Dreams

Cherry here today! Happy Super Bowl Sunday.  I will be quick here..don't want to distract anyone from the guacamole dip.  I have two feel good cards to share.
Both cards have  to do with following your path.  Been thinking a lot about that in the new year.  I hope to direct myself more deliberately towards my dreams.   Allowing myself more time to walk that path.   How about you?
Love the bright happy colors in these cards.  I used this wonderful orange and white stripe ribbon   that I have just fallen in love with.  I usually don't gravitate towards orange.  Loving it right now.

Well folks that is it for me!  Hugs, Cherry

Merry Christmas Penguin

Hi everyone! Joanna Bandelin here, I'm so excited to be joining the new RRR Design Team! Today is my very first post and I hope you enjoy my holiday card. My style is always bright and colorful and of course having a love of ribbon and twine always helps! :)
For my card I used some awesome Red/White/Green Diagonal Stripe Grosgrsin ribbon and paired it with a bit of  Christmas Baker's Twine ((I LOVE the 3 color combo of the baker's twine!)).
I gave my sweet penguin a mini twine pop. They are super easy peasy to make, just dab a bit of hot glue to some scrap paper,  add the twine and wrap in a circle. I used half of a toothpick as the stick..and done!
I hope this gets you in the mood for some holiday crafting! :)
Have a great day!

Rik Rak Rosette

Hiya Ramblers. Hope everyone is nice and toasty and indoors today. We are having a little break from the cold weather and it is gorgeous. Almost didn't want to stay inside and craft yesterday, but that's just crazy talk, right? Ha, ha. Anyhoo, I have a fun little tutorial for ya today. We're making a Rik Rak Rosette.

Make A Wish Card

Here we go. First, gather your supplies: ribbon, coordinating rik rak, needle, thread, scissors, and adhesive. In my photo, you see my scrapbook adhesive, but I actually used a glue gun for parts of the flower.

Cut a strip of ribbon about 18" long. I used 1.5" Wired Woven Check in Pink. Stitch a running stitch along one side of the ribbon. I like to use really wide stitches so that the flower will have wide ruffles.

When you have stitched to the end, scrunch the ribbon up along string and stitch the two ends together.

Create a second ribbon loop with a smaller width ribbon. I used Snow Cone Stripe 7/8" Grosgrain. Such a nice color combination, don't ya think? On this second one, though, I didn't pull it as tight, so there would be a bit of an opening in the center.

Glue the smaller ribbon loope on top of the larger one. For this step, I used my Imaginisce I-Bond, their new cordless glue gun. LOVE it! If you don't have a glue gun, you could use fabric glue or even glue dots.

Ok, now here's my favorite part. You need a piece of 3/8" rik rak in a coordinating color to create your center. I used Light Blue Turquoise. Place a bit of glue on the end and then start rolling. Add dabs of glue every couple of rolls or so to keep it tight. When it gets to be the size you like, trim it and glue down the end.

Glue your little rik rak rosette to the center of your layered ribbon loops. Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE that little center.

Well, I hope you are inspired to buy up all of Bonnie's rik rak and create yourself some little rosettes. I can see myself using these in lots more projects!

Have a great day! Aphra

Live, Laugh, Love

Hi there everyone,

The East Coast if floating away again! It's been raining here again and the water is rising. That's why I decided that this brightly colored card from Debbie Littlejohn was the perfect card for today. She used one of my favorite new stripes called
snowcone stripe. It is available in 7/8" and 1.5" widths. Although I was thinking about the bow makers when I ordered this, it works just great on cards too, doesn't it.

Patterned Paper: American Crafts

Edge Punch: Stampin'UP!

Stamp: Unknown

Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon

As I sit here watching it rain (and rain and rain!!) I can't help dreaming of the sunny days ahead. What kind of weather are you experiencing in your neck of the woods??

Flowers in Line and Funky Vert Ribbons

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to introduce Flowers in Line ribbon. This ribbon is 3/4” wide and comes in a variety of colors. I used the Bright Pink and added yellow rhinestones into the center of each flower. It makes such a pretty embellishment. Next, I made a bow with the new Funky Vert Stripe grosgrain ribbon. This ribbon comes in 3/8” wide and also comes in a variety of color combinations. I used the Yellow/Pink/Green combination. Be sure to check out Really Reasonable Ribbon store for either of these ribbons and many new additions. You’ll surely fall in love with them.

Just For You

I created my first Spring card. Unfortunately, I had to scan the card. Tried taking a picture so you could see how the card springs up, but the camera did not want to corporate and couldn’t get a really good picture.

Rubber Stamp: Just for You from Wags N’ Whiskers Store (Colored with Prisma color pencils and OMS, cut image out and popped up with 3D foam dots).

Card Stock: Yellow, blue, green and prints from Martha Stewart – In Pastels.

Die-Cuts: Nestabilities Ovals/Scallop Ovals.

Embossing: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Punches: Martha Stewart Branch punch and EK Success Leaves punch.

Embellishments: Yellow Liquid Applique’ (center of flowers), yellow rhinestones, 3/4” Flowers in Line Bright Pink ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and 3/8” Funky Vert Stripe Yellow/Pink/Green grosgrain ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Super Woven Headbands using Striped Ribbon

Hi Everyone,

We've had some super cards featured already this month, but there is so much more you can do with ribbon. I've been working on my bow making skills, but what I really LOVE to make are these super woven headbands. I've been playing with color combinations, but I found that our new striped grosgrain styles are awesome for this project! It looks like a complex weaving pattern when it's really done with just one ribbon style.

I just LOVE this one!! It's a 1/2" white plastic headband covered with 3/8" berrysickle stripe grosgrain. What a super look!

On this headband, I used a 1" padded plastic headband which gave it a really nice, professional feel. It doesn't really come across in the photo, but the padded headband makes the finished product look very professional! I used 1/2" Pink/Lav/Lt.Blue Multi-stripe grosgrain from May Arts for this one. There are lots of great color combinations available in stripes.
