Introducing the NEW RRR Design Team!

It's hard to believe that it's time to announce our new Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings Design Team. Where did the last 6 months go??

First I want to thank our retiring design team members. We will miss them. Kathy, Nicole and Heather will be leaving us at the end of October although you will see Heather pop in once in a while. They did a fantastic job and gave us tons of great ideas and inspiration. I encourage you all to visit their blogs and become a follower so you can continue to be inspired by their fantastic work.

I also want to thank everyone who applied for our new design team positions. There were so many awesome entries that it was very hard to select just a couple new people. You'll find some familiar faces below and several brand new ones too.

So without further delay, please meet our new Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team.

Mom is Everything To Me

Happy Easter, everyone! Nicole P. here and I hope you are having a great time with your family or your loved ones. Since I like to plan things ahead, I thought sharing a Mother's Day card today would be perfect so you can get inspired for the next holiday that's coming up soon. Today's card feature the soft, pretty, amazing Pink Wrinkled Ribbon

Before I talk about the ribbon, I will share a technique I used on this card. You see those roses that are colored with pinks and greens? I used Copic markers to color the images, but, to create a much softer and part "water-color" look, I only filled in random parts of the images. I call this a "Selective Copic Coloring" which I came up with couple months ago. I was experimenting with it and fell in LOVE with the results.
You can watch my other project's video tutorial where I walk you through this technique in action.

Let's talk about this adorable ribbon. Wrinkled ribbons can be a perfect accent for your projects, when you want to give a bit more texture or interest. Using a nice, flat ribbon can give you clean, finished look where wrinkled ribbon can give you more of the soft, vintage look. I actually just finished "collecting" the wrinkled ribbon collection that Bonnie carries - they are super affordable and you can get lots of them for your buck!

Wrinkled Ribbons are light-weight but super easy to tie bows. Once you set it, it is good to go! Try using the wrinkled ribbon and see how you like it. Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you have a Happy Easter!

Love,
Nicole.

Mother's Day Card Tutorial

Hello Friends!!
Heather here and today I would like to share with you a Mother's Day card that I have made.
For this card you will need the following.
Really Reasonable Ribbon Tombow Fix it foam pads, Juliet LaceSalmon seam binding, Cotton Candy cane Baker's Twine, 10mm Deep Ivory Mulberry Roses and some buttons.  Of course I used my Bow it All tool to create both bows :0)
You will also need the following.
2.....5.0" by 6.5" ivory card bases
2......4.75" square pieces of pink card stock
My free digital collage sheet
3.5" doily
Ranger's Frayed Burlap distress ink
Foam Applicator (for the ink)
Glue Stick
Designer Dries Clear Glue & Fine tip applicator
Step 1
You will need to cut your card to a 5 inch square base.  You will need to use the second card base to cut a 5 inch square, which you will add to the other card base.  This will create your easel card.  So you will fold up the top flap of your card base.  Then you will glue the 5 inch square base (line it up with the top) so that it will line up with the bottom when closed.  Please refer to photo below.
Step 2
Cut 2.... 4.75 inch square pieces of pink cardstock and your collage sheet pieces.  I distressed the edges of my pieces and inked them with Rangers Frayed Burlap distress ink.  I glued the ledger sheet to the pink card stock.  The images on the collage sheet are already to size.
Step 3
I inked the doily with Frayed Burlap too.  I then glued down the focal image to the doily.  I added a row of Juliet lace and I also used a craft knife to cut the doily on both sides of the image.  I threaded my seam binding through these openings.
Step 4
I glued the seam binding down on the back of the doily.  I also cut the large foam tabs in half, and placed them around the edges of the back of one of my card stock pieces.  Leaving the top open so that I could slide a tag in.
Step 5
I also added some cotton candy baker's twine to the piece.  I glued the doily down to the card base.
Step 6
I used the Bow it All tool to create a bow which I added to my card.  I also added some foam tabs to my "Mother" text box.
Step 7
I added the other pink base inside of my card.
I took the piece that I cut off of my card stock base (when I cut it down to 5 inches).  I left it the same height, but cut the width down to 4.5 inches.  I inked another doily, and glued it to my piece and trimmed off most of it.
Step 8
I trimmed off the excess cardstock so that my piece looks just like a doily.  I centered it horizontally and placed it as close to the bottom of the card as possible.
Step 9
I added some of the ivory mulberry roses to the upper left corner of my focal piece and a button tied with cotton candy baker's twine to the right of my seam binding bow.  You can see where I tucked in a tag in the back.
Step 10
I put a foam tab on the upper part of a button, and I am placing it on my tag so that the top of the card will fit under it.
Step 11
I added some more seam binding to the top of the tag.  I also tucked in a piece of Juliet lace, and added another mulberry rose.
Step 12
On the inside I added another tiny seambinding bow, and mulberry rose.  I added my "Mother" text box too.
Step 13
I used my Art Glitter Glue and Fine Tip applicator to add glue to my doily and around the circle of my focal image.
Step 14
I added Gingerbread glitter to the doily and tag edges.  I have also added Just Peachy glitter to the focal image.
Here is a look at the finished card closed.
A look at it open
I also have a simpler card that I created using the same images from my collage sheet.
Today I am also sharing a video tutorial that I did for a Mother's Day Canvas that I have made using the same Digital Collage Sheet. I did the video back on March 25th and have been waiting to post it for what seems like forever...lol.  I believe that has got to be the longest I have been able to go..with out immediately posting a post...lol.  Normally I am last minute with my projects.  Kind of like my card and tutorial that I did for today's post :0)

