Vintage Spools With Christmas Ribbons

Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog today, everyone!  Karen Letchworth posting today with some sweet little vintage wooden spools that I decorated with some goodies from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I have far too many of these in my possession, so I thought I'd do something creative with them.  At Really Reasonable Ribbon, there's always a perfect Lace, Seam Binding or Embellishment to help me whip up something special.
As you may know,  the Seam Binding we carry hasn't been altered (as other companies sell it).  It's the straight seam binding off the spool.  That doesn't, however, mean that you are stuck with it that way.  By purchasing your Seam Binding at RRR, you have the option of using it neat and straight or crinkly and grungy.  This way, the choice is yours.  If you want the "grungy" looking Seam Binding, all you need to do is touch the edges of your Seam Binding with a Walnut Ink of some kind.  Then, wet your fingertips and pinch, squeeze and twist it until you've got a dirty, crinkly more grungy look.  That's what I did here, as I wanted that vintage look.
One of the antique wooden spools I used (shown below) already had red sewing thread on it.  I decorated that one with a white bottle brush tree (from Crate Paper) that I adorned with some Olive Burlap String, Ivory Burlap String, one Cluster from a Red Bead Berry Spray, a Bronze Pear Shaped Safety Pin that holds a tiny tag, and is topped with a Red & White Gingham Flatback Fabric Covered Button.  Each spool decoration is sitting on a vintage milk bottle cap.
The other larger spool was bare wood.  So...I wrapped a length of Ivory Crochet Lace around the spool.  I topped that spool with a green bottle brush tree, and bundled a length of each of these:  Olive Burlap StringIvory Burlap String, and Red Burlap String to adorn this spool. This spool also has my "grungy" or "dirtied" Seam Binding, and you'll see that in my photos.

The third spool (below) was kinda short and fat.  I ran some more narrow Ivory Crochet Lace around this spool, and I stuck a bronze paperclip upside down in the hole.  I was thinking...I'll make several of these and use them as name card holders on the Christmas table.  The top of this spool is adorned with a Red Open Rose and a Dark Green Open Rose.
There's no end to the possibilities of all the CUTE things you can make with products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I hope you'll treat yourself to some crafty Christmas presents.  Come on...you deserve some crafty goodness.  Happy shopping!

Blessings,
Karen

Love, Hope & Joy

Hello to all our ribbon loving friends!  It's Karen Letchworth posting today.....and let me assure you that you don't really even have to be a ribbon lover to be a lover of Really Reasonable Ribbon because we carry SO much more than just ribbons.  While we do, admittedly, carry the widest variety of ribbons and trims you can imagine; we also have gorgeous Mulberry FlowersAdhesivesEmbellishments, and...the list goes on and on.
For today's card, I used white cardstock and a piece of October Afternoon patterned paper from my stash.  I die-cut the frame from a piece of white wood grain patterned paper, and in the middle of that I stamped my sentiment which is from Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Holiday Greetings Stamp Set. Next, I added three gorgeous White Lotus Flowers, several (light turquoise) Miniature Mixed Blue Sweetheart BlossomsTwo-Toned Turquoise Open Roses, several White Double Head Stamens and Turquoise Double Head Stamens.  Lots of fabulous Scor-Tape holds everything together securely.
I also tucked in a Green Mulberry Leaf, a White Mulberry Leaf, and some bundled Ivory Burlap String.  At the bottom right of my card, I attached a White Flat Back Pearl.  As I mentioned, there is SO much more than (oodles of) ribbons available at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This card uses no less than 12 of their items, and only one of those is a spooled trim.  So, I really do hope you will stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to look around for some Christmas treats for yourself.  You will LOVE what you see.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  We always appreciate your visits and comments.  Have a wonderfully creative week, and really.....check out Really Reasonable Ribbon for all your crafting needs.  They have SO much to offer.

As I've mentioned before, I'm smitten with the adorable new Embellishments found at Really Reasonable Ribbon including the cute Bronze Pear Shaped Safety Pin I used that's holding a cute little tag stamped with the word Coffee.  These darling Pear Shaped Safety Pins cost just $2.19 for 100 pieces, and they come in various metal finishes.  Aren't they just SO cute?  There are so many great Embellishments at Really Reasonable Ribbon, and you'll be amazed at the wide variety of awesome products you'll find there.  It's worth a look!

