Mini pom pom flowers & Video

Hello everyone!

Today's card was designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the Beautiful Ribbons and Pom Pom Mini trim that Bonnie carries at the shop. In the picture above you can see the beautiful shimmer somewhat of the Creative Inspiration paints Angel Dust Resplendence Glitter that I used on the leaves. I love the look and in person its sooo pretty!!!

For my card I used Really Reasonable Ribbon Red Mini Pom Pom Trim to create the centers of the flowers. I will show you how to make this flower in my video below! The flowers are CottageCutz Tropical Trio Flowers Die (4 x6). I cut them out in a dark blue, and then lightly distressed them with Tim Holtz ink. I will post my video below showing how I made these sweet lil' flowers :)

The Happy Mother's Day stamp is a SU! one that I used. I stamped it with Memento black ink on the CottageCutz oval frame. My design paper is one that I got in a warehouse sale from Pink Paislee and figured I should probably use it now :) Hubby bought this package for me last year.
The Really Reasonable Ribbons I used for my bow are the Circus Dots Grosgrain Red 7/8" , and Blue Satin with Metallic edge. I also used some pearls from RRR found here!

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

You've All Got Em

Oh how we hoard the craft supplies. I am sooooo guilty. I just know I'll use up every little thing...if I only keep it long enough.  Let's see a show of hands if you're with me...no..keep em up so we can count...yep. Every single one of you lol.
Need a little inspiration??? Well I can't help you with the whole stash...but if you're holding on to silk flower stems with leaves on them....you've come to the right place.
I'll show you a little sneaky peek of my project....it a lovely shabby chic tag.

These leaves had a shape I liked....but the colors were not so much shabby chic. I started by pulling the leaves off the stem. The secret ingredient is my favorite Scor-Tape ( Yes I know I use it on everything.)

Use the Scor-Tape to cover the leaves. Don't be too concerned if it runs over the edge...you'll be trimming it later. It's also more interesting to choose different size leaves. For my project I chose the Olive Wrinkle Ribbon and Faux Natural Burlap.

Choose a trim that will coordinate with your project and press it firmly into the tape and trim off excess. The tape will keep the sides from raveling. They are also bulkier and have a nice structure. Some leaves even have a wire in the back...so once you have the trim applied....you can bend them into a perfect shape.

I used my leaves layered under some pretty paper roses that I swiped from my BFF Heather's craft room lol. Just kidding. She treated me to lot's of flowers for helping her organize her ribbon : )
One last look at the finished tag.
I added some real vintage buttons, crystal headed pins, a metal mailing tag, some Juliet Lace and a sweet little bow of Ivory Wrinkle Ribbon. Last but not least an inked paper doily.
Okay...that used up 4 leaves out of the stash...I guess I better keep my thinkin cap on.
I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) G

National Scrapbook Day

Today is National Scrapbook Day!
Have you got any crops you are going to?
Participating in On-line festivities?
However you plan on spending your day today...
CELEBRATE it!
I have always tried to celebrate this day for as long as I have scrapped.
It is a day designated JUST for Scrappers!
How awesome is that!!??

In honor of today, I am sharing a layout that I did.
This layout is about ME.  I do not usually do layouts about myself at all.
This one is though...and I
used my most current favorite color combo. Here is an inspiration photo that I used...

I used the gorgeous
to hang the "frames" from
and some Bamboo Cord  to hang the banner.

I thoroughly enjoy scrapping, and I always add ribbon of some sort to my layouts.
IF NO OTHER DAY OF THE YEAR...
take time today to sit and do something crafty.
Hey...do a layout about yourself!
You might find that you actually like it! LOL
Have a WONDERFULLY CRAFTY
National Scrapbook Day 2013!!!!

Sweet baby boy....

I might be partial....but baby boys are so sweet!  I don't care what they say...girls are more fun to dress...yada yada rofl!  I love the blues you get to use with baby boys. Ever Since I made the baby girl album for RRR I knew I wanted to create a boy one.  I created this using a chipboard base...painted it white and distressed the heck out of it  I love the worn areas....then inking them to age it a bit.  Lots of Crate papers, buttons, Epiphany Craft epoxies. I added a couple of pockets that could be used to tuck little love notes about baby in or snippets of hair.  I enjoy having extra areas to tuck memories in.  As I said last time...my fave part is tying the ribbons on.   I love using different patterns and layering them with embellishments.  I used a rocking horse, a block, and a chipboard flashcard.  The ribbons I used are grosgrain circus dots lt blue, gingham light blue micro,  and checkerboard light blue satin .  So much fun!  I am thinking a wedding one next....I am kinda hooked.  Hope you enjoy!  Hugs, cherry

Find Joy

Happy May! I would love to see some flowers on May Day, but since we had freezing drizzle yesterday, I will have to be satisfied with looking at them on this card! I am really wishing for a warmer Spring right now, and lots of flowers in my garden.
My card today uses a sentiment from Flourishes' Old Fashioned Florals. I stamped the sentiment with Elegant Eggplant (SU!) ink.
The trims are White Mini Pom Poms and Black Licorice Baker's Twine. I added some Snow Pearls for embellishments. Everything is held together with Scor-Tape.

My designer papers are from Basic Grey's Sweet Threads 12 x 12 Collection. I have so many 12 x 12 papers and never use them, so thought I would start making a teeny dent in that stash.
I hope it is warmer in your garden~!

Stamps: Flourishes Old Fashioned Florals
Paper: SU! Sage Shadow, Colorbok Textured White, Basic Grey Sweet Threads DP
Ink: SU! Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Kaiser Snow Pearls, Licorice Baker's Twine, White Mini Pom Poms, Basic Grey Sweet Threads Stickers

To do this is really easy and all you need to do is go to Customise > Settings > Comments > then scroll down to where it says comment moderation and select always (this won't stop anybody leaving you a comment but they won't show on your blog till you approve them). Then scroll down to show word verification for comments? and select No.
We love to visit your blogs and leave comments on all the terrific entries, but the word verification really slows us down. :o)
