I Like You "A Watt" Card

Hello guys! Nicole here and today is my last post for Really Reasonable Ribbon. *sigh* It has been such a fun journey to be designing along with those awesome ladies in the team and Bonnie. I want to thank her for giving me such a wonderful job for the past few months! I thought my last project should truly reflect who I am 100%.  So here is another Clear and Simple Card (CAS) for you.

This is a one layer card using 2 step stamp. I stamped the image right onto the cardstock and dressed it up with the Lemon Baker's Twine. I love how clean the card is and how it directs the focus right to the main image with the twine.

Want a quick tip for making a perfect bow with baker's twine? 1) Make sure that the twine itself is not twisted when tying the bow. This will help you to create a perfect, full circle shaped bow. 2) If you want the trims to flow nicely, add a bit of multi-medium glue to the trim and rub with your fingers. Create the shape you want the trims to be and they will try in that shape. Than you have a perfectly shaped bow!!

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my project here in RRR. Thank you so much for all the love you've shown and hope you have much more fun with new & returning design team members!!

Hugs,
Nicole

Mom is Everything To Me

Happy Easter, everyone! Nicole P. here and I hope you are having a great time with your family or your loved ones. Since I like to plan things ahead, I thought sharing a Mother's Day card today would be perfect so you can get inspired for the next holiday that's coming up soon. Today's card feature the soft, pretty, amazing Pink Wrinkled Ribbon

Before I talk about the ribbon, I will share a technique I used on this card. You see those roses that are colored with pinks and greens? I used Copic markers to color the images, but, to create a much softer and part "water-color" look, I only filled in random parts of the images. I call this a "Selective Copic Coloring" which I came up with couple months ago. I was experimenting with it and fell in LOVE with the results.
You can watch my other project's video tutorial where I walk you through this technique in action.

Let's talk about this adorable ribbon. Wrinkled ribbons can be a perfect accent for your projects, when you want to give a bit more texture or interest. Using a nice, flat ribbon can give you clean, finished look where wrinkled ribbon can give you more of the soft, vintage look. I actually just finished "collecting" the wrinkled ribbon collection that Bonnie carries - they are super affordable and you can get lots of them for your buck!

Wrinkled Ribbons are light-weight but super easy to tie bows. Once you set it, it is good to go! Try using the wrinkled ribbon and see how you like it. Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you have a Happy Easter!

Love,
Nicole.

Welcome Baby Card using Hemp Cord Set

Happy Wednesday, ribbonistas!! Nicole P. here with a fun welcome baby card for ya. I've been wanting to use this adorable pastel hemp cord mix and thought a baby card for a friend would be perfect!!

I used the Variegated 2 Hemp Cord Set and chose this pastel colored one. These hemp cords are so fun, they are mixed with different colors so you can create multiple color effect on projects. Do you know why I am so into those hemp cords though? They are so easy to work with!! I have no trouble making a bow with it and it stays there for good. Love it!

It is so adorable and love how it works well with the stamp set I used here. I stamped the baby chick image and cut out the eggshell and used foam adhesives to give it a 3D look. I used Copic markers to color in the chick and the egg.
Quick tip #1 - If you are cutting out the stamped image, take a black marker and go around the edge of the cut out images. This gives more of a "professional cut" look.
Quick tip #2 - I like to keep two separate scissors - one for ribbon cutting only and one for other uses. This way, you can always have a clean ribbon cut.
Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a comment and share some love with us :) If you would like a full supplies list of today's card, please click here. Have a great day!!

Pink, Red, Purple Birthday Card

Happy Saturday! I am so glad you've decided to stop by and excited to share a card with you all - I have been working on a lot of birthday cards since I needed to refill my card stash. We can never have enough birthday cards on hand, right? (Just like we can never have enough ribbons!!)

The card I am sharing today is super fun and feminine. I just love the warm colors it carries. I have been "collecting" these awesome hemp cords that Bonnie carries at her store (I still need to get a few more to complete my collection set) and wanted to use some of the wonderful colors on a card. I took out the Pink Hemp Cord and Lavender Hemp Cord and created a card around them.

I used some of Distress Ink Pads for the background and gave it a water-color look for softness. I wanted to highlight the hemp cords and these background colors came together nicely. Don't you think so? I wrapped the cords around twice together, and tied a bow.

I really don't think I can ever have enough hemp cords! I hope you enjoyed today's card- Thanks for stopping by and make sure to grab some of those awesome Hemp Cords!

hugs,
Nicole

Mother's Day Card with Shimmer Satin Coral Rose Ribbon

Happy Thursday! I know it is only March, but Mother's day is coming soon and I thought I would share a beautiful Mother's day card to inspire you. I love the Shimmer Satin Coral Rose Ribbon from the March Ribbon Club Assortment and wanted to use it on a card this week. I think it comes together quite nicely along with the main image of the card. Don't you think?

