Happy Monday to all of you!
I have a fun Thanksgiving project to share with you today. It's part 2 of the gift set I began showing you last week on this post.
I mentioned that I am notorious for saving ribbon scraps. What I didn't say was that I save all kinds of things for my crafting. My project for today shows you how fun it is to re-purpose everyday items found around your home! :)
The base to this decoration is actually an almond can. The top 2 pieces are old ribbon spools that were spray painted white. Miscellaneous ribbons, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, vintage buttons, scrapbook paper, burlap and silk leaves, and foam fruit decorate the tower. Touches of various Stickles add sparkle and shine.
I'll fill this with a yummy nut snack mix and then hubby will give it to some friends of ours this week.
I hope you are inspired to create something fun of your own with things you have around your house! Really Reasonable Ribbon has so many gorgeous trims and ribbons to add the perfect touch! :)
Ribbons and trims used:
tower - autumn diagonal striped grosgrain, delicate stitched satin old gold, wired woven check brown/white, seam binding dusty olive, burlap string orange
card - silky crush olive, shimmer satin tangerine with gold, autumn diagonal striped grosgrain
Wild Orchid Crafts flowers:
10 mm open roses, 15 mm open roses, cosmos, cherry blossoms

Altered wooden bag or make a $1 piece an altered beauty

Hello, my dear crafty friends!
My name is Irit Shalom and I'm thrilled to be the Really Reasonable Ribbon guest designer for January.
As a shabby/vintage artist who adores altering, my first project is an altered wooden bag you can buy in any $1 store, maybe even 2 pieces for $1. It came with this ugly green ribbon as its handle and fortunately the holes were big enough to add different pretty handles after all.
First I covered it with Bo Bunny patterned papers and it was very easy as you just need a few straight cuts. Then I added a strip of 1.5'' Jute Ribbon Natural (almost not seen after all) and tied a piece of Burlap Woven Ribbon Ivory trim around the box.
A piece of Black Crochet lace was glued over the front part and now for the fun: my ribbon flowers!
I made two of them. The first was done with Sheer Ruffle Edge Aqua trim, stitched and pulled to make this fancy flower. I added a small ribbon flower I made ages ago from an unknown blue satin ribbon.
My second flower was made with 1.5'' Champagne Netting base, stitched and pulled to make this flower base. The white flower was made with Cheer Box Pleats White ribbon and there was no sewing, I just glued it to make the circle. The flower center here is Prima center.
I also added 3 resin small flowers on the top to add a bit more colors as this project was almost monochromatic.
The handles were made with Jute Ribbon Natural trim and secured with very old brads (great way to use 4 of them as we all have a lot and never use any).
This box can be used as another gift packaging or even as a gift itself.
Hope you liked my project for today and see you next time with more crafty ribbon projects!

Humble Beginnings
Welcome to the RRR blog!
Vivian here today to share
with you a really easy project that makes for a great holiday gift.
Don’t forget about upcycling your tins for holiday gifts,
folks! I upcycled this one for my
Momma’s upcoming 77th birthday. Using a rich, saturated palette
of her favorite colors – really an autumnal color scheme - accented perfectly
with this elegant Shimmer Gold Satin from Really Reasonable Ribbon, a humble mint tin transformed into a handmade gift I think she'll love.
This is what’s inside.
For this project, I first started out by altering the
exterior. I traced the lid and base shapes onto some Bo Bunny patterned papers, cut them out, and adhered them to the tin as shown below. I also sanded the edges so that they'd exactly match the contours of my tin.
Next, I used a brown chalk ink to age the edges, workin' the distress more prominently into the corners.
After that, I stamped my sentiment with some great distress alphas from Hampton Art.
The Shimmer Gold Satin was adhered using with a thin layer of hot glue for a nice, long-lasting closure. Then I added all my embellishments.
For the photo mats, I cut several rectangles that would easily slide in and out of my tin - these measured 2 1/8 in. x 3 1/2 in. I also rounded the corners.
I slid a length of my Shimmer Gold Satin long enough to accommodate my deck of photo mats between the paper sandwiches and adhered with some permanent adhesive tape.
OK, bit of a confession. Once I had this thing assembled, the act of folding and unfolding it over and over again brought me so much pleasure, I started to wonder if something was wrong with me haha!
With the addition of a beautiful button and a bit of stamping, my project was done.
Thanks so much for visiting with me here today! This is my very first blog post with
Really Reasonable Ribbon, y'all!
Hope you enjoyed, and I look forward to sharing with you again very soon!

