At the end of the hop, comment on this post answering the question below for a chance to win our April Ribbon Club assortment shown below.
Our question of the month is:
What is your favorite vegetable and do you have a special way of preparing it?
I've decided to put in a garden again this year. I miss it. I used to have a huge garden and then one year the deer decided to jump the fence and gut it for me - so disappointing.... It's been several years and I'm ready to try again. I just need a taller fence this year!
My favorite veggie is sweet corn and it's sooo good when it's fresh picked. I can't wait!

Loved all the projects I saw today! My favorite veggie is asparagus... I love it drizzled with a little olive oil and spices and roasted in the oven. YUM!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome hop! So many talented designers and this collection of ribbon is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite vegetable is really hard to pick. We have a big old garden every year and I love fresh picked veggies. The asparagus and snow peas are always up first and are wonderful stirred up together. The brussel sprouts are always last and there is nothing as sweet as fresh picked brussels. Ooops, that's more than one favorite.
I love asparagus! After washing it and trimming the bottoms, I usually just put it in a glass baking dish with a little butter, salt and pepper. I microwave it for 4-6 minutes (depending on the amount), and let it sit for 5 minutes. It retains the fresh vegetable taste and doesn't get soggy. Great hop!
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite vegetable is not techniquely a vegetable - it's peas! I think they're like a bean or something, but who can resist the perfect little green spheres? I love to serve them in a cream sauce, sometimes with little new potatoes.
ReplyDeleteGreat color combo this month. Off to see the projects. Fav veggie....all of them, except lima beans. Blech.
ReplyDeleteloved the projects and the ribbon assortment. Love asparagus cooked the way Lucy mentioned. Yum!
ReplyDeleteLove all fresh vegs from the garden but sweet corn is my favorite! Great hop!
ReplyDeleteLove all the fantastic projects. My favorite vegetable is broccoli: raw in salad or just to snack, roasted with seasoning and butter, if desired, and of course it's always great in a casserole with rice and cheese. (gildamc@hotmail.com)
ReplyDeleteI guess I'd have to say that corn on the cob is my favorite vegetable. I usually just use the old fashioned method of boiling for 7 minutes and then slathering with butter. lol This was an amazing blog hop. The projects were great and the ribbon, exceptional. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow, love all the fun inspiration! GREAT hop!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite vegetable is broccoli-I LOVE it steamed, then add a little salt, pepper and butter or if I want to really be bad...I add cheese and melt in in microwave for 30 seconds...yummy!!!
Okay, now I need to go make some...sounds so delish right now, lol!

I love your hops you have such an amazing DT and your April ribbon assortment is super elegant love the grey and yellow! I'm with you on the veggie choice sweet corn made on the grill in the husk and then peel, dip into a can of melted butter, eat then repeat!
ReplyDeleteOven Roasted asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, okra. Love them all!
ReplyDeleteI cannot just name one... my faves are tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, and I love to mix them in salads or on their own. Brave of you to try planting again! I am a horrible gardener but I love the idea of fresh veggies, just cannot try to kill any more plants:-)
ReplyDeleteFirst I loved the blog hop. I just wish I could have comment on Jenn's blog. I was able to share her post it never would let me tell her how great her card is. I loved the back ground and her ribbon. Perfect sentiment. I felt I was looking at a piece of art.
ReplyDeleteSecond. My favorite vegetable is potatoes. I love them no matter how they are fixed. My favorite way is to mash them with butter, sour cream milk, salt and pepper. Then melt some cheddar cheese on top. sprinkle bacon bits and green onion or chives on as a garnish. Yum! Yum!
Thank you everyone! Edwina Brown
I love the yellow and grey combo.... I'm on the middle of a craft room makeover and it just happens to be the colours I've chosen! My favorite veggie is broccoli and we just started baking it in the oven...a great alternative to the usual steaming we have done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ribbons and wonderful inspiration from the DT! I'm an avid vegetable gardener and try to grow anything and everything that will possibly grow in our area. Absolutely nothing can beat a fresh tomato! I can't even bring myself to buy one at the store because they have no flavor. Tomatoes are most definitely what I look forward to all year. We always can a bunch and make lots of salsa, but really I think the best way to enjoy them is fresh with a bit of salt...(and I'll ignore the fact that yes, they are a fruit)
ReplyDeleteLoved the hop. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteFave Veg...Zucchini grated in spice bread, or chocolate cake, Sliced long ways and make Veggie Lasagna Mmm Or just sliced in the rounds sauted in a little bacon grease with onion and tomatoes. I'm not picky...
My favorite vegetable? I've just been hopping around from blog to blog, my head is filled with bows and flowers and tea pots and mini albums and coffee sleeves, and you want to know what my favorite vegetable is! Well, under the circumstances, I'd have to say carrots! (get it? hopping? bunnies? carrots?) My daughter in law makes a killer carrot souffle that is to die for!
ReplyDeleteThis was my favorite monthly selection received. I love the blog hop this month. So inspiring.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is home grown tomatoes. Nothing like them.
I love the bright yellow in the ribbon pack and it reminds me of my favorite veggie which is fresh yellow squash right out of the garden, steamed with a touch of butter or cheese! yum
ReplyDeleteMy favorite veggie is summer squash cooked on the grill with some butter and brown sugar, your projects are all so great
ReplyDeleteIn the summer my favorite is corn on the cob. Some fresh, sweet, white corn! Nothing like it. I usually just bring it to a boil, covered, and then turn off the heat and let it sit. But my cousin does it on the grill and it's delicious!
ReplyDeleteThese are a great color combo!! My fav veggie is fresh string beans cooked with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper! So yummy! Carri~Abusybee
ReplyDeleteGreat colors of ribbon.
ReplyDeleteSince becoming a gardener I have learned to like asparagus--especially when grilled with olive oil and a little salt and pepper.
Love all fresh veggies from the garden!!love fried red tomatoes..Great blog hop
