Blooming Beautiful Springtime Altered Art

Hello, Friends!  Kathy here with a bit of springtime altered art to inspire your creativity.  I love little decorative boxes.  So I created this lovely little Eileen Hull Treasure box, then decorated it with lots of blooming springtime flowers and elegant  1/2" Champagne Wrinkled Ribbon.

A little box like this one looks so pretty set out on a coffee table or nightstand.  To add the perfect shabby chic touch, why not run a bit of Crochet Lace around the bottom edge?  It's easy to keep in place when you use 1/8" Scor-Tape to attach it.

Here's a look at the beautiful bow cluster.  One of the things I love the most about the Champagne Wrinkled Ribbon is the neutral tone.  Here, it fits in perfectly with all the soft pastel flowers.  It's become one of my all time favorite choices for shabby chic projects.

The only thing I like better than a sweet little box is a sweet little box with something pretty inside.  So I created a tiny Eileen Hull Notebook to slip inside the box.

I've used the same ribbon to create a wrapped closure for this darling little album.

I love the way it looks wrapped around the album spine, too.

I've used it inside the album to decorate a simple page.....

... and to top a little art tag.

If you haven't added this gorgeous ribbon to your stash yet, I can highly recommend it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Winter and Sweater Mini Album

Sharing more pages of my Winter and Sweater mini album using gorgeous ribbons from the Monthly Ribbon Club Assortment.
I added a beautiful bow with the white ribbon from the monthly assortment then tucked under a snowflake charm.  I then added the Flat Back Pearl to the large snowflake.
Next, I added more beautiful lace and ribbons to add softness and dimension.
I hope this inspires you to create and document your winter memories.
Wishing you a wonderful day.

Fill Your Life With Adventures

Life is an adventure...  You never know where your journey will take you.  I created the cover of my newest mini album using some beautiful ribbons and embellishments from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I added bows with one of my new favorite ribbons the Sheer Iridescent Antique Gold Ribbon, then tucked in the Natural Jute String to add more dimension.
Then I tucked in some vintage buttons and the Mulberry Leaves.
I then added some vintage lace and burlap.  I am excited to start creating pages to capture all my life's adventures.
Hoping you have a wonderfully creative day.

Summer Themed Mini Album

Hi friends.  Today I have a summer themed mini album to share that I made using some of each of the different ribbon styles in the June Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon along with some Burlap String for the tops of my tags..

The June Ribbon Club Assortment is a pretty summer themed collection of colors.

Not a member yet?

The June Ribbon Club Assortment contains 9 styles and a total of 18 yards of ribbon.  Each monthly assortment is a color or holiday themed collection of ribbon.  What a fun way to build your ribbon stash and try new ribbon styles.

So, this is my first attempt at a mini album with this type of binding and overall, I'm pretty pleased with the results.  For those of you with mini album experience, I would love if you would hop over to my post on my Make Time to Craft Blog and give me some feedback.  I will be posting some questions over there on places where I had some problems.

You can see on the photo above that I used a variety of ribbons on the book binding for a colorful touch.  I then added a little summer saying near the top of the binding.  As you can see in the photo below, I had added the pages before I decided to add the ribbon to the outer book binding.  Next time I will add the ribbon first and then it will be tucked under where the pages attach to the binding.
Of course I didn't have any design paper in the colors I want.  I have about 300 pounds of design paper, but I never have what I'm looking for - perhaps a slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean!  So, I pulled out my Distress Ink pads and made some paper in the colors I wanted.  I love the look, but I have to caution you that it was a LOT of work, so think hard before you set out on this path with making your own design paper...
Since it was my first album with this type of binding, I tried to go with the easy way on many of the steps.  I did not completely cover my chipboard covers - meaning wrapping the paper around to cover the edges.  I just cut paper the size of the front, back and binding and glued it on.  I inked the sides of the chipboard, but I'm not really liking that too much, so I will do it differently next time.
I was also pretty repetitive on the pages.  All the pages were folded the same way with slightly different edgings.  I also made all the pull-outs and tags the same shape and changed up the colors and the small beach themed embellishments for a little variety.
I used little snippets of all the 3/8" ribbons from the June Ribbon Club Assortment on the pull-outs in the pages.  I did stagger where I added the holes on these pull-outs so I would not have too much ribbon bulk in one spot.

