Ribbon Organization Day 8 with Cheryl

Hello everyone, Cheryl here today to share my Ribbon Station with you all. This last week the RRR Design Team has been sharing how we store our ribbon :) Super FUN!!!! I absolutely LOVE Really Reasonable Ribbon, and all the wonderful fun assortments that Bonnie carries over at the RRR Store.
Photos below will show different parts of my Ribbon Station.

This top photo is where I hang Really Reasonable Ribbon when the package is open. Lately I have been picking rolls of ribbon, and a few packages.

For this photo above, I have jars of the ribbon.  Once it's open, I will hang it on the curtain rod. It makes it easy for me to find.

Here is a photo with the tops of the jars off so you can see my RRRibbon :)

Here in this photo you can see the jars, and some of my ribbon spools from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Another photo to see more rolls. I just keep them stacked, it makes it easy for me to see, so I will use what is out. I mostly pick from the rod, and these spools that I can see.

More spools, and then some heart shaped baskets that have the Really Reasonable Ribbon flowers in them. I also keep some of the RRR monthly club kits in another heart shaped box.  You can see it up on the hat boxes to the bottom right of this photo.

Close up of my mess.....LOL

Here is where I keep some of the Really Reasonable Ribbon Monthly kits. Otherwise some of the bunches go in jars, or the drawers below.
More ribbon. YES I love Ribbon!!!LOL but who doesn't ???!!!

This photo is the middle drawer with RRR in it too.

I hope you enjoyed my post today, as I had fun sharing my Ribbon station with you all!!!
Hope you have a super wonderful day!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Ribbon Organization Day 7

Hello, ribbon lovers! I am excited to share my ribbon organization today. I don't know about you, but I am a major neat freak - everything has to have its own place and be easily found when I want it. Inspirations don't flow when things are cluttered on my crafting desk so I always clean between projects and after when I am all done.

Alright, so with that being said, let me share my organization style. On the left side of my crafting desk, I have two IKEA Alex drawers. I love these drawers because they are deep with plenty of spaces to store different types of crafting goodies. White ones are shown here, but you can also get them in black.

In the second drawer of the Alex unit that is closest to me, I keep all of my trims that are not on spools. I keep ribbons with spools in a separate drawer which I will show you shortly.

As you can see, they are neatly put away! I keep them in plastic drawers and separate them into sections. These drawers are called InterDesign Linus Drawer Organizer and I use 6x15 size ones. You can fit 4 of them tightly in a drawer but I use 3 so I can have some space to store my natural cords and hemps on their own spools (I like to have them close to me).

First to the left drawer organizer has all of my RRR Monthly Ribbon Club Assortments. I like to keep them together by set since they coordinate with each other really well and it is easier for me to be inspired when I want to use a trim.

The middle organizer has all of my other ribbons, sorted by colors. These are the ones I usually uses that don't belong to monthly assortments, or other ribbons that either came in card kits or came in different goodie orders.

The one to the far right has my current baker's twines. I like to keep them on their original spools or on cloths pins. I just got punch of baker's twine from RRR, will put them on wooden spools and keep them right in this bin.

This is how I organize each of my trims. I put them on a DIY ribbon card - just cut a very think cardstock or a thin cardboard to 2 x 3 and wrap them around. I secure them with a paper clip so the trims won't fall out and get all loose.

On top portion of the ribbon card, I write where that ribbon is from, which collection it belongs to, and its name. That way I can easily link them up on my project posts.

Far left side of the drawer has all of my natural trims. Hemps, bamboo cords, twines, etc. I like to keep them on their original spools or cards, just easier that way. And they are already organized somewhat lol.

Here is how I store ribbons on spools. I don't use them as often as I should but when I do want them, I just come to this drawer and look through my stash. I stopped buying full spool ribbons because since I don't use a lot of each, unless of course they are baker's twines or natural trims. I like to work with many different style of trims so little bit of everything works well for me.
I hope this inspired you in some way. Please let me know if you have any questions! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Thank you for hanging out with us!

Crazy Ribbon Storage-By Jenn Cochran

Hello RRR friends and fans!  Jenn here with my ribbon storage.  I love seeing how everyone else in the crafty world organizes their "stuff".  I hope you have enjoyed seeing the RRR DT so far this week.

