Wedding Card

I am here sharing a fun and easy wedding card today using beautiful ribbons and flower embellishment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I added a White seam Binding bow and layered it on top of the Ivory Jute String.
I then added the beautiful Rosemary Natural Crochet Lace to the bottom of the card.  On top of the bow, I added White Cottage Rose.
Then, I added a little glimmer to the flower with glitter.
I hope this gives you inspiration to create a beautiful wedding card to give.

This Card is to DYE For! By Jenn Cochran

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  Hope everyone here in the US is enjoying their day off and eating some yummy food!  Have a fabulous day!

Today I (Jenn) am sharing with you a card I made using alcohol ink dyed seam binding and Wild Orchid Berry Sprays from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I sprayed my White Seam Binding and my White Berry Sprays with Spectrum Noir Alcohol inks.  It is super easy to do with a eBrush Airbrush system.  I also colored my rhinestones with the same technique.

You can customize any white or light colored ribbon *I prefer white* using this technique.  It really gives your cards and projects the appearance of having custom made ribbon to match all the colors in your color scheme.

Thanks for visiting!  Don't forget to pop on over to the RRR website and catch the current sale going on NOW.

You are fabulous Mini Book

I was so inspired with the new colors this month for our August Ribbon Club Assortment I really, really had fun with my projects to share this month.  I found a few new things that of course i had to have, lots of RRR ribbons and added a few things I had in my stash.  This easel is a great find by Heidi Swapp and you can even ink it in colors or use color sprays to make it whatever you want it to be.

So today i am sharing this mini book that i did with the easel I picked up and some fun papers by Kaisercraft called Spring Bloom.  The rich oranges, greens and pinks were perfect to mix with my new ribbons and there is lots of places for photos to put of my daughter and her friends.

On this page i used the Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon with a red line down the center. I think it mixes in really well with the kraft tags and the embossing on them.

You can never have enough colors of bakers twine and i love adding a little texture on my pages just by tying a quick bow on it.  You can find all the twine colors in the shop here.....

On this page i used a kraft envelope and glued it down and then covered it with a piece of
kraft paper that i embossed.  I just added a pretty white seam binding ribbon with a pin and a few
stickers from the sticker sheet in the set.  Super quick and easy and this way i can add more
photos if i wanted to.  And you could make a journaling card to put inside too.

I especially love this wired woven chevron ribbon and love the way it mixes with all the
other pretty ribbons that i have.  I mixed the seam binding with it and added a little
bit of jute just because i am a little addicted to using it lately.  I love how it looks and
the ribbons has the prettiest design with the satin and mat together.

Well that's all from me today but i have lots more to share and don't forget to check out the challenges this month for a chance to win some of these beautiful ribbons!!

Have a wonderful weekend....Teresa

Creativity by Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone, it's Tracey with my final post for Really Reasonable Ribbon. I'd like to thank Bonnie for the wonderful opportunity to work with her amazing ribbon and other products here on the RRR Design Team.
Creativity has always been an important part of my life. Even as a little girl, I could be found sewing up clothes for my dolls or crocheting little book marks. Paper crafting has been a fabulous creative outlet for me. This layout is about how creativity is my happy place and features Really Reasonable Ribbon Seam Binding, Wild Orchid Craft Flowers, and adhesives

I used a mix of flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon and my stash. Here you can see the 20mm White Open Rose and Chrysanthemum. I dry brushed most of my flowers and metal flourish with gesso.
You can see my mixed media background where I've stenciled, misted and brushed with gesso. The gorgeous Dusty Attic Ornate Gate was simply painted with white spray gesso.
More Really Reasonable Ribbon Flowers ~ Chrysanthemum, Cottage Rose, and Open Rose. I've been trying to use up items from my stash and here you can see these sweet epoxy stickers that I tucked around this cluster. I tucked in some White Crochet Lace below and above my photo. Scor-Tape works beautifully for adhering lace and ribbon!!

I painted this butterfly chipboard piece with metallic paints and dry brushed with gesso. The metal piece is also brushed with gesso. This cluster features Chrysanthemums, Cherry Blossom, Cosmos, and a sweet Open Rose

I hope you've been inspired to grab your RRR ribbon and flowers and create a layout or card today!!

