Shabby Chic Floral Delight - Page 3

Hello everyone, today I'm sharing another page for my large Shabby Chic Mini album that I have been working on. It's finally completed and I will share all the pages here on another day along with the video. 

So for this page I created at the top a photo mat, along with a pocket. In my photos below I show the tag with the handmade flowers and greenery, all made from Really Reasonable Ribbons Seam Binding. I did add some Sweetheart Blossoms to it as well. I figured I will add another photo there, and also to the back. So for that one area I will get 3 photos.  I'm hoping to have all the photos put in place before I do my video.

On the bottom of the page I created an accordion file using Really Reasonable Ribbons bags, lace, bead trim, seam binding, and a button. It will hold 3 of those frames. For the photo I only have the pink polka dotted one showing. I figured another 6 photos should fit in there perfectly.

The die cuts I used are from the Scrapping Cottage and are the CottageCutz dies. I used the pretty bird cage, and oval with flowers on this.

Sweet Cherries Vintage Notebook

Hello there Paper Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a fun little notebook I created with a great Summer Cherries theme.  It started out as a tag....but it was just crying out to be something more....

 

I think it's as cute as can be! I had the cherry sticker that I added foam spacers to make it dimensional. I did the same with the stamped scalloped circle then layered them on top of a tiny felt doily, and a cardstock tag with washi tape.

That fabulous bow is made with Red Plaid, Ivory Burlap String and topped off with a sweet red button.

Patriotic Double Pocket Card Tutorial

Really Reasonable Ribbon Patriotic Double Pocket Card Tutorial

Hello all you ribbon lovers! And Happy July 4th! Here in the States, this is our "big day"! There will be cookouts and parades and fireworks--corn hole tournaments and picnics and loads of celebrating all the things we love about our home. I've created a little patriotic double pocket card tutorial to share with you today.

 

I've used a lovely assortment of red, white, and blue ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I've combined Mini Stars on Antique White grosgrain with Navy Blue Stars on Off White grosgrain ribbon and Navy Blue Grosgrain ribbon. I've used handmade tinsel and vintage images from Polly's Paper, my very favorite Etsy shop! I used denim to make the strip of rolled flowers at the base, treated my vintage image from The Graphics Fairy with UTEE and then added little tags to this double pocket card. The tags have a border of Rosemary Natural Crochet Lace along the bottom.

 

I think you'll find that this double pocket card tutorial is as easy as pie!

First, create a 5" x 6 1/2" side fold card from kraft cardstock. Open the card and position it on your paper cutter so that the top left hand corner and bottom right hand corner of the card front are lined up on the cutting edge.

 

Set aside the triangular piece that has been cut away. You will use this later. Now, line the inside of your card base.

 

Next, run a bead of glue or adhesive along the bottom edge of the left hand side of your card base.

 

Close this up, and use a bone folder to seal securely. You just made the inner pocket of your card. Yay!

 

Now, take the triangular piece you set aside and place it on the paper you want to use on the outside flap of your card so that you have a 1/4" overhang on the side and bottom.

 

Trace along the diagonal line and cut. Glue this onto the triangular piece. I usually just add a little glue to the center to hold the paper in place so that I can stitch around the edges.

If desired, stitch around the edges of the red triangle. I used a metallic red thread from Coats and Clark. If you don't want to stitch, just glue the triangle down, making sure it's centered.

Now, glue this triangular piece onto the front of your card base, running the glue ONLY along the left hand side and base of the triangle.

Ta-da! You just created a second pocket on the outside of your card. Now you can tuck a tag in the front pocket and a second tag inside the back pocket. Fun, right?

Decorate your tags and the front cover of your card. I created a sort of medallion with my vintage image and then used foam dots to secure it to the card front. Just don't glue anything down over the diagonal line you've created with your pocket, or you won't be able to use the back pocket, and that would be sad.

 

See how fun it looks when it's all put together? I hope you'll give this double pocket card tutorial a try. This is a patriotic card, but this design works perfectly for any type of card. The ribbons on the tags make everything so festive!

Happy almost 4th to you!  I have an altered chipboard box to share today.   It had a door to it as you can see ....cute, but I had different plans.  I cut it out and went to town covering it in papers, images, and little sewing bits.  I added Rosemary natural crochet lace around the outer edges along with 1.5 light blue crochet lace on the outer sides.  I topped it off with faux canvas ribbon in natural to make my big bow.  Hope you enjoy!   Have a great 4th tomorrow!  cherry

Bow-it-All V2.0 Video Tutorial * Multi-Loop Triple Layer Bows with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello there fellow ribbon and bow lovers.  I'm back with a new Bow-it-All V2.0 Video.  Today I will be making Multi-Loop Triple Layer Bows.

My card has a double-loop triple layer bow that is the perfect size for an greeting card.

With all the extra peg holes on the new Bow-it-All V2.0, you can make these bows in a very wide variety of sizes from very large for a wreath or other home dec project, to small enough for a card.
