Unicorn Wishes and Curly Ribbon Dreams

Hello friends and happy Monday to you! Linsey here and today I have a sweet little card to share and a fun ribbon technique that you might want to try! It is often referred to as making curly/corky or corkscrew ribbon--and guess what? It is so easy! Here's my card and I hope it adds a bit of sparkle and magic to your day!
Now, here's the super simple steps to making your own corkscrew ribbon strips...
First, pick your ribbon. I used this gorgeous Hyacinth Satin with Grosgrain Edge. Take a wooden rod or wooden spoons and use the handles to wrap your ribbon around, securing with a clothes pin at both ends. Then bake in a preheated 275 degree oven for 35 minutes (longer for thicker ribbon). Finally, spray lightly with spray starch while still wrapped and let cool.
Now unwrap and enjoy the all the fun of corkscrew ribbon!!!
Easy, right? I told you so! Just imagine all the things you can make using fun corky ribbon and get curling!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy crafting!

Dreams

Cherry here today! Happy Super Bowl Sunday.  I will be quick here..don't want to distract anyone from the guacamole dip.  I have two feel good cards to share.
Both cards have  to do with following your path.  Been thinking a lot about that in the new year.  I hope to direct myself more deliberately towards my dreams.   Allowing myself more time to walk that path.   How about you?
Love the bright happy colors in these cards.  I used this wonderful orange and white stripe ribbon   that I have just fallen in love with.  I usually don't gravitate towards orange.  Loving it right now.

Well folks that is it for me!  Hugs, Cherry

Friends

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a sweet card I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon using their BEAUTIFUL Satin Ribbon & Gorgeous Embellishments. I LOVE the way this card turned out , as everything worked so well together.
On my card here, I chose to use this beautiful Winter Birds tag designed by Ginny. I absolutely love the darling bird, it's beautiful and perfect for layering!!! You can find it here in her Etsy Shop. I cut it out and distressed it. Then I added some flowers that I created using Cheery Lynn dies & My glass flower technique that can be found here. I did cut some branches using a branch punch, and added in Really Reasonable Ribbons Antique bronze leaf charms.  I love how these look on here.

For my big bow, I chose to use Really Reasonable Ribbons Satin, and I love all the different types of satin you can choose from at RRR. I used a gold and a wine, they match perfect for my card today.

For embellishments, I chose to use the flat backed pearls, love using them on my bows and layers of my cards. I also will use them in the center of flowers, but on these flowers I chose some vintage beads.. for my tag and friends tag.  I used the foam tabs to give a 3-D look.

I hope you enjoyed my post for today! Thank you for stopping by, and have a super awesome day!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Well, you either have the assortment already if you are a member, OR if you are not, you can enroll now and start with the January/February Ribbon Club combo for a special low price!

The January assortment is themed for Valentine's Day, but as you can see, only one ribbon has hearts.  The rest of the ribbon can be used for a variety of different projects and red and white make a striking color palette.

Not a member yet?

The January assortment has 9 styles and 17 yards of ribbon and trim and the February assortment has 9 styles and 18 yards of ribbon.  Each monthly assortment is a holiday or color themed assortment of ribbon.  What a fun way to build your ribbon stash and try new ribbon styles.

My perky bow was made on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using the red bold diamond print ribbon from the January Ribbon Club Assortment.

Believe & Love Faith Greeting Card

Happy first of the month RRR Peeps!  You know it's my day to share a project created with the new Ribbon Club Assortment. This month it's a Pink and Green Mix which is sooo perfect to go with some new papers I just got and I am a happy crafter!
Isn't that a lovely bright cheerful collection??? It inspired this card......
I couldn't have gotten a better match if I picked the ribbons out myself.   This card has layers of patterned papers and a garden of flowers and a lovely faith or inspirational journal card.
I'm not even going to try to tell you that I tried to limit the flowers I added here....because clearly more is better anyway.
I layered the ribbons over top of the already busy paper and I love it that much more.
Just a little snippet of the pink ribbon here cut at an angle and tucked under the flowers is just the right touch.  Altered and layered chipboard frames are fairly neutral so as to compliment and not compete with the busy papers.
OMGosh OMGosh OMGosh I added some sparkly bits with the clear glass beads which adds sooo much texture and shine.
This busy combination required a fair amount of spacers between the layers to keep everything from getting jumbled up.   The bright cheerful colors of this card along with the inspirational sentiment just makes me so happy : )

Okay, that's all for me. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G
