Creating a Patriotic Greeting with Not One, But TWO Shakers by Cherry Nelson

Hello my paper peeps!  Cherry here today to share a  Patriotic greeting .  I reallllly do NOT think I will ever tire of making shaker cards.  So adding two shakers instead of one to a card was just a natural inclination.  I die cut some postage stamps from chipboard and embossed them.  Next up was adhering some recycled  acetate along with foam strips. I then went to town filling these little cuties with sequins and die cut  mini stars.

I used some paper scraps that were not quite big enough so I cut strips of navy cardstock and used them to border each pattern paper.  I thought it was kinda of a cool idea too because it reminds me of the stripes on our beloved flag.  In keeping with the patriotic air mail theme, I used Taffeta ribbon in red, white, and blue.  This is my favorite ribbon for bows.  Soft enough to loop but stiff enough to keep its shape.

I embellished the rest of the card using lots of fun mail themed goodies.  A mini envelope, die cut stars, flourishes, die cuts, and a handmade Foamirian flower and leaves that I have become obsessed lately with making.  I used stamens from the RRR website for my centers.

Well that is it for me!  Hope you enjoyed.

XOXO, Cherry

Par-tee Golf Card Folio with June Ribbons

Hello, Friends!  Since it is almost Father's Day, I thought I'd share a fun idea for a masculine card with you today.  I know many of us struggle when it comes to using ribbon on a masculine card.  But this Apple Green Satin from the June Ribbon Club is the perfect partner for this Golf Themed Card Folio.

Ivory Burlap String adds a little extra texture to the bow.  When I use ribbon on a masculine card, I like to keep it really simple.  Just wrap a length of ribbon around the left hand side of the card panel and tie a square knot.  Top it with the ivory bow and some themed embellishments.  The ribbon adds texture, shine and a pop of color.

Here's a peek at the first fold of this fancy-fold card.  It's like the ribbon does double duty!

I love the way that you can still see the ribbon on the inside of the card, too.  You can use this technique on simple side fold cards and on top fold cards, too.  It's a very easy way to add a designer touch to your project.

I hope I've shared some helpful tips and tricks for using ribbon on masculine cards.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cheerio,
kathy

Pretty Princess Card by Cheryl Walker

Hello everyone and Happy Monday to you all! Today I have a super fun card I made using Really Reasonable Ribbon flowers, and embellishments. Hope you enjoy!

On my card I chose to use the darling paper collection called Little Princess. I knew when I received the beautiful flowers and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon that it would match perfectly with this paper collection. I chose to use the mixed purple /lilac carnations and rose buds. Next I used the mixed pink open roses in 15mm, and the big flower is a chrysanthemum. Lately I've been using a lot of the flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon, as it's easier for me to get a card done quickly, instead of making all my flowers. The darling design paper was so fun to work with and is an older collection that I've had for a long time. I love to layer and chose some dies that were from Cheery Lynn Designs, except the carriage as it's a Cottage Cutz die. I also added some sewing to complete my card for today.

The die cuts are from My Makers Movement, and the Princess Carriage is a Cottage Cutz die that I colored using Copics.

Ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon Delicate Stitched Satin.

The card was put together using the Scotch Tape refill and foam squares. I also used hot glue on the flowers and flower embellishments.
Really Reasonable Ribbon Supplies Used:
Mixed Purple Chrysanthemums
Mixed Purple Rose Buds
Mixed Purple Carnations
Mixed Pink Open Roses 15mm
flower embellishments
Foam Squares
Scotch Tape Refill
Delicate Stitched Satin

Other supplies I used :
Cheery Lynn dies
Cottage Cutz dies
American Crafts design paper and card stock.
hot glue
Copics
sewing
Crafters Edge Crossover Machine(My Makers Movement)
Thank you so much for stopping by and looking! Hope you have a lovely day!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Sequin Shaker Card With Trims

Hello, creative friends and welcome by.  It's me, Karen here sharing today.  I don't know about you, but I sure do enjoy working with ribbons, laces, twines and all things spooled.  I love the textures, depth and personality they bring to all my crafting projects.  And at Really Reasonable Ribbon, you are sure to find every perfect trim for all your crafty designs.
One of my most favorite items, and one that I used quite a bit, is Baker's Twine.  This FAB trim comes in a wide variety of colors and styles (both striped and solid) and is a great bargain at just ten cents ($0.10) per yard.  It's true!  At Really Reasonable Ribbon, you'll find 40+ colors of beautiful Baker's Twine.  This amazing trim comes in 10-yard bundles for just $1.00 each.  Yup!  That's ten cents per yard.  And there are SO many great things you can do with Baker's Twine.  The card I'm sharing today is wrapped in Solid Light Pink Baker's Twine.
I layered my papers using strips of Scor-Tape and I placed lots of pretty sequins inside the frame.  The scalloped frame is raised up a bit using White Foam Tabs.  I also cut a small tag onto which I stamped my sentiment.  I tied a piece of 3/4" Celery Chevron Striped Twill to the end of my tag.  This is another great trim that comes in several different colors as well as different widths.
These two simple trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon add so much wonderful charm to my card.  You're sure to find all sorts of wonderful products at Really Reasonable Ribbon, and lots of inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  Thanks for visiting today, and please stop by again soon.

Blessings,
Karen
