanger with the Cherry Baker's Twine.  This ornament was so easy and quick to make that it would make a cute tag for gifts.  Just add the "To" and "From" to the back of the ornament and adhere it to the gift box or bag.  Then the recipient will have a cute present topper that they can hang on their tree.
Wishing you a creative day, dear friends.

Shake a Little Love

Hello ribbon lovers!  Let's shake it up a bit this Valentine's Day.  Why not create this sweet shaker of love to give to yourself or someone special?
I created this sweet salt shaker photo holder using beautiful ribbons from the January Ribbon AssortmentBakers Twine Cherry and the Pearl Heart Ribbon Sliders.
I filled the salt shaker with red glass glitter and then wrapped it with the ribbon and added the slider.  Next I used wire to create the photo/image holder.
To complete it, I tied the tag on and added glitter glue to the ribbons and images for extra shimmer.
This is a simple project that is easily created in a few minutes.
So create a few to keep and give away!

Country Christmas Memory Folder

Hello sweet friends!  Today, I am sharing a homespun Country Christmas Memory Folder.
I enjoy using beautiful country and vintage inspired lace, ribbons and images to document our holiday memories.

I used the Cotton Blend Holiday Snowflakes Ribbon, the Debra Natural Crochet Lace and the Baker's Twine Cherry throughout this memory folder.

The great thing about the twine is you can easily use it to floss your buttons.
Wishing you a wonderfully creative day.

Hooray for Red, White and Blue!

Today's card shows off some fun stamps by Jen Del Muro's new company - Reverse Confetti. I love what she is coming out with - lots of fun, whimsical sentiments, and cute images. The set I used today is called Happy Harbor.
I love red, white and blue cards, and although this isn't patriotic, it still packs a punch with that color scheme. I wanted a semi-CAS look, so kept a lot of white space in the circle. I used both of the Nautical embossing folders by Lifestyle Crafts - one on the red background of anchors and one on the white middle panel with stripes. The DP is from the Carta Bella Beach Boardwalk Collection. I used Memento's Nautical Blue and Love Letter inks on my Ultra Smooth Premium White CS.

The Red Ric Rac, Cherries Jubilee button, and Cherry Baker's Twine from the RRR Store were perfect for my nautical design. The white string is from my stash of yarns and strings.

I hope all my American ribbon friends have a wonderful celebration of Independence Day this week!

Naughty or Nice?

Well, this post is bittersweet for me, it's my last post with RRR. I have enjoyed my time here tremendously and am happy to have made some new and lasting scrappy friends! The new DT will keep inspiring us and I will still be visiting all the time! Thank you to Bonnie and the entire team!

I am in the Christmas spirit and thought I would use some of the ribbon from Christmas Sheer with Satin Center assortment. This ribbon is just perfect for any Christmas project that you have planned!

I used MOXXIE Party at the Pole paper and diecuts. I also added some Baker's Twine in Cherry, just a few little bows!!! I made the candy pieces by just drawing circles and using my Zig markers. I added a little bit of the sparkle with "Wink of Stella" by Zig too. I added the little Baker's Twine bows to the center of a few.

Here is a close up of the double bow, where I used the red and white ribbon from the assortment. It looks so festive together!

Here is another closeup of the little candy pieces with the Baker's Twine. I had so much fun playing with this page! I'm going to get a head start on my Christmas cards with some of this ribbon too!

Well, thank you so much for stopping by, and thank you for all the sweet comments you've left on my posts over my term here! I have really enjoyed working with these gorgeous ribbons and trim. I will continue to buy them now, I am totally hooked!!! Don't forget to come back by to see what else the DT has in store!!!

Beach Page!!!

Happy Hump Day everyone! It's Patti, and I apologize for getting my post up late. We've had some family issues (medical) lately and I've gotten off track, but everything is better now. I'm going to share a project today that I did using a mixture of some gorgeous ribbon and trim.

This is my sweet little cousin at the beach, and her little swimsuit was lots of fun to match ribbon to! LOL! I used some leftover scraps from several Echo Park paper collections.

Here you can see a closeup of the ribbons and trims. I layered the satin with scalloped edge pink with the diamond satin red on top first. Then made bows with the cherry baker's twine and the thin hemp twine layered on the aqua organza.

These are just closeups of a little bit of the detail of the other elements.

And, one more of the little layered bows:

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you liked the page! Have fun playing with your Really Reasonable Ribbon goodies!!!!