The ribbon has this nice subtle shimmer that doesn't really overwhelm you. I love the soft look and the color of it and it would look really great for wedding or birthday cards as well. I wanted to make the card pretty feminine and added lots of soft pink and soft red. I simply stamped the image, heat embossed it with white, and used some distress markers to give a water-color look.

I wrapped the two end corners of the card with the Simmer Satin Coral Rose Ribbon and tied a bow on one end. I love how easy it is to tie a bow with this ribbon. This is a must have! If you are currently working on a spring project, make sure to grab the March Ribbon Club Assortment. It would be a wonderful addition to any of your projects. Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Nicole

Missing Ewe

Happy Sunday! I wanted to share a super cute card today with you all. I kept everything very minimal and love how the Silver and Blue Topaz Diagonal Striped Ribbon frames the focal point perfectly. It really helps the project to stand out!

To make it more fun, I adhered the main layer diagonally.  I thought it would go well with the ribbon since the stripes are diagonal as well. I took out this cute sheep stamp set and lightly water-colored to keep everything soft.

Most of the card is blue-grayish so I added couple of yellow enamel dots to add some brightness to the card.

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Simple Masculine Birthday Card

Happy Thursday!! I was playing with this Turftan Brown Diamond Satin Ribbon the other day and this idea struck me. Have you ever had a moment when everything just came together in a blink of an eye? I wanted to use up my silver buttons and create a simple Masculine birthday card, so I went into work!

I love all of the diamond satin ribbons that Bonnie carries at RRR, they are smooth and wonderful to tie bows easily. Here I simply tied the knot vertically on the card and added a silver button right on top using the glue dot. Stamped the sentiment in blank ink and added a few star sequins on the card. This card took only few minutes, and I thought it would inspire you to feel more comfortable in creating any masculine card.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Rainbow Baker's Twine Card

Good morning, ribbonistas! I am going all out with my twine collection on today's card. I know, I love them too much. But, how can I resist these cute, adorable, lovely colors of baker's twines, especially when Bonnie carries so many of them in great prices? I got 10 yards of these each colors and couldn't wait to play with them, so for today's card, you are going to get a full load of them! I wanted to create a rainbow look with the card so I chose 7 colors, wrapped each of them twice on the card layer, and tied the bows on the left.

Colors used in this card are: Cherry, Orange, Lemon, Green Apple, Aqua, Blueberry, and Plum. These would be great ones to have on your stash, since they are primary colors and will fit on most of your projects. I love Baker's twine because they are practically universal, doesn't need to have a specific styled creation to use them, and they can complement any project types; cards, layouts, and mixed media. They can not only be a great finishing touch, but like you see here they can be awesome main elements.
Thank you for dropping by today. I hope you enjoyed my card and don't forget to check back tomorrow for another great inspiration! Have a great day!

Ribbon Organization Day 7

Hello, ribbon lovers! I am excited to share my ribbon organization today. I don't know about you, but I am a major neat freak - everything has to have its own place and be easily found when I want it. Inspirations don't flow when things are cluttered on my crafting desk so I always clean between projects and after when I am all done.

Alright, so with that being said, let me share my organization style. On the left side of my crafting desk, I have two IKEA Alex drawers. I love these drawers because they are deep with plenty of spaces to store different types of crafting goodies. White ones are shown here, but you can also get them in black.

In the second drawer of the Alex unit that is closest to me, I keep all of my trims that are not on spools. I keep ribbons with spools in a separate drawer which I will show you shortly.

As you can see, they are neatly put away! I keep them in plastic drawers and separate them into sections. These drawers are called InterDesign Linus Drawer Organizer and I use 6x15 size ones. You can fit 4 of them tightly in a drawer but I use 3 so I can have some space to store my natural cords and hemps on their own spools (I like to have them close to me).

First to the left drawer organizer has all of my RRR Monthly Ribbon Club Assortments. I like to keep them together by set since they coordinate with each other really well and it is easier for me to be inspired when I want to use a trim.

The middle organizer has all of my other ribbons, sorted by colors. These are the ones I usually uses that don't belong to monthly assortments, or other ribbons that either came in card kits or came in different goodie orders.

The one to the far right has my current baker's twines. I like to keep them on their original spools or on cloths pins. I just got punch of baker's twine from RRR, will put them on wooden spools and keep them right in this bin.

