Evergreen Botanical Christmas Card Folio

Stamperia Winter Botanic by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Nothing says Christmas like freshly cut pine boughs.  Their fragrance and natural beauty are hallmarks of the holiday season.  So I was delighted to find some pine cone satin ribbon in my December Ribbon Club Assortment!  It inspired this lovely botanical Christmas card.

Really Reasonable Ribbon December Ribbon Club Assortment Stamperia Winter Botanic by Kathy Clement

I've used 3 of the gorgeous ribbons from the Club Assortment on this Stamperia Winter Botanic Christmas Card.  First, my bow cluster is made with  Tan Checkerboard Satin Ribbon.  The hue of this ribbon was a perfect match for the paper collection.  Then, to add pattern and texture to the card design, I layered 3/8" Pine Cone Satin Ribbon over 1/2" Brown/Cream Tartan Plaid Ribbon.  A pine cone satin bow cluster at the top helps to frame the card.

It's easy to turn this pretty card into a gift.  Just add a pocket and flap page to the interior.

I could not bring myself to cut this beautiful scene to fit inside my 5" x 7" card base.  The solution?  Simply score a flap on the right hand side.  Now I have a hand spot to tuck in a little chocolate treat!

The pocket on the bottom half of the card provides a great place to add a little gift card wallet and note card.  Since so many of us are mailing our gifts this year, it makes sense to turn the card into the gift!

How are you coming along with your Christmas preparations?  I have the house all decorated, but I'm still working to get my cards all done.  It's always a challenge to fit everything in during this busy season.  But remember to take time and enjoy the beauty, and make time to create something beautiful today.

Milestone Birthday Card Folio

Hello, Friends!  How do you feel about the color purple?  It's one of those colors that people are rarely neutral about.  You either really love it or you don't.  I've grown to really love the rich hues and saturated tones of this color.  And I used a ton of it on this vintage style milestone birthday card.

The 3/8" Grape Plaid Ribbon from the April Ribbon Club adds the perfect finishing touch to this box style card.  One of the things I love about 3/8" ribbon is that it's great for tying bows with multiple loops.  The Zutter Bow it All Tool makes this task extra easy.  I honestly don't know what I would do without it in my studio!

I love the way the ribbon picked up on the lighter shades of purple in this paper and brightened up the dark hues.

This box style pocket on the inside of the card has room for lots of treats.

When you have this much goodness stuffed inside a card, the card becomes the gift.

Milestone birthdays should be captured on film, so I created a little accordion style folio to tuck inside the pocket.

You can tie more of that pretty Grape Plaid ribbon around the photo album to hold it closed, too.

I hope I've shared some ideas and inspiration that you can use in your next crafty adventure.  Thanks for stopping by!

Buttons and Bows Shaker Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  So tell me, how do you feel about white ribbon?  Today's Buttons and Bows Shaker Folio is a study in blue, which is my favorite color.  And nothing goes better with blue than crisp, white taffeta ribbon.

I used my faithful Zutter Bow-it-All Tool to tie a 3" double loop bow on the left hand side of the shaker box.  Silver Metallic String adds another layer of sparkle and shine and a vintage blue button finishes the bow cluster nicely.

White Taffeta Ribbon does double duty in this 5 1/2" trifold shaker folio.   I used it as the closure mechanism and tied a bow on the side.  To do this, wrap the matted layers of your project with 1/2" Scor-Tape.  Then press the taffeta ribbon onto the sticky strip and you're good to go!

What do you do with your ribbon scraps?  I like to thread them through the tops of little tags, or tie them in a square knot to decorate a honey stick, as I've done here.

The more I use Taffeta Ribbon, the more I love it.  It ties crisp, poufy bows and comes in loads of wonderful colors!

Wishing you a beautiful, creative day!

Spring Ribbons for a Spring Market Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  How would you like to go to the flower market with me?  Today's project is a Carta Bella Spring Market Trifold Card folio adorned with airy, shimmering 7/8" White Organza ribbon and Gold Metallic String

This delicate ribbon and string combination is the perfect accent for this 5 1/2" square card folio.  If you've never worked with organza ribbon before, you really should give it a try.  It is soft and easy to tie, comes in a rainbow of colors, adds soft shimmer to any project and best of all, is very affordable.

I love to make little folios like this one.  They are so  much more "doable" than a mini album, but have more going on than just a card.  And I've tucked some little surprises inside that help it to double as a gift.

Seam binding ribbon is another "go to" for me as it ties the prettiest bows.  This little art tag is topped with Pink Salmon Seam Binding, and it adds a lovely pop of color.  Like the organza ribbon, seam binding ribbon comes in every color you could possibly ever need or want!

So if you're looking for some great spring ribbon options to go with your spring paper stash, you can't go wrong with Organza and Seam binding!
