Non-traditional Winter Birthday Card by Cherry Nelson

Hello my fellow ribbon lovers.  Cherry here today! I hope that your holidays were healthy, merry, and spent with those you love.  Today I am sharing a card created with that special someone you might know that has the dreaded winter birthday.  It takes one to know one...mine falls right before Christmas.  I always got some of my birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper; so  I think it is always a little extra special to remember someone that has a birthday around this time of year.  Make them a winter themed birthday card, I promise they will appreciate it.

I used a combination of ribbons and twines from Bonnie's store (make sure to scroll down for full supply list) The image is an old vintage one from a 1960's Christmas card.  I loved the non traditional colors, especially the yellow.  To me it helped to keep this card still in season, but not screaming Christmas.

I created a shaker with my circle dies and filled it with some fun sequins.  From there, a couple of vintage buttons were added with the thread still in them.   I then embossed a birthday sentiment, added some pretty florals and leaves and called it a day!

I love how it turned out ...and I LOVE that I got to use this pretty non traditional plaid.  I could use ginghams and plaids all day long...and some polka dots too and never tire of them.

Hope that you have enjoyed this and please stay healthy and creative (of course!!!)

XOXO,

Cherry

Even the Strongest Blizzards Start with a Single Snowflake Winter Card by Cherry Nelson

Hello my ribbon peeps!  Cherry   here on the RRR blog.  Changing up my holiday cards and I decided to try a little lavender for a sweet winter themed card.

Got my hands dirty with a little white gesso and some antiquing ink to shabby the card up.

I created all the flowers you see using Foamirian, water color papers and artist pigments. I love to add my own stamens from the store and also love to create my own centers for something unique.

Lots of layers, sequins, die cuts, and of course ribbons. Make sure to scroll down to see the supplies I used.

Thanks for coming by and visiting!  Stay healthy and creative!

XOXO, Cherry

Woodland Creature Cards by Cherry Nelson

Hellllllllllo RRR peeps!  Cherry here on the blog today to share a woodland theme holiday greeting with you.  If there are cute animals involved, I am always down for creating with them.  We all could use some cuteness in the world right about now.  I gathered up my supplies and created a more traditional Nordic color scheme with my hedgehog shaker, and the other card is in more masculine forest greens and browns.  I love this sweet owl and the sentiment "tis the season to be J'owly" ...also love me a good pun.

I used lots of fun flowers..some from Really Reasonable Ribbon and some I created using Foamirian and stamens from the store.  I used diecuts in varying size frames to create a shadow effect on both cards.  I love the dimension it adds to my cards.   Well that is it for me.  Please scroll down for a full supply list.

As always thanks for stopping by!  Stay healthy and creative friends.

XOXO, Cherry

Do Small Things with Great Love Fall Card by Cherry Nelson

Hello RRR peeps, Cherry here today on the RRR blog. Have you been getting some crafty time in with everything going on?  I hope so!  It has been so hot lately, over 100 today and it has me thinking of cooler September days.

I love this color combination.

I created this card using the August Monthly Ribbon Club assortment, which I kinda have almost completely used up.  I love it so!  I also used flowers from the store along with some twine for a rustic touch.  I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Bumblebee Upcycled Gift Box and Card

Hello RRR peeps!  Cherry here today to show a fun upcycle project.  I have always had a thing for bumblebees....and I adore yellow so I never tire of the combination of the two.  I had this Bert's Bees soap box that had cute embossed bees on it and decided to create a gift box with it.  Of course I had to create a matching card.

I used this month's RRR Ribbon Club Assortment, which was a perfect combination of ribbon for this project.

I added some pretty paper handmade flowers that I diecut and shaped.  I used stamens from the RRR store.

As always, thanks for visiting!   xoxo, cherry

Choose Joy Card with Handmade Flowers by Cherry Nelson

Hello Ribbon peeps!  Cherry here today to share a card and a new obsession.  Handmade paper and Foamirian flowers.   I have been having a ball creating them.  It is amazing what variations you can come up with just by using different stamens, layers, diecuts, and coloring techniques.  Each flower is always different.  I enjoy mixing them with my Wild Orchid Craft flowers from the store too.  I think they turned out so pretty.  Check out RRR for stamens and berries to use in your flower creating. Scroll down for Really Reasonable Ribbon supplies used.  Happy crafting friends!

Shaker Cards Duo by Cherry Nelson

Hellllllllllllllllo my paper peeps!  Cherry here today to share a couple of shaker cards made with Really Reasonable Ribbon trims, flowers, and stamens.  Bonnie has such a great selection of all those goodies. I have been into pinks and peaches lately.  It is fun to try different color combos, isn't it?  I created these shakers using old Sizzix die frames and then just added some recycled acetate to cover the fronts.  The more foam adhesive you have on back, the deeper your shaker card will be. It creates a reverse shadow box effect and if you know me....I love lots of dimension. That allows the sequins to really be able to move around...which is half the fun.  I am developing quite the collection of different things to add to shaker cards.  Well that is it for me today friends.  Please scroll down for list of RRR supplies.  Stay healthy and safe my friends

Have I told you lately that I love you shabby cards duo by Cherry Nelson

Hello paper peeps! Cherry here on the RRR blog.  I hope all is well and you are safe and sound at home...hopefully getting some craft on?  This little thing called "paper crafts" has saved me from losing it with our current crisis.  How about you?  Since I have had more time to craft I created two cards for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Both with that time worn shabby feel that I love so.  Both cards use Bay leaf seam binding which is my go to for a soft aqua green.

I have been getting into making my own flowers using both water color paper and floral foam. It is so relaxing and a great way to get the colors you want and I kinda dig using different types of stamens.

This card also uses lace from the store.

Here is the second card using the same ribbon....but very different. This card also uses Spiral stamens in green I used gesso to soften the color.  Another product I have been using a lot. Gesso so fun!

Well my friends that is all for me today!  Keep yourself safe!  Craft on!
XOXO, Cherry

Shabby Wish You Were Here Card and Hello Sunshine Card Set...by Cherry Nelson

Hello my fellow ribbon peeps. Cherry here today to share a couple of old fashion cards with you.

I hope you are all home safe and sound.

This soft little number uses Rose Petal Seam Binding.

I love seam binding....I have pushed myself away from it to try other ribbons...but I will always love the soft unobtrusive look it adds to a project.

I added some gorgeous Maggie Holmes goodies from her Heritage collection.  So classy and soft.

I also added some pretty flowers, sequins randomly adhered, and some white Gesso to add a distressed and textural look.

Next up?  This sweet shabby confection.  I told you I was crafting a lot.

It uses Noble Peacock Seam Binding and  Chelsea Roses along with a gorgeous Lotus Flower in pink

I hope you enjoyed my cards here today!  Stay calm and craft on!

XOXO, Cherry
