Fall Swag for your Mantle

Hi Everyone and welcome to the RRR blog today.  I am getting in the mood to decorate for fall so I decided to gather up some fall foliage branches and make up a new swag for my mantle this year.

This was super easy to make and all I needed was the pieces to go on both ends, a sunflower for the center, some wire and wire cutters.  One of my favorite ribbons in the store is under the "Natural Fibers" called "Faux Burlap with a wire edge".  It comes in 5 yummy colors and works so good for all those projects that you need a really gorgeous bow on to make it pop.

The color I chose for mine is "Wired Faux Burlap in Olive".  I made 2 double bows for both sides of the sunflower to frame it and then bent the ribbons just a little bit.  The bows I attached with wire into the base and that was all.  It's ready to hang up on the mantle and maybe I will have to do a couple of candle holders to match...that would be so pretty.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day,

Teresa

Trick or Treat

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

I love this time of year!  Fall colors and autumn holidays are my favorite!  I dug into my crafty stash and put together a really cute vintage Trick or Treat pocket card that uses both burlap string and fabulous ribbon.
The adorable image and papers are from the Crafty Secrets Vintage Jumbo Halloween Kit. These sneaky Trick or Treat mice crack me up.  The playful feel of this card is enhanced by the addition of a perky bow made from Orange Sheer Organza with a Satin Center ribbon. I've topped this with a suitably spooky black burlap string bow, an orange daisy and some felt leaves.
I love using my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool to make these burlap string bows.  Here, I've added orange burlap string to the black, then fanned the individual loops out to make a great base for my jack-o-lantern button and spider web.  I also added a strip of the too cute to spook Pumpkins on White Grosgrain Ribbon adding more texture to the card, and picking up on the orange tones in the paper.
The inside of the card is where this party really gets started!  I've decorated the upper half of this top fold card with more Crafty Secrets goodies, then built a pocket below and stuffed it with tags.
Bits of ribbon and more twine really make the tags pop!  I curled the burlap string by dampening it with a 50/50 mixture of liquid glue and water.  Then I wrapped the loose ends around the barrel of a slim paintbrush and let them dry.  Voila!  Fun curlicue burlap string!
Here's a closer look at all those spook-tacular tags!  This is such a frightfully fabulous card to send out...especially if you tucked a gift card for ice cream inside!  Just like a party in a card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Spooky Sweet Treats

Hello to you my friends!   More Halloween goodies to share using RRR ribbon.  It is my day over at the RRR blog.  Now eyeballs are not a favorite yummy treat for me...but these are pretty cute, and just a little bit spooky. My kind of Halloween.  I used more "googly" eyes.  I don't know if that is an official name for them, but it works for me.  I put them in a stamped Mason jar image from PTI.  I kept my mason jar simple because I wanted the eyes to really pop.  I used black seam binding along with Halloween bakers twine, and orange ribbon.   I added a cute little hand stamped tag and topped it off with one sweetheart blossom in orange.  I also used some foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.  My other tag uses plaid ribbon in orange with a black stitch with another adorable sweetheart blossom.  I used old Heidi Swapp stickers and a cute dimensional pumpkin to embellish my digital image.  Hope you enjoy!  Hugs, cherry

U-Pick Pumpkins

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am back today to share a cute little fall greeting card with you. I started with an adorable stamp from Whipper Snapper Stamps called "U-Pick Farm".  I stamped it onto my Canson watercolor paper with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  I then watercolored it with my Distress Makers.  I then cut the image out with an MFT Oval STAX die.

I adhered a few pieces of fall patterned paper from my stash to an A2 piece of mustard colored cardstock.  I wrapped Turftan Brown Satin with Grosgrain Edges Ribbon and Sunflowers on Kiwi Grosgrain Ribbon around the card.  I created a triple loop bow with the same Turftan Brown Satin with Grosgrain Edges Ribbon and my Bow-It-All tool.  I adhered that to the card.  I finished it with three golden yellow pearls.  I hope you enjoy this adorable fall card.  Make sure to stop by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store for all of your Fall themed ribbons.  Have a wonderful day!

Spooky Halloween Card and Shabby Bow Video Tutorial

Hi friends.  Can you believe it's almost Autumn?  Time flies, but this is my very favorite time of the year.  I love the cool, crisp air, the beautiful colors of Autumn and getting back to crafting more often.
Really Reasonable Ribbon has a HUGE selection of fun ribbon styles for Halloween and Autumn.  In addition to the August and September Ribbon Club assortments, check out the Fun 4 Fall and Halloween sections to see the entire selection.
Not a member of the RRR Monthly Ribbon Club yet?  JOIN TODAY and begin with this fabulous double-pack for a special price!  Each assortment contains 9 styles of ribbon and a total of 17 yards of ribbon and trim.  What a fun way to build your ribbon stash and try out new ribbon styles!

On my card today I layered a base of Black Netting Trim which I trimmed down to a width of 1".  Next is a layer of Apple Green Checkerboard Satin and it's topped off with Halloween Chevron Stripes Grosgrain.  My sentiment is layered over this ribbon stack.
I created the fun shabby bow on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  I made a triple-loop bow with Black Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon and clipped the loops and frayed the ends.  To see how I created this bow, please watch the video below.

Shabby Bow Video Tutorial with the Bow-it-All V2.0

You will see I changed up the color of the bow on this card in the video.  I love the black, but it does not photograph well....
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  For more information on other products I used on my card, please visit my Make Time to Craft Blog.