Thanks . . . a Bunch by Tracey Sabella

It's Tracey here to share a thank you card I created featuring Really Reasonable Ribbon seam binding and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers. I've included a tutorial for altering the seam binding to a crinkly, grungy, colored state so you can create a grungy bow like the one on my card.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Products:

Tips and Techniques
Can I just say how much I adore the seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon? It is so versatile. Bonnie carries a huge selection of colors. I have collected my share of them, but my go to color is white, and I had to buy an entire spool!! In my tutorial below, I show how to color, wrinkle, and grunge it up - so perfect for those shabby chic projects!!

Bonnie carries a wide selection of gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts Mulberry Flowers. Here I've used Chrysanthemums, Sweetheart Blossoms, and Open Roses along with some hand crafted flowers using Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms and Carnation Creation dies by Donna Salazar. I dressed up the flowers by rubbing some of them with Denim Mix'd Media Inx and adhered Fairy Dust Glitter, which really makes them sparkle.

Another view of the flowers.

You can also see a little of my mixed media background here. In the top left corner I used a script stamp with Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx and coordinating embossing powder. I then misted with Smooch Spritz. In the bottom right corner I used a brass corner flourish stamp with Jasmine MMI and clear embossing powder, then rubbed with Petals MMI. Along the top and bottom of the card, I used more of the Fairy Dust Glitter.

Grungy Seam Binding Tutorial

Supplies

Supply List
Mix'd Media Inx, Jasmine
Mix'd Media Inx CHOX - Petals
Water in a misting bottle
Heat Tool (Darice)
Nonstick Craft Sheet (Ranger)
Tweezers (EK Success)

Step 1. Measure out the length of ribbon needed for your particular project. Remember there will be some shrinking during this process, so you will want to add some length to account for this. I used 23 inches of ribbon for the triple loop bow on my card. Notice how nice and smooth this ribbon is coming right off the spool. It won't be that way for long!!

Step 2. Rub ink color(s) of choice onto a nonstick craft sheet. This pink was a little darker and brighter than I wanted for my ribbon, so I also put down some Jasmine (white) ink to mix with the pink. You can use any color of water based ink for this technique.

Step 3. Spritz the ink(s) with a light misting of water.

Step 4. Rub the ribbon through the inks - blending and mixing the two together as you go. I didn't mix them together first, because I wanted the ribbon to be blotchy with darker and lighter pink areas and even some small areas that were left white.

Step 5. Scrunch the ribbon up and hold with a pair of tweezers. Don't over think this step and don't try to make it pretty - just randomly scrunch. Also don't worry if some of the edges get a little frayed looking. That's part of the grungy, shabby look I was going for. You could also do this with ribbon that is already colored to add wrinkles. Skip the coloring/ink steps and just spritz the ribbon with water and follow the remaining steps here.

Step 6. Dry with a heat tool. To get the center of the bunched up ribbon dry, you may need to take the ribbon out of the tweezers and bunch it up again to expose more of the damp section. Repeat until it is all dry. It just takes a couple minutes for this type of ribbon. Also if you overheat the ribbon, it will singe and turn a little yellow. Again, that was fine with me. If you don't want any yellowing, you could allow the ribbon to air dry over night scrunched up in the tweezers or keep the heat tool further away from the ribbon and keep it moving.

Here is a photo of the ribbon once it is dry. You can see the color variations and the wrinkles that result from this process.

I tied a triple loop bow on my fingers using Ginny's tutorial found here. You could also whip out one of these bows in a jiffy using the Zutter Bow-it-All, now carried in the RRR Store
I hope you'll grab your seam binding and give this a try.

Butterfly Tags by Tracey

Hi, it's Tracey here to share two tags with you today featuring some gorgeous Really Reasonable Ribbon. It's always nice to have tags on hand and Ribbon is a must when it comes to tags!

Really Reasonable Ribbon Products:

Tips and Techniques:

Colored Seam Binding ~ I colored White Seam Binding with several colors of distress inks and dried with my heat tool while scrunched up to get this lovely wrinkled and splotchy ribbon. I inked the flower to place in the center of the bow. Really Reasonable Ribbon is now selling Wild Orchid Crafts flowers. Be sure to check out the great selection here

Stamping ~ I applied this lovely sentiment with Donna Salazar's Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx. The corner flourishes were stamped with Distress Ink.

