Hurricane Sandy will be visiting RRR

Greetings everyone.  Well, it appears that Really Reasonable Ribbon is in the direct path of Hurricane Sandy (aka Frankenstorm) which will be making an unwelcome visit really soon.  We have been told to expect possible power outages beginning Monday 10/29 for up to 14 days.  We are located in an area that is not prone to flooding, so power outages are likely to be our biggest concern.
 
Yup, we are located in the red zone - about an hour and a half north of
New York City.
 
We have made every effort to prepare so there will be no interruption in our daily order processing.  We have a generator on stand-by and two possibilities for internet access.  That being said, if our local internet supplier and our cellular service is down at the same time, we may have intermittent difficulties with our internet access. 
 
We will make every effort to continue shipping incoming orders the same or next day, but we appreciate your understanding if we do have problems over the next 10-14 days.  You will still be able to place orders throughout this time, but there may be a possible delay in shipment of orders and in our response to email questions.  I will keep you posted via this blog when the storm has passed though.

    Bonnie, I wish you all the best of luck. I live in Miami so hurricanes are a fact of life for me. We got a few showers and wind from Sandy, but nothing like what you will get up there. Make sure that you gas up your cars, have candles, have cash cause the ATMs may not work. Make sure that you have water and food for several days and board up your windows if you dont have hurricane shutters. Better safe than sorry. I'll keep you all in my prayers.

    Do stay safe and make sure your emergency supply is set up and ready; drinking water, flash lights, etc.

    just a little p.s. per Marfa's comment {hope not to step on any toes here...} best to have flashlights instead of candles. In case of fire, the fire department may not be able to reach you.

    Wow, take care Bonnie! All I have to worry about up here in Manitoba is the 5 inches of snow we've had the last few days! Keep safe.

    Stay safe! My mom and step-dad are in that red zone in PA as well. Their summer home in Chincoteague, VA is also in the red zone. I tried to convince my mom to get a generator, but she hadn't made a decision yet. Told her if she didn't make a decision soon, there wouldn't be one available to buy!!! Good luck to everyone on the East Coast.

    Batten down the hatches Bonnie! I'm in NC mountains and the wind is HOWLING!! The temps are DROPPING! We will probably lose power too if this keeps up and we are on the outskirts of the orange area! Yikes! I hope everyone stay safe and secure, will keep you in my thoughts keep us posted if you can! waving hi from the very windy hills of North Carolina :)