My storage is pretty random.  I use what I have...but it works.  I purchased the below spinner at a yard sale.  I am sure it was for hanging little items in celo packages from each arm.  I started out that way with celo packages with each kind of ribbon in it.  But it wasn't utilizing the space.  SOOOOO, I just rainbowed the ribbon and hung it off of the little arms.  I cannot believe how much more ribbon I got on it once the celo packaging was eliminated.

Here I keep all of my NON-RRR in jars from the supermarket.  I have them all wound on doll pins.  Each jar is a different color.  I think there are 7 jars total.

Here are my stacker plastic drawers.  They are 12x12 and I have 6 drawers in a stack.  The top drawer are my RRR extras and all of my RRR-Wild Orchid Flowers.

This is the HOT MESS when you open it.  I just shove all my tiny bits of ribbon and all my flowers into the drawer.

This smaller spinner sits on top of the 6 drawers stacked.  It hold all of the neutral colored ribbons.  Directly to the side of this is my pegboard.  It holds spools of twine.

Here is another drawer of random NON-RRR ribbons still on spools.  I just am too lazy to take the time to spin them onto doll pins.

Here are some random close-ups of the fabulous Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my wild ribbon storage.  Hope you have a great weekend!

Ribbon Organization Day 5

I Love RRR

Ribbon Organization with RRR

Hello, all you fabulous ribbon lovers! No project to share with you today, but I do have some ideas for ribbon storage that you might find helpful. I have ribbon. Lots of it. Some of it I inherited from my mother, who inherited from my Grandmother. And Lord only knows where Grammy Ma got the ribbon! When you have an addiction er, I mean passion....for ribbon, finding ways to organize it can be very challenging.

RRR Ribbon Organization 02

This is where I store the bulk of my RRR ribbon. My husband bought me this rolling cart for Christmas. I needed a spot to keep punches, paper cutters, papers, inks, etc close at hand, but off my desk so that I would actually have room to work. This is a Recollections 3 drawer cart on wheels. The drawers and organizer spaces are really nice, but the thing I am enjoying the most is the ribbon storage area on the side of the cart. This keeps my RRR ribbons close at hand while I am designing. Prior to this, I had them all in a little basket on top of a shelf. Which was cute....but let's face it, not very practical.

What's Most Important to You?

I have three main concerns when it comes to ribbon organization:
1) visibility....If I can't see it, I won't use it
2) accessibility: If I have to dig through a basket or drawer, I'm going to get frustrated and probably not use it
3: Protecting my ribbon: I don't want it to fade. I don't want it to fray. I don't want it to get soiled.
And, because I am on a design team for RRR, I also need a place to keep my design team ribbon separate from all my other ribbon. So, this little cart fit the bill on all accounts. Here's how I use it:

RRR Ribbon Organization 05

The side of the cart designed for ribbon storage has 2 dowels, one above the other. I used the top dowel for my spooled ribbon. I don't have a lot of this, but this is where I keep most of it. You've probably noticed how frequently I use Natural Jute String in my projects. I love adding it beneath a button or on a masculine card. So I keep it right at hand. I can see it, it is easily accessible and it is protected. Same holds true for the other ribbons on this top dowel.

RRR Ribbon Organization 06

I also keep my crocheted lace on the top dowel. Because I link to whatever product I'm using in my posts, I keep the little wrapper with that crocheted lace's printed name on it. This saves me a ton of time. If I've unwrapped it, I just put it into a ziploc bag and clip the name onto the hanger with the lace. By the way, these are cafe curtain rod clips that I found at Target. Super cheap, and they work great for hanging ribbon from a dowel.
Now, onto the lower dowel:

RRR Ribbon Organization 02

I have my ribbons on the lower dowel packaged in sandwich sized ziploc bags and hung from the same cafe curtain clips. I have the ribbon organized by type (satin, grosgrain, gingham, etc) and if it is part of a ribbon assortment package, I keep it together in that ziploc bag.

RRR Ribbon Organization 03

Again, this helps me when it comes time to link a product to a post. It also helps me remember what to re-order when the time comes. After using the ribbon, I re-fold it and put it back in the bag.

RRR Ribbon Organization 04

I use this same method with the monthly Ribbon Club assortments. Once I open the assortments, I do put the ribbons into a ziploc bag. Storing my ribbon this way takes up very little space and keeps everything nice and neat. Which makes me happy.