This is how I organize each of my trims. I put them on a DIY ribbon card - just cut a very think cardstock or a thin cardboard to 2 x 3 and wrap them around. I secure them with a paper clip so the trims won't fall out and get all loose.

On top portion of the ribbon card, I write where that ribbon is from, which collection it belongs to, and its name. That way I can easily link them up on my project posts.

Far left side of the drawer has all of my natural trims. Hemps, bamboo cords, twines, etc. I like to keep them on their original spools or cards, just easier that way. And they are already organized somewhat lol.

Here is how I store ribbons on spools. I don't use them as often as I should but when I do want them, I just come to this drawer and look through my stash. I stopped buying full spool ribbons because since I don't use a lot of each, unless of course they are baker's twines or natural trims. I like to work with many different style of trims so little bit of everything works well for me.
I hope this inspired you in some way. Please let me know if you have any questions! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Thank you for hanging out with us!

Customized Bamboo Cord Valentine's Day Card

Happy Friday! Nicole here and today I have a fun card using custom colored Bamboo Cords. Bonnie carries all sorts of hemp cords over at the RRR online store and I picked few of them this month. Among those I ordered the Bamboo Cord Multi-weight Set. You have 4 different weights that fit all of your crafting needs in this assortment and it comes in white.

So I thought, why not make it more fun? So here I am using some of the Distress Paints to create colored bamboo cord to fit the card them for today. I am using Victorian Velvet, Picked Raspberry, Fired Brick, and Seedless Preserves.

Steps are quite easy. All you do is paint on the cords to die them as your liking. I use 2 cords for each color so I would have plenty to cover up my front layer.

To dress up the card, I went from light to dark, starting from the top. I stamped a sentiment on a vellum cardstock and adhered it onto the space I left between the darker colored cords. Added couple of mini sequins, just for fun!

Thanks for checking out today's project- Hope you have an awesome weekend!

You Mean the World To Me

Happy Wednesday! How about something soft and elegant for today's blog post? I have been wanting to create a card using the lovely Sally White Crochet Lace Ribbon for a while but couldn't get the inspirations to flow for a while. I wanted a soft look on a card so the trim would pop out perfectly.

I found this blue-greenish background paper from my stash and added a vellum cardstock layer on top of it to soften the colors. Adding the sentiment with the trim makes the whole card look elegant and soft in my opinion. The bow ties very easily with this trim - and it stays there really well. I think the bow itself it just adorable!

What do you think? I just love how detailed the lace ribbon is and how lovely it adds interest to the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's project- Thank you for stopping by!

This calls for a Cake!

Hello, all! Nicole here with a fun, easy birthday card you can whip up in just few minutes! We are going to have some fun with cool colors today. I have been wanting play with this Faux Canvas Ribbon and found a matching paper from my stash that would go perfectly with it!

Isn't this awesome? I love the Faux Canvas Ribbon, it is so easy to work with and create such a nice looking bow. Here I used Salmon color, but there are some yummy colors that Bonnie carries at the RRR store. Make sure to check it out!

The color of the ribbon coordinates nicely with the rest of the card element, including the colors I used and couple of enamel dots on the card. Hope you can play something fun with your ribbon today! Thank you for stopping by :)

Simple Valentine's Day Card with Baker's Twine

Happy Sunday! Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. I am popping in quickly to share a fun card with you using the baker's twine on a card. I created a simple Valentine's day card and wanted to compliment by adding a touch of trim.

I used the Baker's Twine Card Set - Sizzling Summer and used the lightest color one to match the rest of the card color scheme. Bonnie is having a 5-day sale on other items including baker's twines, so make sure to check out our RRR online store!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Sunday :)

Tri-color Masculine Birthday Card

Happy Saturday!

I bet some of you are running last minute Christmas shopping this weekend. To get you away from the hectic holiday preparation madness, I am here to inspire you with a fun masculine birthday card! One of the most frequently requested cards I get from the readers are to share more masculine card. What a better way to have your trim on hand to inspire you for the whole card?

I love, love, LOVE all the hemp collection that Bonnie carries at the RRR store - this is one of my favorite. I used 20lb Hemp Variegated Spool Sandalwood (which is one sale!) for this card and got the whole color scheme of the card from it. This hemp has few different colors combined and you can see different colors as you roll it out. I thought this would be perfect for a guy's birthday.

So to match the color scheme of the hemp, I used gray, light brown, dark brown, and blue to create a fun background for the card and stamped the sentiment. Added few enamel dots to compliment the hemp and the background.

Let the trims on your hand inspire you! I hope you have a Merry Christmas! Thanks for stopping by!