Ribbon,Roses,and Red
Today I have a quick altered project I did with some Really Reasonable Ribbon and lace.
While out shopping at a second hand store I found this album with page inserts. There was just a red quilted cover-much to plain for my liking.
There is one of my favorite laces Noelle White Crochet Lace and added a border to the front and the spine.
White Silk was perfect for me to add to the two covers and tie a bow-there are eyelets on each cover.
I just knotted one end and pulled through each eyelet.

Wanted to share a close up of the ribbon and grouping of Prima flowers and leaves.
Can you see the red pieces there? Guess what those are? The brads are from Lost and Found line.
I had those vintage earrings that just seemed to work with my design.and a Prima swirl finished it off.
So the next time you are shopping
don't pass up those vintage books or items-you can use so many ribbons
and laces to dress any item.

Let Me Share My Organizing (Lots of PICS)
How many of you are looking for a new way to store your supplies and still have them look nice?
To start my project I decided to use one of those carriers that hold my honeys favorite beverages...wink wink, you know the kind I am talking about.
I chose one sheet of my favorite sparkly paper and made two cuts to fit my carrier.
Now I knew when I used 12 x 12 paper it wouldn't cover all the sides, so this extra panel was cut from the middle of the sheet of paper I showed above. Love that I wouldn't waste any of this ONE sheet of paper.
I love the pattern of this paper and each side shows a part from the sheet. Now I had to cover the side panels so I pulled out one of my favorite laces to use -Noelle White Crochet Lace .Don't you like the way it looks all around the bottom also?
Now what project would be complete without some EXTRA glitter? You guessed it, I added some scor Tape and glitter in the handle area. Make sure you keep it in an area that won't interfere with you holding or putting in supplies.
All that was left was to decorate with some of my favorite ribbon and flowers.
I decided to add some more lace on the handle area, this is more of the Noelle White Crochet Lace . I put eyelets in each section to use to pull Bakers Twine through.
Can you see how nicely the spools sit in each section? On the left section is the newest Sweetheart Baker's Twine check it out it is red, pink and white!!!
One last ribbon I used was this beautiful Satin Swiss Dot Pearl Pink w/Hot Pink...it came in my January Ribbon Club...
Have you signed up for the Ribbon Club? It is such an economical price for the products you receive. So this was my organizational idea for this month, hope you enjoyed and come back to see what I share next time.

OK, you can put your hands down now-
I see I am not the only one always looking for NEW ideas.
I know I get tired of doing the same way and need NEW ideas.
Let me share a way to hold your Bakers Twine spools that looks pretty while being functional.
I have just started collecting er ordering some Really Reasonable Ribbon Baker Twine spools -
A piece of heavy chip board to re-enforce the bottom using Scor-Tape so I know it will stay together.
Did you know Really Reasonable Ribbon has Scor Tape for sale?
Next I used some Gesso to cover some of the top parts I know I wouldn't cover with paper...it took a couple coats and pretty much covered what I needed covered.
Pretend you don't see this writing- you know you can use any type card board carrier-There are many types available. Now I knew when I used 12 x 12 paper it wouldn't cover all the sides, so this extra panel was cut from the middle of the sheet of paper I showed above. Love that I wouldn't waste any of this ONE sheet of paper.