For the tops of the tags that will slide in from the top, I used ivory, pink and light blue Burlap String which matched the ribbons very nicely.
I also added some bands of ribbon on each page near the binding of the book to add some additional interest and color.  You can probably see that a little better a few photos above this one.
I topped off the front of my mini album with a pretty bi-color bow made on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using Peony and Copin Blue Delicate Stitched Satin from the June Ribbon club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I also ran some layered ribbon across the center under the name plate.

For a video tutorial on how I created this pretty bi-color bow, please click HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you like my mini-album.

If you are a mini album maker, I would love to have you swing by my Make Time to Craft Blog.
I will be posing some questions for you seasoned mini album makers and I would love any tips or tricks you would be willing to share.

Girly Posh Mini Album Page

Hello everyone , Cheryl here with a page I designed for a Mini Album I am working on for my Grandbaby Chloey who is due to arrive this month!!! Wooohooo, can't wait to meet her!!! I am loving how my album is turning out, and I used LOTS of beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon on this page today!
So for this page I used the beautiful Satin Double faced ribbon in Hot Pink 5/8" wide for my BOW! On the interactive part where the photos will go inside I used the Black Sheer Box Pleat Trim.  I hot glued it, and then added some bling. Next I added some of the Double Ruffled Edge Satin in Azalea 1 1/2" thick, cut in half and layered for a double ruffle layered look.
I did add some WOC flowers, random flowers, and glass leaves to my layout for today. I used feathers, and some swirl bling for my page as well.  I can't wait to finish my album and share in a video with you all!
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE how all the ribbon and embellishments look on this Posh Paper! I hope my daughter loves it too! I figured this will be Chloey's album for when she is in her toddler years. I will have to work on an actual BABY album, and have plenty of time to do so :)
 Supplies:
Really Reasonable Ribbon Black Box Pleated Trim, Double Ruffled Edge Satin Ribbon, Satin Hot Pink Ribbon 5/8". Feathers, flowers, bling, sewing, swirls, tag, Posh paper line. Interactive Page! Really Reasonable Ribbon Scor-Tape

Easter Diary and a Satin Ribbon Flower Tutorial

Welcome back Really Reasonable Ribbon bloggers.  I have a very fun project to share with you.  I am giving each of my grandchildren a decorative notebook, mini album or diary for Easter.  I am having so much fun with the Graphic 45 Classic Collections, Once Upon A Springtime, with fairies and bunnies along with the varieties of gorgeous laces, ribbons and supplies from Really Reasonable Ribbon to make my Easter projects.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has the variety of sizes and colors of ribbon to give your card or project that special WOW!

My granddaughters are into fairies and this nana is also loving fairies now so the Graphic 45 Springtime collection was my choice to use for this Easter present.  The cover of the diary is leather.  Therefore, I used 1" Scor-Tape to stick the paper onto the leather.
I created a tutorial for you on how to make a variety of lovely flowers out of ribbon using the quality satin ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I tried using florist and other ribbons but found that the variety of stain ribbon from RRR didn't burn and the petals curled very nicely using a candle in a jar.  This flower was made using the gorgeous 5/8" Double Faced Satin White ribbon and 5/8" Double-Face Satin Flash Green.  The bow also was made using the 5/8" Double Face Satin ribbon  with the beautiful Melon seam binding ribbon.  Both bows were made using the Zutter Bow It All bow maker and attached with  Scor-Tape from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  In the past, my bows were not as fancy as they are now using the Zutter Bow It All.  Making bows are so much fun now!!!  The green leaf is the Cheery Lynn Design Ivy strip and the white is Sue Wilson Designs-Lace Edged Leaves.

Check out How">http://snp.gd/hbtmec">How to Make Ribbon Flowers
by Nancy Hill on Snapguide.