Spooktacular Fun

Hello!  It's always a special treat when you stop by to visit. Today it's me, Karen Letchworth, sharing a "spooktacular" little card I created using some of my favorite products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I hope you're all ready for the little goblins who will come knocking at your door next week looking for some tricks or treats.
So, for today's post, I'm sharing a fun little Halloween card that was sent off to my niece.  While she's getting (just about) past the trick-or-treating age, she's still a whole lot of fun, and I like to send her special cards.  I'm sure you all have those in your life with whom you have that sort of relationship.  Never underestimate just how much it means to someone to get a hand-made card in the mail.  Just knowing that someone is thinking about you can make all the difference; so I encourage you to send a card today.  Someone needs the pick-me-up for sure!
I started with a base of burnt orange corrugated paper, and I also used some American Crafts (Haunted) patterned papers that I had picked up last year.  I used a small (October) ephemera piece, a Crafty Secrets image, and a Jolee's candy bar (Darkside Chocolate Bar).  Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect Embellishments, Ribbons, and Adhesives (plus SO much more) to help me adorn and decorate my cards.  How cute!
There are some new products to Really Reasonable Ribbon as well, and I'm SUPER excited about them.  One of these fabulous new products would be the ADORABLE Bronze Pear-Shaped Metal Safety Pins.  They do come in different colors/metals, but I'm obsessed with these.  They're perfect for hanging a small tag or a metal charm, beads, etc..  SO cute!  And...they are only $2.19 for 100 pieces!!!  I used mine to hang a small tag cut from patterned paper, and I stamped the word "Enjoy" on it.
I also bundled some Violet Burlap String, tucked in some Black Miniature Double Head StamensMilk White Miniature Double Head Stamens, and added a double bow tied with Black/White Houndstooth Ribbon.  Like I mentioned earlier, Really Reasonable Ribbon really does have SO many fabulous touches for your crafting projects.  Ribbons, twines, trims, Seam Binding....you name it, Really Reasonable Ribbon definitely has all the spooled delights any crafter could ever need.  But I do hope you'll also check out the amazing rainbow of other accents they carry to help you take your art to the next level.  You won't be disappointed.  Really!  Check out those awesome new Bronze Pear-Shaped Metal Safety Pins.  They'll look so cute on your next project!

Thanks for stopping by,
Karen

Warm Autumn Wishes

Today I'm posting for Really Reasonable Ribbon, and I'm so glad you've stopped by to take a peek.  I always enjoy making cards; but I often feel like my cards aren't quite finished until I add just a bit of ribbon/trim, or some sweet little flowers. You know....those extra little touches that make our card Oh, SO sweet.  Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect touches for just about any and every craft project you can possibly imagine.  Here's how Really Reasonable Ribbon helped step up my card today.
This card was creating using some sweet Autumn patterned papers and a journalling card from Echo Park that I attached with strips of a fabulous Adhesive called Scor-Tape.  Once all my patterned papers were in place and all the edges were inked, I stamped my sentiment (Autumn) onto the journalling card.  I also stamped the different pumpkins, pumpkin parts, pumpkin stems and swirls.  All the stamps I used on this card are from a retired set called Pumpkin Patch from Papertrey Ink.  I love it, and I use it every year around this time; so you may recognize it.

Once I had everything where I wanted it, I attached all the pumpkins using several more cut pieces of the Scor-Tape.  I love that stuff!  On the left of my card, you'll the the small piece of Orange Gingham Ribbon With Black Stripe that I used to make a bow.  I topped that with some bundled Orange Burlap String and Olive Burlap String.  I tucked in a Black Double Head Stamen and two Red Double Head Stamens, and topped it all with a pretty little Two-Tone Orange Sweetheart Blossom.

