Battle for Love!
Hi Ribbon lovers! I'm Tammy Louise and I was asked to be the February Guest Designer for Bonnie and the Really Reasonable Ribbon team! I'm so excited and honored to be here for the entire month! Thank you Bonnie, I'm having the best time with these lovely ribbons! Today is my first opportunity to work with a card and envelope template I received this Christmas.
I love cards that aren't square or rectangle. Trying something new is always high on my list as well as it keeps the crafty juju flowing! Here is the templates used in today's project:
This is such an easy template to follow and after embossing the card and envelope to match with the "Doodle Hearts" folder from The Paper Studio, I brushed some Ranger Distress ink in "Antique linen" and stamped with "Vintage Photo" ink using a Craftsmart heart stamp over the hearts so they would POP more and it would create depth in this somewhat more simple design.
The template has a design on the card that I decided to cut out from Kraft paper and wrap it in Red w/ Grossgrain White Stitched edge ribbon to give the design some texture. I placed a glittery hand cut heart at the top of the "battlefield" and a beautiful bow adorned with a slider and button at the bottom. The contrasting colors, red,White w/ Red Stitched Edge Grossgrain, Black Jute ribbon and the thin 1/8th inch diagonal Stripe Ribbon in Black make this elegant and eccentric at the same time.
I developed it into a LOVELY card with the heartfelt sentiment "Love Postage Stamp"and "The Fun Life Tickets"from Raindrop Echo Designs and created a banner by hand to coordinate the envelope to match.
My favorite part of this project is the beautiful bright red ribbon with stitches and the black Jute ribbon behind it all giving it a wonderfully textured background.
Extra Embellishments: Kaisercraft Sparkle Crystals
Prima "Romance Novel" Wooden buttons
Ranger Distress Ink "Black Soot" around edges of card
Slider from Whimsy Stamps Store
Kaiser craft pearl altered w/Copic
Well, that's all for me today, I hope you enjoyed the "out of the ordinary" but easy to create project and rest assured I will be returning throughout the month with several other projects created with the lovely ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.
Hugs and See you soon!
