Joy Card

Christmas cards don't always have to be in the traditional reds and greens.  Why not try adding a non-traditional color such as the purple?  It's easy with the new Really Reasonable Ribbon Monthly Assortment - Country Holiday Collection.

I used the gorgeous purple ribbon, layering two bows.  Then I tucked the Silky Ivory Crush Ribbon to the under the pine cone image to add additional layers and softness.

Another Birthday & More Gorgeous Than Ever

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday to all! Cheryl here today, and I am sharing a card created for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the Beautiful Shimmer Satin Ribbon.  LOVE this ribbon from RRR store, and there are LOTS of shades of this beautiful Satin to choose from.

On my card I chose to use the Shimmer Satin in Light Orchid.  I also used some White 1.5" Silky Crush ribbon, and then the some Bakers Twine.

Flowers are cut with JustRite flower dies, then dusted with dusty concord distress ink. I then used the Glass Flower technique on these.

For the leaves I used Really Reasonable Ribbon's 30mm green leaves, and dusted those with StampinUp! Kiwi Kiss ink.
My sentiment was stamped in the dusty concord distress ink as well, and then I airbrushed around it using copic BV00. The button I used is an OLD wood button.

Dancer

Good morning everyone, it's Tracey here to share a card I designed to feature the gorgeous ribbon and string Bonnie carries in her shop.

This card is for my niece who's turning nine. She's is a tom boy who loves frilly things, so I thought this dancer card would be just perfect.

"Dancer" Birthday Card

Silky Crush Ribbon 1.5" ~ Rose

Seam Binding 1/2" ~ White

Iridescent White Metallic String

Tips and Techniques:

Ribbon Skirt ~ I fussy cut this dancer from the Prima Divine paper and thought the RRR Silky Crush Ribbon would create a sweet skirt. I cut three strips of the Silky Crush ribbon twice the length of her skirt, finger pressed a crease at the half way point of each and machine basted across them one at a time, right next to each other so the three pieces were connected by the basting. I then folded on the stitching line and snipped strips up to about 1/4 inch from the stitching line. The "skirt" was then gathered to the width of the dancer's waist. The weave in this ribbon is tight enough to hold up to this technique without much fraying. 

Braided Belt ~ I cut three lengths of the Metallic White String and braided it to created the belt at her waist. The sparkly belt covered the edge of the skirt to hide the gathering stitches. 

Ribbon Flower ~ I wanted just a tiny flower for her waist, so created this ribbon flower using white seam binding. 

Hand Stitching ~ I drew a line for the butterfly trail, pierced stitching holes, then stitched with Iridescent White String. In this close-up you can see the gorgeous iridescence of the metallic string. I cut a little more than usual to allow for some fraying on the string ends.

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a Pretty in PINK page.  This is the 2nd Page made for a Mini Album I've been working on. On this page I used Really Reasonable Ribbon's Laces, Trims and Ribbon.

On the bottom of the page I used :

I LOVE the colors on this page and I'm having sooo much fun creating this album. For the dp I used Teresa Collins, and then I used the New CottageCutz Vintage Release dies for my page. I added some feathers, bling, and sewing to complete my page. 

In this photo you can see there is room for a photo on the tag, and on the back I stamped a stamp for writing. I forgot to take a photo of it. For the front of the pocket I figured another photo can go there.

Transformation

 

So I have a confession.  Since joining the wonderful design team at Really Reasonable Ribbon, I've become a bit of a ribbon hoarder :-/  I will pull out my RRR stash, admire the beauty, handle some of my favorites, and then carry on a a bit of an inner debate about whether or not to cut into them.   One of these favorites is the Silky Crush Wrinkled Ribbon in Champagne.  The beautiful sheen, ethereal texture, and romantic, old world hue make me swoon, and despite my temptation to keep it all to myself, I've decided to start sharing the beauty and use it not only on cards, but also on handmade keepsake boxes that I plan to give away during the holidays.

For today, I'd like to share with you a card I just made for a loved one going through a difficult challenge, one that will test her in many ways. But despite how difficult this will be for her, I truly believe that these types of experiences are put into our lives for a reason, that they possess the potential to transform us within and help deepen our understanding of what it means to be human.

  

For my focal image, I chose a butterfly - the perfect embodiment of transformation, in my opinion.  Hoping this card and some well chosen words written inside will lift her up and empower her.

As for my supplies, I used DCWV "Be Mine" papers, a Sizzix "Frame, Fancy" die by Karen Burniston, a Martha Stewart Edger punch and Butterfly punch.  All the paper pieces were aged with Tea Dye Distress ink from Tim Holtz.

 

For embellishment, I used my precious Silky Crush Wrinkled Ribbon in Champagne and stick pins from Jenny Bowlin.  I won't tell you how long I tilted and turned this card in the sun, completely smitten with how this fiber catches the light.

Buttons & Bows

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday to all! Today I'm sharing a Candle Jar I decorated with Really Reasonable Ribbon (TONS of BEAUTIFUL Ribbon) 

So I had this candle jar that I used up the candle in and I save all my jars like this for buttons and such. Anyway, this one has been waiting on my sewing station area to be decorated for a while now :) I'm super happy with the way it turned out.

I've used all Really Reasonable Ribbon and they are all sooo beautiful.  I will list and link below

For the top of the jar I used the Silky White Crush ribbon and OMgosh let me tell you this is BEAUTIFUL Ribbon, I LOVE it!!! So easy to work with and beautiful to the eye! On top of that I used the Pink Double Faced Satin in 5/8" .  I also used the Pink Leaves.  I added an Angel charm to the lid.

For around the Jar I used the Double Ruffled White ribbon (LOVE this too) and the Double Faced Satin again.  I made another double bow using the Silky Crush and Satin.  I added a love charm to it!

I wanted to get a lot of different pictures to share the beauty of all the ribbons I used :) I also used some Wild Orchid flowers, wedding stamens and some other wedding things for the bow on the front of the jar.