I do hope you'll take a few minutes to visit the Really Reasonable Ribbon Shop just to look around.  You never know what might catch your eye.  I have SO many favorites.  Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget about the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop coming up on the 13th of this and every month.  I hope to see you again then, if not sooner. Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,

Trust In The Lord

Hello, and welcome by again.  Thanks for stopping by today as I share a card I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I will never grow tired of working with all the fabulous products found at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Of course, they have ribbons and trims....but they also have SO much more.  This card will give you an idea of what I'm talking about.  I used some fun Echo Park patterned papers from an awesome line called I Love Family that I picked up at Tuesday Morning (great bargains).  As I often like to do, I created my card using primarily paper scraps.  I used several leftover strips of these patterned papers, I inked the edges, and attached them using pieces of a fabulous Adhesive called Scor-Tape.  I stamped the sentiment using Words of Encouragement Stamp Set from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.  I absolutely LOVE what the sweet Really Reasonable Ribbon products do for all my cards and projects.

I bundled some Natural Burlap StringPeach Burlap String and Olive Burlap String; and I also added some Turquoise Double Head StamensYellow Double Head StamensRed Miniature Double Head Stamens.  I topped all that with a 30mm White Mulberry Leaf, a couple Autumn Gold Open Roses, and a couple Two-Tone Light Turquoise Open Roses.  There are SO MANY gorgeous products to choose from at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
At the top right of my card (up near the stamped sentiment), I added a small snippet of Brown Center-Stitch Canvas Ribbon and a miniature rusty paperclip.  There are SO many fabulous trims, AdhesivesEmbellishmentsFlowers, and much more at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I hope you've been inspired, and that you'll take time to do some shopping today to treat yourself.  You won't be disappointed!

Cherish Family

What a treat to have you stop by today!  It's Karen sharing today, and I'm so glad you're here because today I'm sharing a warm and welcoming Autumn card and two matching mini albums that I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I apologize that this will be a very long post because I took a photo of every page in the mini albums.  Sorry!

For my card, I started with some sweet patterned papers, stickers and chipboard from an Echo Park line called I Love Family.  I used white Bazzill Basics for my card base, and then I layered a couple of the patterned papers.  I ran a length of the 1/2" Burgundy Wrinkle Ribbon just off the center left on my card.  I used the 1/2" Burgundy Wrinkle Ribbon1/2" Olive Wrinkle Ribbon and a piece of Cream Seam Binding to make my bow.
I also added some White Double Head  Mini Stamens, Red Double Head Mini Stamens, Blue Double Head Mini StamensMatcha Green Double Head Mini Stamens, and I topped that with a 15 mm Green Mulberry Leaf20mm Brown Mulberry Leaf, an Orange Open End Rose, a Burgundy Open End Rose and a Light Mocha Open End Rose.  I just LOVE how all the sweet Mulberry Flowers elevate our cards and projects, and give them such amazing texture and life.

Next, I made two coordinating mini albums from the same Echo Park line.  I used a large glassine bag for each mini album.  You can incorporate multiple glassine bags for this project, but today's minis use just one bag each.  I decorated the pages with the patterned papers, stickers and chipboard as well as some other ephemera (journalling spots, tickets, etc.) and some photo spots so that someone can simply pop a few family photos in there...and you have a cute little family memory album.

The pockets provided by the glassine bag gave me one more place to tuck in a photo/journal mat into each album.  I didn't embellish them much.   and secured lengths of Olive Wrinkle Ribbon to the front and back so that I have a tie enclosure for the album for when it's being stored.  The page below shows the left side of the open album.  There's a bit of Ivory Burlap String at the bottom of this page, and it's topped with a sticker.
Page 2, or the right-hand side of the open mini album, gives you a peek at the pocket (to the right) which contains an additional photo/journal mat.  There's lots of extra space for attaching photos, journalling spots and memories.  These make such great little gifts during the holidays, or any time.

On my second glassine bag mini album (pictured below), I added a few Sweethearts Blossoms to the front cover along with a 30mm Green Mulberry Leaf.  And similar to the first album, this one is tied shut with lengths of the pretty 1/2" Ivory Wrinkled Ribbon on each side.

