Just Celebrate!

Hello, again everyone! It is Gloria comin' at you! I have been trying some different (for me) techniques lately. I am really rusty at stamping and such after taking so much time off, but I have so many supplies that are sitting around unused! I decided to try at least one new technique (or to revive an old technique) each month! Here is one for this month!

To create the lattice background, I first used a blender brush and several shades of Ranger Distress Oxide Ink to cover white cardstock. I blended the ink until the surface was well saturated. Then I sat the panel aside to dry.

Once the oxide ink was dry, I placed the cardstock into an embossing folder and ran the folder through my die cut machine. I added a thin shim in order to get a nice, deep impression. I used a blender brush and Ranger Distress Picket Fence ink to rub some of the white ink over the raised parts of the embossing! So pretty!

I trimmed the embossed panel to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" and matted it with white cardstock cut to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8".  I then cut a large banner from dark blue cardstock and a smaller banner from a scrap of checked paper (Graphic 45 Cafe Parisian Petits Fours). I attached the banners to the left side of the embossed panel.

Then I wrapped the panel with 5/8" Pink and Blue Vintage Floral Print on White Satin ribbon. I attached the panel to a 6" x 6" dark blue card base.
I created a bow with the rest of the 5/8" Pink and Blue Vintage Floral Print on White Satin ribbon and glued it to the card as shown. I tucked a chipboard embellishment under the edge of the bow.

The little sentiment is a pre-printed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Super simple, but so pretty! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Summer Mason Jar Pink Lemonade

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  We are in the dog days of summer now, and it sure has been hot here in North Carolina! Is anything more refreshing on a hot summer day than a mason jar filled with ice and pink lemonade?  Especially if you get to sip it from the comfort of an old porch swing!

I dressed up this frilly card with a bodacious Rose Pink Delicate Stitched Satin Bow.  It was one of the pretty new ribbons found in the July Ribbon Club Assortment.  Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon is one of my very favorite options from the RRR Shop.  It ties such soft, elegant bows.  And it comes in all kinds of pretty colors.

Here's a peek at the inside of this flirty, feminine card.  I just love all the mason jar images.

Hanging by the pool is another great way to beat the summer heat.  But since that's not an option for me, I'll hang out in my air conditioned studio and keep making pretty things.  How are you passing the time during these sultry summer days?

Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

THANKS

Hi, it's Karen.  Whether I'm making a quick thank you card, a birthday, sympathy, or any other card; I always know that I can count on Really Reasonable Ribbon to always have the PERFECT color, width, style, etc. trim(s) for my projects.  This card started with some basic cardstocks that I inked and stencilled to create the fun background.
I used a small thanks die-cut from Poppy Stamps to keep the sentiment small.  I didn't want to cover up the background, and I really wanted the pretty leaves, flowers and ribbons to be the star of this sweet card.  I ran a width of Danish Blue Seam Binding across my card and tied a pretty bow with it.  I also bundled up some Ivory Burlap String that I tucked underneath things.  Lots of Scor-Tape Adhesive holds everything securely in place.
I added some (blue, pink, purple) Miniature Pastel Sweetheart BlossomsDouble Head Stamens, some pretty Mulberry Leaves, and one die-cut (bluish) stem.  I also added a couple of stick pins because a) they're so pretty and b) they're covering a small hot glue mess.  I have a few extra Double Head Stamens doing the same trick in another spot.  My theory is that most of the time, small bloopers can be fixed or hidden.  Just get creative and don't give up easily.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has lots of great Embellishments to accent your projects in this special way.
Isn't that Seam Binding just so pretty?  I swear that RRR really does have the PERFECT color for EVERY project.  I had already created this card base long before I even looked at what trims I'd use.  As always, Really Reasonable Ribbon had the perfect match to my project by way of the Seam Binding.  There are over 40 gorgeous colors of Seam Binding and one is sure to match YOUR next project perfectly.  Be sure to stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to check out all their great products.  Thanks again for visiting today, friends.

Blessings,
Karen

Sweet Friend

Hello, again everyone! It is Gloria once more! I have been trying to use more of each ribbon club, plus make more than one card from a paper collection. My new craft room is really small compared to my old one, so when I drag out ALL THE THINGS I have been trying to make more than one item at a time! {smile}

For today, I have made a 5" x 7" card from off-white cardstock and layered it with paper from the Authentique Calendar collection. I will miss this paper once I use it all up!

Note: The blue ribbon here is NOT this bright in real life. It is more of a muted color, but for some reason it kept coming up super bright on camera!
The ribbon is from the July 2022 Ribbon Club, Smoke Blue Taffeta and Smoke Blue Satin Swiss Dots

I wrapped the panel with the Smoke Blue Taffeta and the Smoke Blue Swiss Dots ribbons, I then glued on a double bow made from the Smoke Blue Swiss Dots.
The little sentiment is a pre-printed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
