Sympathy Card

Hello Friends!! Happy Thursday!! Heather here and today I am sharing a Sympathy card that I was asked to make.  I have such a hard time with sympathy cards...what is the right thing to say..what kind of image to use etc.  So I thought I would just stick to my normal style (not to many poofy embellishments..so it would fit in an envelope).  I decided to stick to a simple sentiment as well.

The rose image is from the Graphic's Fairy, the patterned papers are digital papers from Gecko Galz.   I used these fabby ribbons and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Danielle White Crochet lace, Moss green leaves, aqua baker's twine, Pink Salmon seam binding, marshmallow candies, candies fix it foam pads, Natural Crochet lace and scor tape.

Above is a close up of my sweet little seam binding bow, want to make one??.... you can see my BFF Ginny's tutorial here.  I also have the rose image elevated with the candi fix it foam pads, so that I could put the Danielle lace underneath it.

I inked all my edges with Ranger's Vintage photo.  I inked the marshmallow candies as well, and elevated them with the candi fix it foam pads!

Above you can see the Danielle crochet lace, the aqua baker's twine and my fav moss green leaves!  I also tucked in some  Natural Crochet lace at the top and bottom of my rose image. On the inside I added the sentiment..."Our thoughts and prayers are with you."  Of course I forgot a photo of the inside...LOL. One last look at the whole card.

Here is a peek of another project that I did using my favorite Moss green leaves, Danielle White Crochet lace, aqua baker's twine, Pink Salmon seam binding, candies fix it foam pads, light blue crochet lace, orange swirls ribbon and orange buttons from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I am sporting my new Orange sunglasses :0)  Lately I have been having a flashback to the 70's when Orange was my favorite color (all started when my best online buddie Carol's dd wore a fabby orange dress to Prom.

Spiral Mini Brag Book

Here is super sweet tiny scrapbook that would be the perfect little brag book...just big enough for a good sized wallet photo and room to journal your special memories.  And in case you're wondering if I used the entire package of die cut images on this project.......yup! I clearly need supervision from a more responsible adult. I used lovely trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon to finish off this mini...pretty enough to give as a gift....as long as you fill it with pic of the kiddos first!

So this mini started with a base of a small spiral notebook. I added loads of paper layers and those die cuts I mentioned above. I added the Juliet lace to the top to make it more vintagy. And tied with coordinating ribbon trim.

As you can see...all the pages are similar...but different. I sandwiched 10 sheets of the notebook paper between each finished page...so it's surprisingly sturdy and chunky. This would be a great way to use up scraps!!!!! I would recommend keeping the embellishing to just paper layers for the inside...as it does get a bit bulky. I hope this inspires you to create your own mini brag book....and gift it to someone special : ) I also hope you all have a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative. Huggs Ginny

Peace ~ Love & Tacos

Yep...you read that right!  My latest creation was for my stinkin' 12 year old to hang in her bedroom.  It is a Peace sign that totes her FAVORITE quote...

unfinished section.

Mod Podge

a sponge applicator

an X-acto knife

sanding paper

random embellishments including

Your Choice of Ribbons 

I chose to use Apple Green Sheer Organza for my cluster

And VOILA!  You re finished with a super COOL super CUTE little project that Any teenager will love!

    I don't know if anyone is still around these parts?   I have a card made for RRR .  I love making baby cards...a little bittersweet since mine is almost grown but it allows me to at least hold on to the nostalgia and memories.   I used an old book page for my main image on this.  I added some stamping at the bottom, foam embellishments, and a spray painted library plate to frame out part of my sentiment.   I used silver seam binding, baby pink seam binding, and Carolina white crochet lace.                       Love pink and soft greys together and love to mix and match my seam bindings sometimes.   Hope you enjoy!  Cherry   

I Love Baker's Twine

I love Baker's Twine. No matter if you choose a small amount or a lot, it always adds such a fun look to your designs. Today I have two samples to show you: one with a very little bit and one with more.

For my first design I chose Flourishes' Strawberries for my images.

I stamped on Ultra Smooth White Cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then colored in using Spectrum Noir markers. I added three rows of Licorice Baker's Twine and a brad for my embellishments.

The banner is hand cut and my paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Tea for Two Collection.

The second design uses images from Paper Smooches (Wicked Nauticool) and has just a tad of twine in the button. I LOVE the buttons that Bonnie carries in the RRR Store. You can see all the many colors HERE.

This button is from the Cherries Jubilee Collection and the twine is Cherry Baker's Twine.

Both cards use Scor-Tape to hold everything together! Thanks for stopping by today~