RRR Ribbon Organization 01

I also have this clip it up Ribbon organizer on the opposite side of the room. This is where I store my lace, some ribbons and odd bits of trim. There is a 9-cubby organizer shelf right below it, and this is where I keep my Zutter Bow-It-All Tool. I use the rear spindles to store more of my favorite RRR ribbons: Natural Jute Ribbon, Cream Seam Binding, Silky Crush Champagne Ribbon, and White Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon. I use these so often that I just leave them on the back of the Bow it All so that they are always at hand.

Storing Odds and Ends

I know one of the biggest issues I had to address was how to store odds and ends of ribbon. You know, you just have enough left to make one little bow, but you don't have room for another spool of ribbon in your storage space. Here is how I solved that problem:

RRR Ribbon Organization part 1 01

This clear shoe organizer hangs on the back of my closet door. As you can see, the ribbons are organized by color. This doesn't quite pass the visibility test, because I keep the closet door closed. However, this is the closet where I store my paper, so every time I go in there to get a new piece of paper for a project, I also see this ribbon. So I guess it does pass the test after all. It keeps it accessible and protected, too. Plus, it uses what would otherwise be dead space, and that is always a good thing.

One last little thing. Do you ever tie a bow and then decide not to use it? Well, I have a little set of plastic drawers that I put those bows into where they wait patiently, ready to go when the right project comes along.

And that's it for me! I'd love to hear your ribbon storage tips! Thanks for stopping by....your visits make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers.

Cheerio,

kathy

Ribbon Organization Day 4

Well hello there Peeps....it's Ginny here and it's my day to share how I organize my Really Reasonable Ribbons!  Just a fair warning....I'm a bit OCD....can't help it....I come by it from my Momma....the apple doesn't fall far from the tree : )
My crafting space is in the back corner of my store....I have to keep things neat and tidy most of the time....so I've got a pretty organized system to make things easy to put back to make room for crops and classes.  Quite a bit of my trims are in the cabinet on the right...in those stacked bins on the shelves. They are all labeled by color : ) Labels make me happy!
I've got my RRR ribbons in this large compote on the shelf. The texture is so pretty. I keep lot's of little bits in these vintage dishes and milk glass. Tiny clothes pins, felty hearts and bits of images clipped out and ready to use.
Here is some pretty glitters, more dishes filled with paper pretties and washi tapes.
I love these little boxes with the French theme.  The little dress form was a gifty from my DH...I added a few sparkly Christmas ornaments and flowers to dress it up a bit. Behind the shelves I have some boards to hold little bits of images and some vintage button tags.
This shelf has my embellishment boxes, more vintage clippings and paper pads.
My inspiration board is a great place to display a banner we made recently in class, flowers, trinkets from my peeps, and some of my favoritest blingy jewelery.
I've hung my inspiration board above Stella my dress form. She has more bling on lol. The tower on the right holds crepe rolls, vintage mason jars full of buttons and rings for albums. There's also a container of chapsticks and "emergency eyeliner" I'm never without eyeliner lol.
I added some of my favoritest pink polka dot ribbon to these canning jars and filled them with little bitty bags, glassine bags, super cute stripy straws and Middy bags stacked in back.

I do love all these drawers. Filled with all my flowers and doilys and tools and buttons. Yes I know I have a few labels missing....it's on the list lol.

I've filled up this spinning rack (meant for paint) with my ribbon spools....they are super handy to reach for when I need them. I've got all my go-to tools in the cute pink buckets and tags are displayed in the seed containers on the shelves.

I keep all my RRR trims stored in the clear bins by color wrapped with craft paper strips held on with paper clips so I can use it and rewrap them easily. This works to keep a lot of ribbon in less space : )

I try to keep all my prettiest supplies out for inspiration....but like most of you I do have a space that is strictly functional....in my case I call it "the beast" A ginormous cabinet for all my stamps and inks and paper stash and other necessary items. I'm showing it to you with the doors open since Bonnie was so brave to share her box of shame lol. You should insert slasher movie music now lol

And here are my bins of shame lol

Yikes...I guess I better work on those bins lol.
I hope you enjoyed your little visit in my crafty space : ) Wishing you all a happy and productive and and time to be creative : ) G
