To do this is really easy and all you need to do is go to Customize > Settings > Comments > then scroll down to where it says comment moderation and select always (this won't stop anybody leaving you a comment but they won't show on your blog until you approve them). Then scroll down to show word verification for comments? and select No.
We love to visit your blogs and leave comments on all the terrific entries, but the word verification really slows us down. :o)

Give Me the Simple Life

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  It's Kathy here with a sweetly vintage card featuring the May Ribbon Club Collection.  Have you seen these fabby ribbons yet?  This  red, white and blue color palette is one of my favorites.  It's perfect for Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July and other patriotic projects.  I super love them!
So many pretty ribbons to choose from! This collection is also great for vintage cards and layouts..  Take a peeky at how I used them in this darling card made with Authentique's "Homestead" paper collection.
See what I mean?  They look amazing with these vintage papers! I created a belly band with paper from the collection, and then added beautiful Electric Blue Double Faced Satin Ribbon above and below it. This was topped with festive Random Patriotic Stars on White Grosgrain Ribbon.  To give it a little more of a vintage vibe, I lightly tapped the ribbon with Tea Dye Distress Ink before layering it on with 1/4" Scor-Tape.  I really love the way that Scor-Tape holds ribbon and keeps the ends from fraying!
The top of my  banner flag is festooned with gorgeous 3/8" American Flag Print Satin Ribbon.  I love the way this draws the eye to the stitching detail on this denim-backed banner flag.  The red burlap panel adds wonderful texture and plays along with the vintage Americana vibe of the card.
I painted a bottle cap with Picket Fence Crackle Paint, then added a circle punched rooster to the center.  A little straw and some speckled brown eggs were added just for fun.  This cute embellishment is layered on top of a die cut star, and with the smaller star in the upper right corner, it serves to "frame" the focal image.
Now let's talk bows!  This double layer beauty was created with 5/8" Red Plaid Ribbon and more of that glorious American Flag Print Satin. My vintage button is threaded with ivory burlap string.  I don't know how I ever managed to tie a bow without the help of my trusty Zutter Bow-it-All Tool! (Enabler alert: Bonnie has the 2.0 version on SALE in the shop...and is now taking Pre-orders for the all new 3.0 version.  And, it's almost Mother's Day.  Just sayin'!)
Lately, I've been on a kick where I'm going wild finishing the inside of my cards.  It's so much fun, and it turns a simple card into a real gift.  On this card, I added a pretty border of the American Flag Print Ribbon along with layered papers and images from the collection.  The right hand side has a slash pocket that I filled with a pretty tag that can be used for  home decor.
The tag is embellished with a sticker from the collection and then you know I had to get into my embellishment box and search for something fun to add.  The little wooden washboard was inked with Vintage Photo DI and then draped with a scrap of Red Plaid Ribbon. It's so cute that it made me clap my hands for joy!  Then I added a little apple button, a vintage clip and  more ribbon and burlap string to the top of the tag to finish it off.  I think this card could be used for a kitchen shower or a birthday present and it would make a fantastic housewarming gift!

The versatility of these ribbons is so exciting: nautical themes, sports themes, kitschy kitchen, vintage and of course, patriotic projects as well.  What would YOU make?  I'd love to hear in the comment section below!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Greatest Strength is Gentleness

Hi friends.  I have a card today combining some of my favorite ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon, beautiful dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and a wonderful sentiment from Quietfire Design.
I've always love a red and black color combination.  It's such a bold 'look at me' color combination.  I'm also in love with the Houndstooth Plaid Ribbon that is available in both red and black and that ribbon was perfect for my bow for this project.
This has somewhat become my signature bow.  I use it a lot because it's my very favorite bow.  The bow was made from red and black 5/8" Houndstooth Plaid Ribbon using my Bow-it-All Tool.

For a video tutorial on how to make this beautiful bi-color double-loop bow, please click HERE.
Don't forget - there is a fabby NEW Bow-it-All V3.0 available now.  If you've been holding out, now is the time to purchase this tool.  So many bow making options - I use it all the time.

