Pockets and Pinwheels with Patriotic Ribbon

Really Reasonable Ribbon Patriotic Plaid Carta Bella God Bless America Kathy Clement

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Believe it or not, Summer is right around the corner!  Here in the US, that means it is time to break out our patriotic ribbons and get ready for Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Independence Day holidays.  So I've whipped up a fun little "inside out" pocket on the front card. Then I dressed it up with a bunch of patriotic ribbons from the RRR shop. I don't know about you, but I love working with good old red, white and blue!

The star of the show is my favorite Patriotic Plaid Ribbon.  I've used it to make bows, fishtail banners and as a border on the box pocket.

If you haven't checked out the Patriotic Ribbon in the shop lately, let me entice you with a few of them here.  I wrapped the pinwheel straw with beautiful Flag Grosgrain Ribbon.  This handsome ribbon also works beautifully as a border on a card or album cover.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Patriotic Ribbon Tag

Dress up the top of a little tag with ribbon streamers made from Patriotic Plaid, 3/8" Checkerboard Poppy Satin, and Tiny Stars Grograin ribbons.  (The blue is out of stock, but you could use the red, then use Blue Diamond Satin Ribbon in place of the Poppy Red.)

Grosgrain Ribbon makes a really cute border on the bottom of the tag, too.  I cut a fishtail end on one side to balance out the rosette on the right.

Here's a peek inside the card.  I added a little flap and pocket feature.

There is room beneath the flap to add a photo with a little journaling on the left.  And you could tuck a little ice cream gift card inside the folded journal card just for fun!

I hope I've shared some tips and tricks that you can use when you get ready to create your red, white and blue projects.  Don't forget to check out the May Ribbon Club Nautical Americana ribbons, too!  They are perfect for summer holiday and vacation projects.

Deep Purple Midnight Masquerade Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  How do you feel about purple?  It's not a color that I have used a lot in the past, but I've been using it lately because Graphic 45's new Midnight Masquerade collection plays so well with purple.  Take a look at the vibrant colors used in this card.

This bow tied with 7/8" Purple Organza Ribbon and Gold Metallic String makes me fall in love with deep purple.  How about you?

I don't know if you can pick it up in these photos, but I tapped the ribbon with tiny bits of Stardust Stickles after tying the bow.  This left a little sparkle behind and I love the way it looks.

Here's a peek at the pair of pockets on the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Purple rules!

The Country Holiday Collection goes Shabby Chic!

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Kathy here with the Country Ribbon Club Assortment.  I flipped country on its ear and came up with a beautiful shabby chic birthday card.

See?  Country Holiday, meet Shabby Chic! Luxurious Rosewood Satin Swirls creates a border at the base of the card.

I created the base of my bow cluster with Brown Diamond Stitch Satin Ribbon.  Then I used my Zutter Bow it All Tool to tie a triple loop bow with  Gold & Copper Diamond Print Grosgrain Ribbon.  A pretty pink anemone and butterfly finish things off nicely.

There are two pockets inside.  One has a ribbon topped bookmark and chocolate, while the other contains a magnet, tea bag and honey stick.  It's like a birthday party in a card!

I can't wait to play more with this pretty ribbon assortment!

Organza Bow for a Sweet Baby Girl Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  It's Kathy here with a little ribbon inspiration for you today.  I had a hankering to take a break from fall/Halloween projects and make a sweet little baby girl card with my G45 Precious Memories papers.  Why?  Who knows?  The idea just popped into my head, and who am I to argue with the muse?  I'm glad I listened, because this card was really fun to make.

I wanted to keep everything about this card soft and sweet and light and airy...even the ribbon and trim.

So I opted for this gorgeous double layer bow tied with 7/8" White Organza topped with Ivory Burlap String.  It makes me think of angel wings.

To add a little more soft texture, I ran a row of Debra Natural Crochet Lace above and below the belly band, as well as along the border at the bottom of the card.

I also dressed up my little safety pin embellishment by tying it with a bit of the same crochet lace trim.

Inside, there's a little gift card pocket.

And a large pocket with a tag that I topped with more Ivory burlap string.

If you haven't worked with organza in a while, you might want to add some to your stash.  It ties beautiful bows, especially when you use  the Zutter Bow-it-All Tool.

Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?
