Butter Cut Out Cookies are My Favorite

Hi, Dawn here today to share a couple fun ideas for packaging some goodies and making it a double gift. Really Reasonable Ribbon  is having a fun week of sharing Holiday ideas and Recipes. Today I am going to share my favorite recipe for Butter Cut out cookies - it has been used by my family for more years then I can count.

This fun sleigh is from Creative Cuts and More and available in many colors.

I chose to decorate with pattern paper from my stash and a few scraps of my favorite ribbons.

I used my Bow Easy Tool

and White Satin with Gold Edges to make that fun bow.

 The Red Satin Double Ruffle Ribbon was used to line the inside of the sleigh

Now You know I had to add some candy to my sleighs- these will be decorations that go on top of the platters of cookies I will be giving away.

 I wanted to share these cute little cube boxes for a few more ideas to package homemade candy or

even that fancy purchased pieces. These will look adorable as an extra gift on top of my platters.

The best thing is I got to use so many extra smaller pieces of ribbon to decorate.

So how about the best, melt in your mouth Butter cookies.

2-1/4 cups flour

1-1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder

1 cup (4 sticks) Real Butter -salted (softened)

1 cup sugar

2 eggs beaten (room temp)

1 teaspoon real vanilla

mix together flour, baking powder and put aside.

Cream together softened butter,sugar,beaten eggs, and vanilla. Once nice and fluffy start adding the flour blend gradually. Once all blend make a large ball and wrap in wax paper and place in refrigerator/freezer for at least an hour or overnight to rest.

When ready to make, grab a hunk of dough and roll out on a floured counter with a floured rolling pin.

Use fun cookie cutter shapes to make cookies.

Bale  in a 350 oven for 8-10 minutes. They can be decorated with your favorite icing.

Today I want to show you an altered notebook that I created.Just look at all of the fun ribbon I used! I simply tied multiple sizes and colors that matched my designer paper to the spirals. Easy-peasy and it really finished it off with a polished but fun look!

Christmas and Valentines

Nothing like getting ahead of the crafting ball right? Today I've got two cards to share with you. The first is a great little Christmas card using some of my absolute FAVORITE holiday ribbon. This card was created using the Nikki Sivils Happy Holly-Days collection and Metallic Band edge Green/Gold . To get the dimension on the snowflakes and flowers, I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.

Next a sweet card using a fun girly ribbon.  This particular dot ribbon is out of stock, but you can get the same look by using the Random Dots Pink/Brown.  I think this one is going to make it into my husbands briefcase come Valentine's Day hehe. Nothing like being ahead of the game.

Oh, Go Fly a Kite!!

Ok, not really, but man, it is beautiful here in Houston, Texas!! The weather is beautiful and perfect to fly a kite!!  Today, I tried to think outside the box again.  I love the trend of the bunched ribbon, so I started thinking wouldn't it be cool to have the same look but with different ribbons?  Below is what I came up with!  Also, I  am always making suns from pattern paper.  Again, thinking outside the box - why couldn't I do the same with ribbon? Well, it worked.  I used ribbon for my sun and ric rac for my rays of sun.  Then, of course, I used baker's twine for my kite string, which is perfect.  All of these fabulous products can be found in the Really Reasonable Ribbon store.

  

Using Ribbon On Your Stamped Images!

Happy Tuesday stamping buddies!. I really love this card. I wanted to do something different with my ribbon so I decided to put actual ribbon on the stamped image. I used my Really Reasonable Ribbon Polka Dot Ribbon. I think it turned out really cute and makes the cupcake pop! I just love the little bow on the cupcake.

There is just something so gorgeous about browns and blues together. They take me to an almost Victorian state of mind, where everything is old yet beautiful. I actually think it is one of my favorite color combinations and when I saw the new Sheer Square print in Brown/Blue, I knew I had to have some. So off I went to get some. Did you know there are some amazing embellishments you can buy now at Really Reasonable Ribbon??? Those vintage brads are calling my name.

Here is the card I created using the Sheer Square print. So soft yet so versatile.

The flower was made by using a daisy die cut from Sizzix. I used 2 sizes in 4 papers. Attached an eyelet in the center, then curled the edges around a pencil. Finally I painted the inside of the bloom with distress stickles. I think I'm calling it a Mum. Mums are such a beautiful flower. Do you have a favorite flower? Let us know.