Ribbon Ties ~ Here's more of the dyed Seam Binding as well as some White Wrinkled Ribbon that I dyed purple, and Cream Mesh Ribbon. I pulled them through the top of the tags and tied. I removed the clear threads in the Cream Mesh Ribbon releasing the fun wispy strands.

Crackled Butterflies ~ These Maya Road Kraft butterflies were painted with Smooch Accents, then Ranger Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint. I let the crackle dry over night then, rubbed with Distress ink to color and highlight the cracks.

Texture ~ I applied molding paste over some small mesh I have in my stash and when dry dabbed with ink.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you've been inspired to grab some really reasonable ribbon and created some beautiful tags.

"Celebrate" layout by Tracey

Good morning, it's Tracey here to share a scrapbook layout with you featuring Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Weddings are a time for celebration, and I just adore this photo of the wedding party celebrating Elizabeth and Andrew's special day. This page features several of Bonnie's gorgeous ribbons, lace, and cording and is created with the ScrapThat! August Kit.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Products:

Tips and Techniques:
Four Loop Ribbon Bow ~ I used a variation on Ginny's double loop bow to create this bow with gorgeous white Seam Binding. Instead of using my fingers, I got creative and used the handles of my pliers. You can find Ginny's Double Loop Bow Tutorial here

Ribbon Leaves ~ I wanted the ribbon leaves to be tucked into my cluster, so I cut off lengths of May Arts White Ribbon Leaves with just one or two leaves and placed them around my flowers.

Tucked Lace ~ Bonnie has so many fabulous laces to chose from, and I used one of my fave's to tuck into the edges of my page, the Juliet Natural Crochet Lace

Chipboard ~ I "painted" on some Smooch Accents in moonlight to add the creamy pearlized accents to my Dusty Attic chipboard.

Gem Banner ~ I used the pearl gems from the ScrapThat kit along with some decorative jewelry links from my stash to create this corner feature. I used Bonnie's Tombow 3-D Foam Tabs to adhere the pearl gems.

Corrugated Butterfly and Heart ~ These are hand crafted from corrugated board with tiny ridges, the kind in postal shipping boxes. The heart was wrapped with RRR Iridescent White Metallic String by May Arts. This is one of Bonnie's must have's from her store. I love the sparkly bling this sweet thread adds to my projects!! My Corrugated Butterfly Tutorial can be found here

A close-up of my glittered butterfly.

I used this Bird Is the Word sketch and featured word, "Celebrate" as inspiration.

Be sure to stop by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store to check out Bonnie's amazing selection of ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have been inspired to add ribbon, lace and cording to your next scrapbooking project!!

Dancer

Good morning everyone, it's Tracey here to share a card I designed to feature the gorgeous ribbon and string Bonnie carries in her shop.

This card is for my niece who's turning nine. She's is a tom boy who loves frilly things, so I thought this dancer card would be just perfect.

"Dancer" Birthday Card

Tips and Techniques:

Ribbon Skirt ~ I fussy cut this dancer from the Prima Divine paper and thought the RRR Silky Crush Ribbon would create a sweet skirt. I cut three strips of the Silky Crush ribbon twice the length of her skirt, finger pressed a crease at the half way point of each and machine basted across them one at a time, right next to each other so the three pieces were connected by the basting. I then folded on the stitching line and snipped strips up to about 1/4 inch from the stitching line. The "skirt" was then gathered to the width of the dancer's waist. The weave in this ribbon is tight enough to hold up to this technique without much fraying.

Braided Belt ~ I cut three lengths of the Metallic White String and braided it to created the belt at her waist. The sparkly belt covered the edge of the skirt to hide the gathering stitches.

Ribbon Flower ~ I wanted just a tiny flower for her waist, so created this ribbon flower using white seam binding

Hand Stitching ~ I drew a line for the butterfly trail, pierced stitching holes, then stitched with Iridescent White String. In this close-up you can see the gorgeous iridescence of the metallic string. I cut a little more than usual to allow for some fraying on the string ends.

I hope I've inspired you to pull out some
Really Reasonable Ribbon
to embellish your projects!!

Heart Shaped Keepsake Box

Hello Really Reasonable Ribbon fans!  Jan here to share a heart shaped keepsake box.  The box was a thrift store find and was painted dark blue.  I wanted to give it a softer vintage look so I covered it in some favorite papers and added a seam binding bow.  I've used white seam binding that has been misted with Glimmer Mist.
