Welcome back.  I'm excited to share with you one of the beautiful ribbons which is two-sided in February's Ribbon Club Month assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.com. 

Do you know that St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner?  It's Thursday, March 17th,  Thia beautiful green and yellow ribbon assortment would be perfect for those St. Patrick's Day projects or cards.  Really Reasonable Ribbon also sells each ribbon separately from the club assortment as well.

This gorgeous two-sided ribbon is the 3/8" Crosshatch on Emerald Satin Ribbon.  It has the green and white print on one side and the solid emerald green color on the other side.  WOW!

I used my Zutter Bow It All bow maker to make this bow.  This time, I formed one bow and then cut the ribbon to form the other bow and tied the green ribbon around the printed ribbon.  I used the 3/8" Scor-Tape to stick the bow and ribbon onto the card.  Bonnie has a great tutorial to do these bows without cutting the ribbon and would suggest watching her U-Tube video https://www.pinterest.com/pin/175499716706586900/.

RRR Challenge #135 - Celebrate Theme with Ribbon or Trim

Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge here at Really Reasonable Ribbon. Please scroll down to the next post for the winners of the last challenge.

The theme for Challenge #135 is Celebrate with Ribbon or Trim.  
Create a project that fits the celebrate theme - birthday, anniversary, wedding, baby, etc.

Create a card, layout, multi media piece, tag, ATC, hair bow, you name it. Just be sure to follow the theme above and use ribbon, lace or trim somewhere on your project.

To do this is really easy and all you need to do is go to Customize > Settings > Comments > then scroll down to where it says comment moderation and select always (this won't stop anybody leaving you a comment but they won't show on your blog until you approve them). Ombre Hello Note Card

Hi everyone! Leslie here, sharing a Really Reasonable Ribbon DT inspiration project with you today, a pretty ombre hello note card. I used the amazingly gorgeous Teal Silky Crush Ribbon which is one of my (many) favs! ;)

I created this gorgeous bow with my Bow-it-All v2.0. From small to large or simple to complex, this is the tool you need to create amazing bows!

Thank you the hop and all of the lovely DT creations - Answers to the questions - The width of ribbon that I favor the most is 3/8 inches - I prefer solids over prints unless the print is on both sides of the ribbon - which make better bows - I like Gross Grain ribbons the best. Have a lovely day

Come Ride With Me

Hey ribbon fans! I know you are going to look at this post and think, "gosh, Valentine's Day is over."  but I'll say right back at ya, "isn't it always time for LOVE?!" grins!

but really, wouldn't you know that when my youngest son came home for a surprise visit this past weekend, he also needed a Valentine's Day card for his girlfriend ASAP! ;) no matter how old our kids get, it's just like back in elementary school when they tell you on the drive to school that oh yes, they need 4 dozen cupcakes RIGHT NOW! ;)

so I got busy in my craft room. really busy. like, the glue might have still been a little itty bit wet when she came by to pick him up to drive him back to school! but it was finished and she liked it. whew.....

It's times like these that I am thankful for having a nice supply of ribbons & flowers from the RRR store and access to a place like Polly's Paper Studio, our challenge sponsor. I was able to print out the Retro Valentine Card digital file, add some great mulberry flowers like the cottage rose, sweetheart blossoms, and other roses to the patterned papers and heart doily. some great saved snippets of the Sweetheart Striped grosgrain stapled to the upper corner are topped with a vintage button. Red burlap string tied around the card base adds the finishing touch.

Easy peasy!  The great thing is that this card design can be adapted for ANY holiday or occasion. give it a try! :)

Keep Moving Forward

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I have an inspirational card to share with you today. Daily life is filled with obstacles and challenges both great and small.  But if we will just keep moving forward, we will achieve our goals.  The climb is often steep, but the view from the top is mighty sweet!  With this in mind, I created a layered get well card for a friend who is facing some tough hills to climb.  I used Graphic 45's World Fair collection and fabby ribbons, of course, because no project is complete without ribbon!

 I love the punchy colors of this collection, and was thrilled to find goodies in the RRR store that matched so well.  These gorgeous yellow trellis roses were lightly sponged with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and then clustered with frilly Cosmos Daisies and some sparkly gold spiral stamens.

Sometimes, burlap string is the perfect ribbon choice!  These flower clusters were so bodacious, I didn't want to try to compete with them.  But the card needed some sort of ribbon element to tie things together.  (Groan..what a terrible pun!)  I selected navy, antique gold, and orange burlap string as a complement to these fancy flowers.  I tied the bow on my Zutter Bow-it-All and then used the tip of my scissors to tuck the bow in under the floral cluster.

I did the same thing on the fold of the card, and I love the way this simple string bow anchors those flowers to the card.

The inside of the card is loaded with fun surprises.

This pocket has lots of goodies tucked inside.  I added dimension to my fussy cut hot air balloons by layering them with foam pads. And a touch of natural burlap string makes that chipboard button stand out in the crowd.

I threaded my vintage buttons with yellow burlap string, just for fun!