How fun are these little albums?  If you need help finding glassine bags, please let me know.  You can use a simple brown paper lunch bag, or any kind of bag.  I just like the soft, pretty feel of these super sweet, thin little bags.  A few miniature rusty paper clips, woodgrain washi tape, some chipboard, a few journalling spots here and there.....fun!
This is a peek at the left-hand side of the open album.  There aren't any additional Really Reasonable Ribbon products inside this mini album because I wanted to keep them fairly flat.  Lots of paper, lots of places for tucking in precious memories.
The next photo (below) is the right-hand side of the open album, a.k.a. Page 3.  This is also very simple, and gives a peek at the journalling card that goes in the pocket.  It's sticking out just enough for you to get a peek at it.
And finally...the last photo I'm sharing is the back cover of the album.  You can always see that pretty 1/2" Ivory Wrinkled Ribbon showing.  It's GORGEOUS, just like all of the ribbons and trims at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Thanks again for stopping by today.  I hope you'll remember to join us on the 13th of this, and every month, for our fun BLOG HOP.  We always love to have you join the fun for your chance to win the Ribbon Club Assortment for the month...not to mention a lot of wonderful inspiration as well.  There's always something happening at Really Reasonable Ribbon, so be sure to stop by often.

Life Is An Adventure

Welcome by the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog today, friends.  Thanks for visiting as I (Karen) share a fun card I created using just a few of my RRR favorites!  I started with some fun patterned papers and chipboard (camper) that I picked up at my local Tuesday Morning....always great bargains there!  The sentiment (Life Is An Adventure) is from Paper Sweeties.  Everything else can be found at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I ran a length of the lovely Fuchsia Wrinkled Ribbon down the center of my card.  I bundled some Ivory Burlap String and Navy Burlap String and layered that with some peach magnolias from the Magnolias Mixed Pastels and several navy sweetheart blossoms (from the Miniature Sweetheart Blossoms Mixed Blues), peach sweetheart blossoms (from the Mixed Peach/Orange), and some Miniature Ivory Sweetheart Blossoms.
There are so many gorgeous Mulberry Flowers at Really Reasonable Ribbon, and as you can see on this card; they accent our stamped images so nicely.  I almost framed the journalling spot with my cascading flowers on this card,  I could have gone completely crazy and put them everywhere...like a garden.  But I tried to use some restraint....LOL.  You're always sure to find the perfect ribbons, trims and embellishments at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Something Extra Sweet

Hello, sweet friends!  Welcome by my blog today, and thanks for visiting me as I share a fun project that I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon using several of their amazing products.  I used an old kraft Coffee Bag that I'd forgotten all about. So, I pulled it out and decided to fill it with some yummy bubble gum flavored Jelly Belly jelly beans as a cute gift.  No cuter way to decorate than with all the amazing products found at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I ran a width of Ivory Natural Crochet Lace across the top of the bag, and stamped a miniature tag with the word LOVE.  I attached that tag with a dab of hot glue along with a length of Gold Metallic String, a White Mulberry Leave, and some Mixed Pink Miniature Sweetheart Blossoms.  There are so many beautiful Mulberry FlowersEmbellishmentsTwines, Trims and.....well, you'll just have to see for yourself - there's SO much to see at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Down at the middle left of the bag (right by the window showing those yummy jelly beans) I added some more "fluff" to my project by adding a gold puffy heart and pink leather tassel (both are Crate Paper products), and then layering some bundled Ivory Burlap StringGold Metallic String, and Cotton Candy Baker's Twine.  Then, I also tucked in some Milk White Miniature Stamens, and some Pink Miniature Double Head Stamens.  SO sweet!

Happy Indepence Day to our BEAUTIFUL country (in just a few days).  What better way to celebrate than with RIBBONS and patriotic accents from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used a nostalgique/vintage piece of ephemera as my focal point for this card.  It's attached to a piece of patterned paper with strips of Scor-Tape; and I also used the Scor-Tape to attach the navy blue doily die-cut that I slipped underneath the focal image.
I bundled some Ivory Burlap String with some Red Miniature StamensNavy Miniature Stamens and Ivory Miniature Stamens and placed that on the doily area.  Next, I tied bow with lengths of 1/2" Navy Winkle Ribbon and 1/2" Red Wrinkle Ribbon and attached those side-by-side atop the bundled items.  The next items I added were some Red Open RosesRoyal Blue Open RosesIvory Open Roses, as well as one White Bead Berry Cluster.