The beautiful cream/ivory Arianna Natural Crochet lace is on the sides and I used 1/2" Scor-Tape to stick the lace on the paper.  This tape is much better than glue for lace and ribbon.
The back cover of the diary is the 5/8" Double Faced Satin White ribbon with a 3/8" strip of Graphic 45 paper down the center of the ribbon.   The owl, castle and knight are dies from Tattered Lace's new collection.
This is the inside of the diary.  I cut out these flowers from the Graphic 45 Springtime collection and used foam tape and glue on the back to give the flowers some dimension.  Again, this knight is a die from the Tattered Lace new collection.
This page is inside on the second paper of the diary.  This very cute dragon is Freddie from digital Wee Stamps by Sylvia Zet.  I loved Sylvia's digital stamps.   I colored Freddie using Copic markers and colored pencils.  I cut this out and used foam tape and glue on the back.  I cut out the flowers in the Graphic 45 Springtime Collection and also used some foam tape and glue to apply it on this page to give these flowers some dimension.

This is a lot of information but I didn't want you to miss out of how I did this diary in case you are interested doing this.  Yes, it might take some time but I take more time thinking about my next step than doing it.

I hope you enjoyed this and would love to read your comments.  I love reading your blogs and being inspired from your projects and cards as well as learning so much from you.    There is so many new social media friends and I really enjoy hearing from you so much.  Again, my e-mail is lehill@mtida.net or I answer the questions on my comments on the blog as well.

Now, join the fun and see what our very talented Really Reasonable Ribbon designers and challengers have to share with everyone on the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog as well as our Really Reasonable Ribbon Facebook

Mother Goose Mini Album with Ribbon Closure

Hello, Ribbon Lovers! I have the cutest little baby themed mini album to share with you today.  The album base is one I designed using 4" x 5.5" white card blanks.  It's decorated with gorgeous ribbon and  papers, chipboard and stickers from Graphic 45's Mother Goose collection.
I wanted to play up the bright, primary colors of this playful collection, so I chose Red Swiss Dots Satin Ribbon for my closure and cheery Yellow Plaid Ribbon for my bow.
I used 1/2" Scor-Tape to secure my ribbon closure, wrapping the ribbon all the way around the front and back cover of the mini album.
I love the texture from the corrugated cardboard covers.  I salvaged a nice piece of 12x12 cardboard from product packaging and put it to good use in this little album.
The mini is loaded with photo mounts, pull outs, pockets and fold down pages.
The little accents of Red Swiss Dots Satin and natural burlap string add a great playful feeling to the album.
The pockets are sized to hold photos and tags.  The one on the right folds down when you remove the paper clip.
I built in a fold out page.
And it can be used for mounting photos on both sides.
I was careful to mount ephemera only along the bottom edge, so that full sized photos can be slipped in behind.
I did a little fussy cutting and banner building, too.
The final page has a cool double pocket that folds down.....
...and folds down some more so there's loads of room for photos of that important first year of baby's life.
I used stars throughout the mini album as a theme to tie all the many pages and images together.  I have to say, I would not have thought to use this yellow gold and red color palette, but I think it really does look smashing, and I love that I was able to find the perfect ribbon complement at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

If you'd like to learn how I built the base of this mini album, I have a full step-out tutorial on my blog today.  You can find that HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pocket Folio

Hey there Peeps! Well I'm here today to admit that I have a problem. I am a chronic list writer. Any little scrap of paper is fair game to scribble on. Is the list the problem? Nope. Losing the lists is the problem. When you write important information on something that looks like trash.....guess what's gonna happen? Yep you got it...lost lists.  So I created a hardcover pocket folio to tuck in all those precious little scraps.

I've already put it to work as you can see!
Really Reasonable Ribbons~Satin Swirls on Red, Satin Swiss Dots on Turquoise, Sheer Organza with Satin Center Black.
I'm using my Crafter's Companion supplies. For a full list please visit me at:
pollyspaper.wordpress.com.
Okay that's all for me. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G
