Sheer Ruffled Edge Ribbon and Crochet Lace Makes Me Full of Joy!!

Hi...it's Connie here...I have a fun Christmas card for you today which is showcasing two yummy ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store - Sheer Ruffled Edge Old Gold and 5/8" Ivory Crochet Lace!! Behind the image I placed two strips of the old gold ribbon and the layered it with the crochet lace. I then added another strip of the same old gold ribbon and topped it off with a bow tied with the bow easy and a gold gem to finish it all off!

This fun reindeer image is from the Flourished Christmas Stamp set from Flourishes. I stamped it with Memento black ink and colored it with copics. I cut it out with a Labels 10 nestabilities sponged with some Tea Die Distress Ink. The DP is from My Minds Eye Holly Jolly collection.

Thanks so much for visiting today. For more cards and projects using ribbons from RRR you can check out my blog!!

Holiday cheer

Are you thinking of your holiday entertaining yet?  Are the neighbours coming over for eggnog?  Here's a project that will net you lots of compliments over the holiday season this year and for many years to come.
These instructions are for one coaster, but of course you can do multiples at the same time using some careful cutting and sewing.
Supplies:  felt (I used white and  green), assorted ribbons from the wonderful Christmas selection, iron-on adhesive (I used Heat & Bond), sewing machine, iron, and a circle template (small dish or can of tuna will do).
Trace your circle template onto 2 equal sized squares of felt, one white and one green.  (The green felt square below with the circle drawn on it will be the underside of your coaster.)  Cut one same sized square of iron-on adhesive and iron it onto the white felt square.  Peel off backing.  Cut strips of ribbon and lay them onto this side of the felt as shown.  Run the iron over the ribbons once they are all in place.  (There's no need to have all the pieces of ribbon firmly stuck down.  They only need to be held in place sufficiently to allow you to sew them onto the felt backing.)

With your sewing machine on a generous zigzag stitch, sew the ribbons to the felt backing.
Cut another square of iron-on adhesive and iron it onto the back of the ribbon square.   Peel off the backing and place the green felt square back-to-back with the ribbon square (adhesive on the inside).  Run the iron over the ribbon side just until there is a loose bond formed (to hold the two squares together while you sew around the edges).
Turn the bonded squares over to show the green felt backing with the circle marked on it, and cut around the circle.  Cut a loop of red/white twisted rope, knot it, leaving a short 'tail' below the knot.  Peel the two sides of the coaster apart at its top end just enough to insert the tail of rope between them.  Pin in place temporarily while you sew around the edge.
Using the zigzag stitch again sew around the edge of the coaster as shown.
And voila ...!  One coaster ready for a drink!
NOTE:  Of course these little baubles can be used as tree decorations too, so consider them a dual purpose creation.  A set of them would make a great gift, or a single one would be perfect for a teacher gift.
Have fun!

Gift Giving Ideas with Ribbon

Happy Monday everyone and thanks for stopping by the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog. With Christmas right around the corner, I've been busy making gift boxes, personalized wrapping paper and little gifts. Today I'm sharing a great little trinket box with you that I created using some Paris Creativity bling and one of my favorite black ribbons available at the Really Reasonable Ribbon store.

I love using my Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner to create quick pleating with ribbon. For this project I ran the Quick Fix Adhesive Runner around the edge of the lid, then started pinching the ribbon to create this beautiful effect. What do ya think?

Try folding your ribbon in different ways and then adhering to Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive. You would find a bunch of different ways to create stunning projects.

Thanks again for stopping by.

It's Christmas Time at Really Reasonable Ribbon!!!

A very happy Sunday to all of you RRR lovers and followers from all of the Ramblers at the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Rambling's blog. Gosh, what a tongue twister!!! If you are not a Follower, we hope you will become one so that you can see different gorgeous ribbons and trims from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Shop each day of the week! Bonnie has an unbelievably amazing selection of ribbon BUT her selection of Christmas specialty ribbons is AMAZING!!! So wander on over and see for yourself what a delight it is to shop in her store! You can be assured that her customer service is unsurpassed also!!

I would like to show you a couple of my latest cards which are poster children for Bonnie's Really Reasonable Ribbons!!

On this card I have used the 5/8" Sheer Ruffle Edge White ribbon for the horizontal. The lovely sheerness of the ribbon adds a bit of elegance and the ruffled edges give so much body, dimension, and stability. Bows made with this ribbon just pop off of the page! Just love it and it is available in 7 yummy colors!

On this card, using the traditional Christmas colors, I made full use 3 different ribbons. First I used 1.5" Red Grosgrain to establish the horizontal. For a sentiment requirement I selected 3/8" Merry Christmas Satin to add on top of the grosgrain. And finally for a little bit of whimsy I used 1/4" Ruby Red Satin to make two of the tiniest bows using the Bow Easy Tool. I can't tie a bow using wider ribbon so can you believe what that Bow Easy Tool can do??? Incredible!!!

Although I am a lover of all things RIBBON, I have found that by using ribbon or trims for different elements of any sketch, it is amazing how much texture and interest you can add to your cards. I also complete the insides of my cards using the same ribbons and trims I have used on the fronts of the cards. If you would like to have a peek, I would love for you to drop over to see me at MY BLOG.

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what RAMBLINGS are happening today! We hope you will come back every day to visit us! So until next Sunday....big hugs from Jacque!!

Christmas Box

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to all! My Christmas Box today showcases Really Reasonable Ribbon's beautiful "Red Glitz Ribbon" that measures 5/8" wide.
I'm loving the Red Glitz ribbon. It's easy to make bows and handmade flowers like I've done on my box. I made 3 flowers for the bottom of the die-cut and 1 for the bow. They are super easy to make. I used Scor-Tape in 1/2" to secure my roses. Then I hot glued them to my tag. I added some sewing with gold thread, and stamped my verses from Heartfelt Creations!

For around the sides I used the Martha Stewart deep edge punch. The dp is Holly Jolly, and I used some pieces I had leftover from another project. I'm loving the color of the glitz ribbons, and there are sooo many Beautiful Christmas Ribbons to choose from HERE at Really Reasonable Ribbon!
Thank you for looking and have a lovely weekend!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Thankful for Jute Ribbon

With Thanksgiving just one week away, I thought I'd create a little home decor piece. Something to remind us of the reason for the celebration. Here's what I came up with.

Give Thanks Wreath

For the base of my wreath, I cut a 12" diameter circle from cardboard. It's actually the cardboard from a pack of cardstock. LOVE to recycle! Then, I covered and embellished it with patterned paper and paper piecings. All of my leaves and flowers are stacked and popped using Pop Dots and Glue Dots.

To give the wreath even more texture, I added in some Natural Jute Ribbon. I just cut out little squares from the roll and tucked them behind parts of my clusters using some Glue Dots. Another fun little touch are the Chocolate Pearls inside the centers of the sun flowers. You can find a HUGE assortment of these Kaiser Pearls in the store at such a great price! I finished off the wreath with some chipboard alphas and more jute ribbon for hanging.

Thanks for popping in today! Hope you're feeling inspired to create a little Thanksgiving project of your own. You can certainly find plenty of supplies in the store. See you next week with a little gobbler and a tutorial!
