LOVE Tag

Hello everyone and Happy New Year to you all!
I'm writing this while in bed sick with the flu, it's been 4 days now, and hubby and I are both sick :(  not fun!!! Anyway, I am super excited to share this sweet tag I created using lots of sweet goodies from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I used flowers, ribbon, leaves, foam tabs, and embellishments.

The base layers of my tag are created using all Cheery Lynn dies. Next I stamped my sentiment from I Brake For stamps in black ink, and then hot glued the rhinestone flower to the center of the O. hehehee

Next to start the cluster of flowers and ribbon, I started with the 1/8" striped ribbon, glued it down and then my looped bow made out of the DARLING Really Reasonable Ribbon "Hearts & Bows on pink pearl satin"  . After that I glued down the brown leaves and some branches.  Then I added the rose and other flowers which are all listed below. I really had a lot of fun creating this tag, and will add it to a birthday gift.  I think I know just the one.

Happy New Year!

Hi friends.  Bonnie here with you for the last post of the year for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Wow - how can it be the last day of 2016??!!!

This card features a fun new Shaker Card die from Cheery Lynn Designs along with Silver and Gold Glitz Ribbon.  Glitz Ribbon is fast becoming one of my favorite ribbons for creating gorgeous bows.  It performs wonderfully.

I wrapped some Silver Metallic String around the middle of the card and also used some to accent each side of the sentiment.

My bow was created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using Silver and Gold Glitz Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used a 14mm Flower Shaped Acrylic Rhinestone Embellishment in the center of the bow.

Christmas Hair Accessories

Hi all,

Today is my last post for Really Reasonable Ribbon. I am so sad to be leaving such a wonderful team. I feel so honored to have been a part of Bonnie's team and to have worked with her for the past 6 months.I have learned so much from Bonnie and the team. I truly have loved every minute of it and loved working with such beautiful ribbons from her store. Thank you Bonnie for having me on your team, I've had so much fun!

For my last post I made a few items with the beautiful ribbons from this months Ribbon Club Assortment - Traditional Christmas Mix. I seriously had a hard time deciding on what to make. lol
I made several different hair accessories with this beautiful assortment. I used Bonnie's tutorial again to make the hairband and I made a baby hair clip and a regular hair clip. Of course I am giving a couple to my granddaughter and one to my great neice Sophia, who was just born.

Traditional Christmas Mix

 For this headband I used Bonnie's tutorial showing you how to use ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon to create these awesome headbands. I added a bow on top of the headband with a little red flower embellishment.

These are new in the store and they are so so cute. I totally love these

little embellishment. They are 10mm Resin Flower with Rhinestone Flatback

Cabochons. I have the multi colored pack that comes with red, white and other colors.

Traditional Christmas Mix. These ribbons are truly beautiful bright greens and reds for

Christmas, they are just gorgeous. I coldn't help but add the cute little flowers in the middle. 

These little flowers are just so cute. Great addition to any project. 

Here is the back of the first hairclip using the 2 3/8 inch round head snap clip.

I only glued the ribbon on the top of the clip and at the ends of the bottom of the clip, as I didn't 

want it to have an affect on the opening and closing of the clip. I created a triple layered bow with my Bow it All, bow maker. I then double layered my bows, last I glued the little acrylic flower on top of the bow.  

A close up of the side of the 2nd hair clip, showing how I glued the ribbon onto the Rectangular clip with teeth.  These little hair clips are just perfect to make baby hair clips.

An Elegant Brooch for the Holidays

  Hello, friends!  Hope your holiday crafting is going well.  Just this week I had the great pleasure of a visit from my mother.  There was quite a bit of crafting and knitting while chatting and laughing until we cried type of activity, and I'm so grateful for the time we had together.  Today I'm going to share with you one of the results of our crafting adventures.    

  That's my tiny little Pupusa that I rescued off the streets of East LA a little less than two years ago.   We have no idea what mix of breeds she is made up of - chihuahua, yorkie, mexican hairless perhaps?  Whatever the mix, she's absolutely precious to me and has the most crazy entertaining personality that I've ever encountered in a dog.     Dressing this dog up totally cracks me up!  She's a tad over seven pounds and with little body hair, sweaters are a practical necessity.  Luckily, she's so tiny, I never need more than one skein of yarn for her outfits!  This sweater was pretty basic (it had to be because I'm a very novice knitter), so I decided to add a festive brooch haha!

was made using the same easy technique.  Here's the tutorial.

For my brooch, first I chose a beautiful Satin with Grosgrain Edge in Burgundy that is currently available in the Really Reasonable Ribbon shop. I thought it would make an elegant doggie brooch for the holidays paired with a gold fleur de lys button from my stash.

 I cut lengths of this luxurious fiber approximately 1 1/2 in. long, notching one end and then cutting the other end straight.

Then, using a needle and thread, I stitched through my first petal as such.

You could also send it through your sewing machine on its widest setting.  I stitched all the pieces together as shown below.

Then I pulled my thread tight, which gathered the bloom into its final shape, and knotted the circle well to close.

At this stage, you could easily hot glue a button in the center and simultaneously affix to a card or some other project.  As my plan was to make a removable brooch pin, I sewed a piece of felt to the bottom and stitched my button through the top.

Then I pinned it to the sweater I had made.  This way, when it's time to wash the sweater, I can easily remove the pin.

***NOTE*** This pin should be worn only while under human supervision!
