Mad About You Valentine Shaker Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  This Mad Hatter Shaker Valentine is a fun way to let someone know, "Hey, I'm Mad About You!" this Valentine's Day!

Did you notice how the Mad Hatter's black checked trousers are echoed by the 3/8" Black Houndstooth Bow Cluster?  Any time you can repeat a pattern in a card design, you're going to have a win on your hands.

Top that bow with a little Black Baker's Twine to add even more fulness and texture.  I also wrapped it around the stem of the pocket watch shaker element.  Little touches like this add such wonderful detail when you are making a card.

Black Baker's Twine makes it easy to attach this cluster of metal embellishments, too.  Simply loop folded twine through the brad openings on the door plate, then wrap the loose ends back behind the card front.  Then you can also add a key and teacup at the top with a little bow and flower to really dress things up.

Using black ribbon is a great way to "ground" a mix of colors like the ones in this card.  It sort of ties them all together and makes them sing in harmony.  And that, my friends, is always a good thing!

Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!

Cheerio,

kathy

Just $17 for both if you are located in the USA.

I set out with the mindset that I wanted this card to be FLAT for mailing, which is not my typical goal.  I'm more of a thick and dimensional card maker.  But as you can see, you CAN create a flat card and still incorporate lots of pretty ribbons and trims.

For a video tutorial on how I use mulberry paper, please click HERE.

I ran a strip of Blue Topaz Taffeta Ribbon down through the middle of the card under the sentiment and I added some Plum Baker's Twine over it to give it a little texture and depth.  I also folded two pieces of the Purple Plaid Ribbon from the February Ribbon Club Assortment and added them to the sentiment panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  For more information on the other products used on my card, please visit my Make Time to Craft Blog.  Have a crafty weekend!

Happy Easter Bunny with a Carrot Car Card

Hello everyone and Happy Monday to you all! Today I have a super sweet Easter card made for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the beautiful flowers, ribbon, and embellishments. I LOVE making Easter Cards as they are so cute and fun to create.  I hope you enjoy my post for today.

On my card I had to go through all my design papers to find some that I thought would go perfect with this little bunny carrot car, heheeh.  I did three layers and then added the main panel using die cuts and then layered with the bunny carrot car die. I then added lots of Really Reasonable Ribbon flowers and the pink bead berry sprays. I also added some sewing and finished the inside of the card as well.

CottageCutz Bunny Carrot Car was colored using Copics, and the Happy Easter stamp is StampinUp!  I also used the punches for the circle and scallop. The swirl floral in green was done using a Cheery Lynn die, and I then added some flat backed pink pearls.

LOVE YOU

Welcome back to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  It's your crafty friend, Karen Letchworth, posting here today with a super sweet Valentine's Day card I created; and it features several of my favorite products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I have LOTS of favorites because they care LOTS of great products.  If you're not familiar yet with this FABUOUS shop, I do hope you'll stop by to check out all the AMAZING ribbon and trims as well as loads of other great and useful crafting supplies such as as Adhesives. Embellishments, Mulberry Flowers and SO much more.
This card was fun to make.  I started with a white cardstock base, and layered that with a fun patterned paper.  The top layer is another piece of the white watercolor cardstock that I stencilled with a fun heart  patterned stencil and some pink and red inks.  Next, I used a Papertrey Ink die-cut and some red (and pink) wool felt and ivory polka dot tulle to cut some fun stitching hearts.  I stitched the hearts using Solid Ivory Baker's Twine and filled the hearts with sequins.  You can see the sequins through the tulle.  The Baker's Twine comes in many lovely colors, and works well with stitching dies.
The sentiment is from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps and was stamped onto a little journalling square in black ink.  I topped that with some more of the Solid Ivory Baker's Twine, some Sweetheart Blossoms and Miniature Sweetheart Blossoms, small snippets of both Red and White Plaid Houndstooth Ribbon and Light Pink Ginagsome lovely Double Head Stamens.  They are SO pretty, and they add so much texture and personality to our cards and projects.  They're just $2.19 for a bundle of 400 - what a bargain!!!  They come in many colors and are just a wonderful accent.  Also, the Baker's Twine is a fantastic product.  It also comes in 50+ vibrant colors and costs just $1 for ten yards.  At that rate, you can buy several gorgeous colors of Baker's Twine.
The only other things I can think of are some machine stitching with pink thread, a stick pin, and the inked background.  There are LOTS of great products at Really Reasonable Ribbon to help you create something lovely.  I also used several strips of Scor-Tape to attach my papers together.  There are lots of great AdhesivesHair Accessory Supplies and more found at Really Reasonable Ribbon in addition to the OODLES of gorgeous ribbons and trims.  You can also visit the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog often for lots of great inspiration from our Design Team as well as information about special sales and promotions.  We enjoy having you stop by, and we really hope that you'll visit again soon.

Blessings,
Karen

P.S.  When you think of RIBBONS and PRETTY THINGS......think of Really Reasonable Ribbon.