If you missed the Bow-it-All V3.0 video into, you can view it HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  For more information on the other products used on my card, please visit my Make Time to Craft Blog.

Shadow Box 8" x 8" Layout

Hello everyone! Cheryl here & I am super excited (Doing the Happy Dance)to be part of the Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team again! I LOVE working with Bonnie &  all the DT gals, as we all always have so much fun.  She carries the most BEAUTIFUL assortments of ribbon! I LOVE being able to design with all the different types of Ribbon/lace/trims/& flowers at the RRR Store! Thank you Bonnie for having me once again!!! Big Hugs to you!!!
Okay, so for my post today, I have created a Shadow Box 8" x 8" Layout to share :) Hope you enjoy my post for today! :)

I decided for my first post I would create an 8 x 8 layout for this shadow box I picked up. I went with all purples and some cream, as this photo is a dear one I will treasure always. It 's a photo of my Grandma and I.  I miss her dearly!!!  I will always remember the day we had this photo taken one week prior to me going into labor with my 1st daughter. I remember my Grandma saying, "let grandma buy you  robe for the hospital" hehehe I was soooo TIRED, that I said "Grandma can we wait please" as I just wanted to go home and sleep....hehehee

I  absolutely LOVE the assortment of Delicate Stitched Satin Purple Ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store! I chose to use two of  the colors from this assortment pack on my layout for today! The colors I chose are the 2nd & 3rd color.

Delicate Stitched Satin Purple Assortment
I made a big bow with 2 colors (the lighter 2 next to the white)for the bow on bottom left hand corner. I then made a smaller bow for the 1990 tag, it's glued underneath the oval tag. These Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbons make such beautiful and easy bows! LOVE them!!! And LOVE that there are sooo many colors to choose from, you can see them all HERE!
Layout Measures 8" x 8"
Layers-I used Bling Card Stock for this. And then some crate paper design paper, and another one, the stripes, was from my stash. My 1st layer is an 8 x 8 cream. I then cut a purple bling card stock at 7 3/4" x 7 3/4", then the dp  piece is cut at 7 1/2" x 7 1/2". Then add sewing. Next layer is 6 3/4" x 6 1/2". that is cream card stock, then the purple is cut at 6 1/2" x 6 1/4", then the stripe is cut at 6 1/4" x 6", then add sewing to that panel. Next is the Photo layers 6 1/4 x 4 1/2"  that is the bottom layer,I then layered the next on cutting it 6" x 4 1/4", and the Photo is 5 3/4" x 4".

Ribbons- Really Reasonable Ribbon Stitched Satin is used for the banners, and for the bows. I just took the 2 lighter colors and started making my loops for my bow. LOVE how easy this works up!
Banners- I used thickers to make my banner that says "NANI & I" then used Really Reasonable Ribbons Arianna Lace. I cut it down the center and used both sides for around the banner pieces. Super easy, just use hot glue :)
Flowers- My flowers I made, and I do have a video showing how here , and then I added some of Really Reasonable Ribbons Beautiful Aster Daisy Stem Flowers in 2-tone baby pink, however I did airbrush them to color them to match the PURPLE, I used copic BV00. I added some glass white leaves, and then some punched out branches in purples.
Feathers- My Purple feathers are VINTAGE and I have tons in my stash, love using these with ribbons and such.
Embellishments- I used different buttons, pearls, French Generals Jolee's boutique pieces I gold. I also used the brad with a purple flower in the center(found left bottom corner of layout). Sewing completes my layout for today

I would LOVE to create more of these shadow boxes for a hallway in my home. So I will be sharing some larger layouts, in the black ones I picked up, they are 12 x 12 size, so cant wait to share those!

I hope you enjoyed my post today, as I truly enjoyed creating this one to share!
Have a wonderful day to all!!
hugs,
Cheryl
