Vintage Bits, Bobbles & Beautiful Ribbon

Welcome by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog today, friends! I don't know about you, but sometimes I find myself falling into a creative rut and I forget to think outside the box now and then.  So, I decided that it's time for something different and therefore; today's Really Reasonable Ribbon project is something a bit different and fun.
I used a pink crochet doily for the base, and the little tin cup is just an antique baking trinket.  I made a little "nest" of trims inside the antique tin by layering Ivory Burlap String1/2" Pink Wrinkled Ribbon, lots of gorgeous Miniature Double Head Stamens, and some lovely White Crochet Lace.
Then I attached a vintage wooden spool of pink thread with a wooden rock candy stick through the middle.  I tied some of the 1/2" Pink Wrinkled Ribbon, and White Crochet Lace to the wooden stick, and also attached some Open Roses as a lovely finishing touch.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my project.  There's always lots of great inspiration here on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, so be sure to stop by often.  I hope you've enjoyed my project today, and that the rest of your week is happy, creative and blessed.  I'd love to have you stop by my blog to say hello.

Vintage Tag with Bleached Ribbon and Trim

Hi friends, Linsey here today sharing a cool technique that will change your ribbon and trim in a most unique way! Have you ever tried bleaching your ribbon? It's really easy and fun to see how the bleach will react with your ribbon, creating a one-of-a-kind look! Here's a vintage-style tag I made with bleached ribbon and lace trim that turned out great!
My heritage tag features patterned paper, layered with a piece of Cotton Blend Printed Ribbon, then a photo of my Grandma and Grandpa on their wedding day. A piece of Tobacco Seam Binding was sprayed with bleach to create darker and lighter tones. Some of the bleach puddled a bit to make blotches and a very weathered look. It's just right for vintage, antique and heritage projects alike! A small piece of Ivory Crochet Lace was bleached out, then turquoise ink was sprayed on it. This also created a vintage look and feel that is perfect for my tag.
I hope you'll give it a try sometime! Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me share my tag and ribbon inspiration with you! Until next time, happy crafting!

Little Birdie Loves You All Occaion Greeting Card by Ginny

Hey there Peeps! I'm dropping in this morning to share a sweet greeting card that's perfect for just about any occasion with a simple greeting, gorgeous bird images, altered chipboard and of course ribbon trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
This color combination is really on trend but I'm keeping the vintage vibe going with the large floral background and details like the pearl headed pins.
This bow is created with Chevron Striped Twill in Pink topped off with Ivory Burlap String. I've also added some Magnolia flowers for added depth.
The altered chipboard bird cage is extra girly with the curvy lines and helps to separate the busy patterns.
Okay that's all for me. Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : ) G

Easter Wishes

Hey there ribbon peeps!  My day to share a project made for Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I decided to use this sweet image from Crafty Secrets finally.  Perfect for an Easter card.  I used some neat chipboard pieces and painted them and used them as my base.  Then I layered my card and adhered vintage millenary flowers around the whole image.
I then tied my bow using the purple/white lattice in satin and added a bit of purple seam binding,
I added a flower and a stamped banner and was done.   Thanks for visiting! Cherry

Happy Heart Cards

Mid week folks...Cherry here at the RRR blog.  I decided to play around with some of the gorgeous Cherry Blossom flowers that they have to offer.  I created two cards both using the flowers to shape hearts as my main focal point.
This one is done with yellows using some vintage wall paper that I fell in love with.  Interestingly enough, I found it lining an old drawer of a table I was refinishing and painting.   I used white taffeta ribbon  which paired well with the cherry blossoms.
I nestled vintage buttons among the flowers for some old fashion appeal.
This little guy reminds me of my Dad when he was little....so sweet.
Here is my next card all in pinks.  I also nestled Bead berry spray clusters in gold among my flowers with this next card.
I used both baby pink and rose seam binding on this card and also added Theresa white crochet lace at the bottom of my card.

Well my friends ....I am done!  I hope you enjoy!  Hugs, Cherry

Vintage Love Valentine Tag

Happy Wednesday Paper Peeps!  Hope you are having a lovely start to the New Year : ) It's just been terrible cold here in Michigan so I've hunkered down in the shop to keep warm and to create loads of Valentiny projects.

I'm totally into the black and pink color combination this year along with vintage images and trims from my favorite Ribbon place : )

Pretty flowers and pearly accents just feel so right on vintage projects....and Valentine ones too!

This Rose Petal Seam Binding is so lovely and makes the perfect bow along with some Natural Burlap String.

I don't even know where to begin to tell you how happy this combination of stripes and polka dots makes me. It super girly combined with the florals and having spacers between the layers keeps the patterns from being too busy.
Okay that's all for me. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative  : ) G

Which Way to the North Pole?

Hello RRR folks! Cherry here popping in real quick between baking, shopping, and yes still decorating!   Nothing like the last second.  This card was made here for the RRR blog and uses the red bold check ribbon.  Such a happy ribbon and one of my favorites.
I also used Wild Orchid Cherry blossoms in red and a white rose nestled among my ribbons.
Cute little painted tree along with some ol' buttons and lovely diecuts from Cheery Lynn Designs.

This card has a mini file folder which makes it handy for a gift card enclosure for this season.
Well that is it for me folks....enjoy!  Cherry

Shabby Deer Greeting Card

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a lovely and shabby inspired greeting card I created with beautiful twine and some of the new fabby embellishments from the RRR store!
These little pearly accents are Pearl Daisy Flower Beads and they are so fantastic with a flat back making them really easy to adhere to your projects. In the past I've found vintage buttons that are not usable with a shank on the back that had to be cut off...but these have all the vintage look and they are ready to glue! RRR has loads of new embellies in lots of styles so you should really check 'em out.
And I got to use my new washi tape!!!!
I tattered up all the edges of the paper layers with the distressing tool which adds a nice texture. I've also included spacers between the layers for added depth.
These shabby flowers called for a simple loopy bow of Natural Burlap String.
It's not quite monochromatic....but the color scheme is very soft and dreamy...even the patterned papers are lighter.
Okay that's all for me. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : )

Botanicabella Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Ribbon Lovers!  Have you had a chance to play with the gorgeous new Colors of Autumn Ribbon Assortment yet?  The color range is amazing, and I'm also finding them to be quite versatile.  I pulled out the rusty ribbons in the assortment to make this masculine birthday card with Graphic 45 Botanicabella papers.
A border was created by adding a strip of Rust Diamond Satin Ribbon down the left hand side of the card.  I always use Scor-Tape to add my ribbon, as it really holds it in place.  This was overlaid with a strip of the beautiful Rust Shell Print Satin ribbon.
I love that the shell print mimics fish scales, making it a great choice for this card.
I used my trusty Zutter Bow it All Tool to create this masculine bow cluster.  I layered a scrap of the shell print ribbon beneath a Natural Burlap String bow and a beautiful leather button. I like the way the burlap string picks up on the burlap layer in the card.
I also spritzed and twisted some burlap string that I ran through this cute brass charm.  It's a subtle effect, but adds even more texture and dimension to the composition.
Here's a peeky at the inside of the card.  I used a Spellbinder Tammy Tutterow die to create a teeny tiny envelope, stamped a sentiment and added another strip of that luxurious Rust Shell Print Satin Ribbon across the top.

You all have told me that masculine cards are hard for you to make, so here's a design you can use for inspiration.  You could change up the papers, use the same layout and have a card made in a jiffy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,
kathy