Here is the video tutorial below.

I hope I have left you with lots of inspiration today!!
Thank you for visiting us at

I love the bright yellow in the ribbon pack and it reminds me of my favorite veggie which is fresh yellow squash right out of the garden, steamed with a touch of butter or cheese! yum

Now if you didn't win, don't worry!! We will be 'hopping' each month so you'll have another chance to win soon! We hope you stop by and visit our blog often.

Be sure to check out our current challenge here. We'd love to have you play along with us. Have a super day!

Sweetheart Blossoms

Hello everyone, and Happy Thursday to all! Today's card was designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the Beautiful Ribbon,Lace,Flowers, and Leaves that Bonnie carries in the shop.

I chose to use the Green Gingham, and Noelle Lace together for this card. I bunched up the lace and used it behind the flower on my bow. The little darling flowers I used are the Sweetheart Blossoms, LOVE these! Of course they are my favorite flower :) I think I need every color....hehehehehe

The scripture I used is from Victorine Originals, and the design paper is from Pebbles. My card today was super simple to make, and took me no time at all.

Supplies Used:
Really Reasonable Ribbon/Gingham
Really Reasonable Ribbon/Noelle Lace
Really Reasonable Ribbon// Sweetheart Blossoms
Really Reasonable Ribbon/Leaves
Really Reasonable Ribbon/Scor-Tape

Thank you for looking and have a super awesome day!
hugs to all,
Cheryl

Wishing you a Happy Easter

Hi everyone.
Bonnie from Really Reasonable Ribbon here today.

Since this is my last post before Easter, I wanted to show a quick and easy Easter card I made using Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Collection 8 x 8 pad.

I love making beautiful, puffy double-loop bows for my projects with my Bow-it-All Tool.
For those of you just starting out, I really recommend using our Delicate Stitched Satin for your bows.  It makes beautiful bows, it's so easy to work with, and very economically priced.

I used some 1/4" Organza Ribbon to attach the sentiment at the bottom.  Just thread it though the holes in the grommet tag and wrap it around the card.
The little tag on the right side has Plum Baker's Twine and a 10mm White Open Rose attached.

Here is a little peek at the inside.

And now for my kitchen update.........

It's hurry up and wait time......
The vast majority is done, but we still have to do the tile back-splash, window trim, switch plate covers and most importantly, knobs!!

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be unable to open many of the cabinets because there is nothing to hold on to!  I understand that we needed to wait until the granite counter was in to make sure we picked the right knobs to coordinate, BUT......
this girls patience has worn thin!!!!  lol

However, I do have a functioning sink now - see that water coming out of the faucet?  Yay!!

I didn't really move any of the stuff around (for the photo) that I have sitting on the counter temporarily - dishwasher is still not totally hooked up - but you can see the beautiful granite counter top.
Ain't it gorgeous??!!!

More soon on the kitchen progress.
We are going to get as much done as possible by Easter, but I'm thinking it won't be finished.  That's okay though.  We are hosting Easter, but it will just be family.  They will love it even if it's not totally completed.

Thanks for stopping by today!
